Debut of Boutique Cycling Brand Down Under Expands Footprint of Parent Company Xponential Fitness to Four Continents.

IRVINE, Calif. — Australia is “gearing up” for an indoor cycling revolution as CycleBar, the largest indoor cycling brand with over 210 studios worldwide, rides into Perth, Western Australia this week. The new studio, located in Currambine, marks the first to open in Australia, expanding the reach of CycleBar’s parent company, boutique fitness curator Xponential Fitness, to four continents and nine countries, which also includes the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Austria, Singapore and Saudi Arabia.

“Boutique cycling has been one of the hottest fitness trends in America for the past decade, if not longer, and we are excited for CycleBar to be on the forefront of that in Australia,” said John Kersh, Chief International Development Officer for Xponential Fitness. “The country’s strong demographics and vibrant fitness and wellness scene make it the perfect home for our high-energy, community-driven brand and an ideal market for rapid expansion over the next few years.”

Founded in 2004, CycleBar offers a variety of low-impact, high-intensity indoor cycling workouts, which are inclusive of all fitness levels. CycleBar offers a truly immersive, multi-sensory experience in state-of-the-art “CycleTheaters,” led by specially trained instructors known as “CycleStars”, driven by heart-pumping  “CycleBeats” playlists, and tracked using rider-specific “CycleStat” performance metrics.

The expansion of CycleBar in Australia is being driven by a Master Franchise Agreement with husband and wife entrepreneurial team Matt and Candice Gordin, along with Matt’s father Bill Gordin from Perth. The Gordins have extensive experience in both the cycling and franchising world, with Matt holding the position of CEO and Candice leading the Finance & Accounting Department for BikeExchange USA, a large marketplace for bicycle products, for close to 6 years. Both have a long history in franchising, with Candice as Operations Manager for Wild Cards & Gifts, a national gift shop franchise, and Matt as Franchisee and General Manager for Bike Force, an Australian bike retailer with 24 franchised locations. Bill Gordin founded Bike Force in 1991 and is also a seasoned competitive cyclist, with a gold medal at the World Masters Championship in 2018.

The agreement with the Gordins will bring at least 45 CycleBar studios to the country over the next several years. Last month, they signed their first official franchise agreement with a local entrepreneur, which will extend CycleBar’s reach to New South Wales with three locations in Sydney.

The opening of CycleBar in Perth continues an impressive year of international growth for the Irvine, CA-headquartered Xponential Fitness, bringing the company’s reach to nine countries. Studios are currently open in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea and as of last month, Saudi Arabia, inside the brand new, state-of-the-art EVOX Clubs in Riyadh. Xponential has also signed deals to open studios in Germany, Austria and Singapore in the coming months.

Row House Pulls Past 300 Signed Franchise Agreements

2020-07-29T13:25:07-04:00July 29th, 2020|Tags: , , , , |

Despite Pandemic, Boutique Fitness Brand Continues to Draw Entrepreneurs in Masses with Transformative Rowing-based Fitness Concept.

IRVINE, Calif. — Since 2014, Row House, the leading boutique rowing-based fitness brand, has encouraged people to “pull together.” Amidst the current pandemic and social unrest that has swept the world, that message could not be more timely and is clearly resonating with entrepreneurs as Row House, which is part of the Xponential Fitness family of brands, announced today it has surpassed 300 signed franchise agreements. With close to 75 studios already open, this new accomplishment falls in line with the brand’s overarching goal to have over 300 locations by 2022.

Recently signed agreements will bring at least one new location to cities such as Omaha, North Haledon and Denver, and three new locations to Phoenix, Jacksonville, and Los Angeles. Notably, several studios are being developed by entrepreneurs who already own franchises within the Xponential Fitness portfolio. Row House in North Haledon is being developed by an existing CycleBar owner, and the three Los Angeles locations will be opened by a Club Pilates owner.

“Community and inclusivity are cornerstones of the Row House brand, and people are craving both now more than ever, due to challenges 2020 has thrown their way,” said Ramon Castillon, President of Row House. “What was once a niche concept is becoming very mainstream, as Row House has been widely adopted by friends, family members and colleagues thanks to the inclusive nature of our programming and culture. We believe this is what is drawing so many incredible entrepreneurs to the concept and could not be more excited to help them bring our transformative workout to their communities and change lives.”

Long recognized by fitness goers as one of the most effective forms of low impact, full-body strength and cardio exercise, Row House is popularizing one of America’s oldest sports in the boutique fitness setting by putting the rower front and center for its classes, delivering unparalleled results. Row House has six class offerings – Signature, Power, Full Row, Restore, Express Signature, and Foundation – which combines rowing intervals with floor exercises to provide variety to this All-in-One workout routine. Utilizing 85 percent of the body’s muscles, rowing-based fitness maximizes calorie burn, activates the core, strengthens and lengthens the body and ultimately improves posture and mobility. Along with being low-impact, the workout is non-weight bearing, allowing people with any pre-existing injuries or weight loss goals to minimize added stress on their bodies and reduce risk of injury. Members from all fitness levels can enjoy all class types, allowing for the perfect workout to be enjoyed with friends, family or colleagues.

To continue their rapid expansion, Row House is actively seeking qualified franchise partners. Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Row House is backed by Xponential Fitness, a curator of leading boutique fitness brands. The Row House franchise opportunity offers potential franchisees the opportunity to capitalize on an emerging fitness market across all 50 states. With a total investment of $276,600$499,500. Row House provides a wealth of support, infrastructure and knowledge from the Xponential Fitness team.

CycleBar Among First to Install Innovative Air Purifier to Address COVID-19

Boutique Fitness Studio Boasts Safest Place to Work Out in Worcester County.

MILFORD, Mass. — Today, CycleBar Milford, a boutique fitness studio specializing in indoor cycling, announced that they are among the first fitness centers in Worcester County to install the award-winning REME HALO® in-duct air purifying unit by RGF Environmental Group, Inc. RGF first developed this technology over 20 years ago, and since then more than one million cells have been in use worldwide across health care, food processing, military and hospitality industries.  Although testing specific to the efficacy against COVID-19 is ongoing, this technology has been specified in the Norovirus and MRSA protection plan of America’s largest restaurant chains, hotel chains, theme parks, cruise lines, public schools and hospitals.

The unit is installed directly into the studio’s HVAC system and actively distributes hydro-peroxide plasma that is circulated throughout the entire studio including the cycling theatre, community room, bathrooms and front lobby. Unlike passive air technologies, which need pollutants to pass through the unit for purification or filtration, the REME HALO® in-duct air purifier sweeps through our space actively purifying pollutants at the source. The hydro-peroxide plasma has been proven to be 99% effective in neutralizing viruses, bacteria and mold in the air as well as on surfaces.

“For those that have visited our studio, you know how much pride all of the CycleBar staff members take in the cleanliness of our studio,” says owner/operator John DiChiaro. “However, despite these efforts, we recognize that members may be hesitant to return to the studio amid COVID-19 concerns. We made the decision to install the REME HALO to stay ahead of the curve and create the safest environment for people to work out and stay healthy.”

The re-opening celebration will include discounted membership specials, giveaways and “members-only” events. Follow CycleBar Milford’s social media pages to stay informed. CycleBar Milford does not have a confirmed re-opening date yet.

Xponential Fitness Expanding International Footprint with a Deal Down Under.

IRVINE, Calif. — CycleBar, the largest indoor cycling brand, announced today that it has signed a Master Franchise Agreement in Australia, which gives the Master Franchisee the right to license at least 45 CycleBar studios to potential franchisees in the country over the next several years. CycleBar is one of  eight brands owned by Xponential Fitness, a curator of leading boutique fitness brands with over 1,500 studios open worldwide as of March 31, 2020.

The Australia agreement is in collaboration with CycleBar and entrepreneurs Matt and Bill Gordin, a father and son team currently based in Perth, Western Australia. The Gordins have extensive experience in the cycling world, with Matt recently appointed as CEO of BikeExchange USA, a large marketplace for bicycle products. Bill, Matt’s father, previously founded Bike Force, an Australian bike retailer with 24 franchised locations across the country. Bill is also a seasoned competitive cyclist, with a gold medal at the World Masters Championship in 2018. The expansion of CycleBar in Australia is expected to begin with the first studio in Perth in late 2020.

“We are thrilled to be working with Matt and Bill Gordin to bring our CycleBar brand to Australia,” said John Kersh, Chief International Development Officer for Xponential Fitness. “Matt and Bill share our vision for CycleBar in Australia, and they see an exciting future beyond the current global challenges. Their passion for cycling, and their experience in franchising, will provide an outstanding platform for long-term growth of the brand.”

“We’re very excited to enter into the Australian market by leveraging our proven model and share our brand with a very educated and vibrant fitness community,” said Trevor Lucas, Senior Vice President of Operations for CycleBar. “We’re looking forward to partnering with Matt and Bill as they franchise CycleBar in Australia as they bring exciting career opportunities to hundreds of franchisees and studio staff.”

Over the last few months, Xponential Fitness has made strides in growing its global footprint, with Club Pilates most recently announcing a Master Franchise Agreement in Singapore. In November 2019, the company signed a multi-brand Master Franchise Agreement in Germany and Austria, a development slated to bring numerous Xponential Fitness studios to the countries over the next five years. Additionally, the company expects to have a new presence in the Middle East after signing a multi-brand Master Franchise Agreement in Saudi Arabia, to license studios to potential franchisees in the country over the next ten years, including Club Pilates, Pure Barre, CycleBar, YogaSix and AKT. Xponential Fitness also has a presence in Canada, Japan and South Korea.

Backed by CEO and Founder Anthony Geisler and Snapdragon Capital, Xponential Fitness was ranked in 2019 among Fast Company’s annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies in the Wellness category in, and in 2020, had three of its brands – Club Pilates, Pure Barre and CycleBar – included on Entrepreneur’s coveted Franchise 500 ranking, with five of its brands – StretchLab, Pure Barre, YogaSix and CycleBar – also being included on Entrepreneur’s Fastest Growing Franchise ranking.

STRIDE Partners with Road Runner Sports to Host Virtual Race for Runners Nationwide

2020-05-06T10:00:17-04:00May 6th, 2020|Tags: , , , , |

Runners and Walkers Can Sign Up to Complete 5K or 10K Distance on Global Running Day.

IRVINE, Calif. — STRIDE, the national boutique fitness franchise that offers treadmill-based cardio and strength workouts, announced today it has partnered with Road Runner Sports, the world’s largest running and walking store, to host a national virtual race June 3, 2020, which is Global Running Day. Registration is now open through May 31 for a $35 entry fee, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to Feeding America®. Those who sign up will receive a downloadable bib number, branded t-shirt, finish line photo and participation medal along with a training plan from STRIDE and access to the brand’s “Go the Distance While You Keep Your Distance” Facebook Page, which offers daily running, strength training, and recovery workouts.

“I’ve been in the running business a long time—37 years—and I’ve seen the industry change dramatically with the times,” said Mike Gotfredson, CEO and founder of Road Runner Sports. “That’s why I believe virtual races like the one we’re creating with STRIDE are a big part of the future of running. It’s a fun, safe way for runners and walkers all over America and the world to connect.”

With social distancing guidelines still in effect in most states, runners and walkers across the nation can sign up to run a 5K or 10K distance by themselves indoors on a treadmill or outdoors on a street, track, beach or trail. On race day, participants will submit a photo of their treadmill or screenshot from their tracking device that shows their distance and pace, as well as a photo of themselves at the “finish line” via STRIDE’s custom race day landing page. STRIDE will then livestream these posts on the landing page and share all of the photos through social media to commemorate everyone’s success.

“With so many big races cancelled across the country due to coronavirus, we are excited to partner with Road Runner Sports to give runners a safe event to train for and participate in,” said Jeff Stokes, President of STRIDE. “This virtual race is truly for everybody. You can walk, jog or run the distance inside or outside, however you are most comfortable, and celebrate with thousands of other runners across the nation when you finish.”

STRIDE has always prided itself on the notion that anybody can be a runner regardless of age, fitness level or ability. Founded in 2017 and part of the Xponential Fitness family of brands, the boutique fitness brand offers treadmill-based workouts that provide a mix of cardio and strength intervals, all performed on their state-of-the-art Woodway Treadmills. With three core class formats and a unique leveling system that allows clients to take every class as a walker or runner, each individual is able to find the workout that best aligns with their fitness abilities and goals.

While STRIDE has temporarily closed its studios’ doors during the current pandemic, running has seen a boom in popularity as it’s one of the few activities that allows people to get outside and exercise in a safe manner.

“We have to find the silver lining in these difficult times,” said Stokes. “We may not be able to help people discover their inner runners with our studio classes right now, but STRIDE and Road Runner Sports together want to do our part to keep everyone active and healthy. This virtual race is just one of the many exciting ways we can do that until everyone is able to safely return to the boutique fitness setting. We can still go the distance while we social distance.”

STRIDE currently has two locations in California, and over 50 in development in cities across the country, including Scottsdale, Jacksonville Beach, Chicago, Tulsa, Dallas and Knoxville. For more information about STRIDE, visit www.runwithstride.com. To sign up for the virtual race, visit https://lp.runwithstride.com/virtual-race.
