HOUSTON — Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen, a popular Houston-based fast-casual pizza brand, has signed a five-unit franchise agreement in Fresno California. The multi-unit deal is with a local entrepreneurial couple who fell in love with the food and decided to bring the pizza concept to their town.

The five restaurants will be owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Katharina and Don Haines. #HelpFirst for First Responders During National Police Week

Sales during the quarter exceeded the first quarters of both 2019 and 2020.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — AtWork, a rapidly growing national staffing franchise, released sales results for the first quarter of 2021 today, reporting significant growth over both 2019 and 2020, despite the ongoing effects of the pandemic.

Though the pandemic took a major toll early in the second quarter, Q1 revenues in 2020 were mostly in line with 2019 levels. The first quarter of 2021, however, has seen significant growth over either of these previous periods, with 16% growth over 2020 and 18% growth over 2019. The forecast for the second quarter looks equally impressive, though the year over year comparison will reflect growth over 2020 during the peak of the pandemic.

Trio of Franchisees to Expand Optical Retail Brand in Dallas and Austin Areas.

DALLASMy Eyelab, a retail brand of Now Optics, is gearing up for expansion in the Austin and Dallas markets. This growth plan comes after a signed agreement from the end of 2020 with a trio of new franchisees looking to grow the brand in these two markets. The franchisees, Arash Ghanbari, Victor Mankrious, and Sameh Bekhit plan to open eight locations over the next three years with four in each market. Their first location is set to open in Dallas in August 2021, shortly followed by two more stores in Austin.

These franchisees have a unique portfolio of experience, having worked in mechanical engineering, research and development, dentistry and entrepreneurship. Ghanbari and Mankrious are mechanical engineers, equipping them to handle operations and the financial aspects of running their My Eyelab locations. Additionally, Mankrious and his wife have owned and operated a small pharmacy for the past five years. Bekhit is a dentist who owns and operates multiple dental practices. With this background in small business ownership, he will lead oversight of the operations.
