Assisted Living Locators Named a Top Senior Care Franchise by Franchise Business Review

2019-11-19T10:22:13-05:00November 19th, 2019|Tags: , , , , , , |

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Assisted Living Locators was identified by independent franchisee satisfaction research firm, Franchise Business Review, as one of just 14 senior care companies to qualify for its 2019 list of the Top Senior Care Franchises.

Assisted Living Locators is a nationwide senior placement and referral franchisor that has been matchmaking seniors with caring providers for over a decade. The company has 125 franchise office locations in 36 states and the District of Columbia.

Franchise Business Review, a national franchise market research firm that performs independent surveys of franchisee satisfaction, is the only ranking of franchises based solely on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance.

To identify the companies on the list, Franchise Business Review analyzed 18 months of data from over 1,630 senior care franchise owners regarding their overall satisfaction with their brands and their likelihood to recommend them to others.

Nearly 90% of the senior care franchisees surveyed reported that they enjoy operating their business, as well as being part of their franchise organization. And, when asked about the long-term growth opportunity for their business, over 75% of survey respondents said that it is strong or very strong.

Assisted Living Locators franchisees were surveyed on 33 benchmark questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding critical areas of their franchise systems, including training & support, operations, franchisor/franchisee relations, and financial opportunity.

“Franchisee satisfaction in the senior care industry is very strong. In fact, the senior care sector has one of the highest satisfaction ratings in all of franchising,” said Michelle Rowan, president and COO of Franchise Business Review. “With the demand for senior care services increasing, owning a senior care franchise can be both lucrative and rewarding – as long as you choose the right brand. All of the brands on our list are performing well and have high satisfaction ratings from the franchisees who own them.”

“This is a great honor to be named as a ‘Top Senior Care Franchise’ by Franchise Business Review,” said Angela Olea, Assisted Living Locators CEO. “With Assisted Living Locators, there’s unlimited potential for franchise owners ready to make a difference in their community. We’re proud to be a company dedicated to compassionate care with a commitment to helping seniors and their families across the country.”

FirstLight Home Care Joins the Alzheimer’s Association in The Longest Day 2019

2019-06-18T10:45:07-04:00June 18th, 2019|Tags: , , , , |

June 21st: The day with the most light is the day we fight

CINCINNATI — On June 21, FirstLight® Home Care will raise funds and awareness to advance the Alzheimer’s Association’s care, support and research programs for The Longest Day®. The home care company has created a Global Team and invited its franchise locations across the country to join in the fight to end Alzheimer’s.

“FirstLight Home Care is honored to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to raise awareness and funds in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease,” said Rebecca Rushing BSN, RN, Director of Client Care Services for FirstLight. “Several of our employees have been affected by this devastating disease. We also take care of many clients and families who are living with Alzheimer’s. We recognize the importance of participating in activities such as The Longest Day that help bring the disease out of the shadows.”

The Longest Day is held on June 21 – the summer solstice and the day with the most light. Thousands of participants across the world will come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through an activity of their choice. FirstLight Home Care offices in the company’s more than 175 markets across the U.S. will participate in a variety of activities and events to shine a light on the 5.7 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease and the more than 16 million family members and friends providing care and support.

FirstLight teams will raise funds through events and activities in their local markets, such as bake sales, chili cook-offs, health fairs and more. Some will also hold Ageless Grace fitness classes that are open to the public. Ageless Grace is a fitness and wellness program that seeks to improve health and well-being, reduce stress, keep the brain agile and keep the body responsive. The nominal class registration fee from each event will be donated to The Longest Day.

“We are thrilled to partner with Ageless Grace on The Longest Day,” added Rushing. “Last year, we began offering Ageless Grace training to our franchise owners and managers who, in turn, have trained their caregivers. The customized curriculum was developed by Denise Medved, founder and creator of Ageless Grace, specifically for FirstLight Home Care. The program has been wonderful for our clients who are experiencing cognitive decline.”

Key facts about Alzheimer’s include:

  • Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States.
  • More than 5 million Americans are living with the disease.
  • 16 million family and friends provide unpaid care to people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias in the United States.
  • Every 65 seconds, someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s.
  • In 2018, more than 16 million caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias provided an estimated 18.5 billion hours of unpaid care, a contribution to the nation valued at nearly $234 billion.
  • In 2019, Alzheimer’s disease will cost the United States $290 billion. This number is projected to rise to more than $1.1 trillion in 2050.

The FirstLight Home Office Headquarters in Cincinnati will be holding several fundraising events as well from June 21 through August all in support of The Longest Day. For more information about Alzheimer’s disease, visit the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.

Independent Research Data Shows Franchisees Are Highly Satisfied with Their Investment in Assisted Living Locators

PHOENIX — Assisted Living Locators, a leading senior placement franchisor, was identified by independent franchisee satisfaction research firm, Franchise Business Review, as being only a few of the franchises to qualify for its 2019 Top Low-Cost Franchises list. Brands on the list had to have high franchisee satisfaction and an investment of under $100,000 at the time their franchisees participated in Franchise Business Review’s survey.

Franchise Business Review (FBR) provides the only rankings of franchises based solely on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance. FBR publishes its rankings of top franchises in its annual “Guide to Today’s Top Franchises,” as well as in quarterly reports throughout the year that rank the top franchises in specific sectors.

Thousands of franchisees representing over 150 low-cost brands participated in Franchise Business Review’s franchisee satisfaction survey between September 2017 and February 2019.

Assisted Living Locators franchisees were surveyed on 33 benchmark questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding critical areas of their franchise systems, including training & support, operations, franchisor/franchisee relations, and financial opportunity.

“A common myth around buying a franchise is that it’s too expensive. What most people don’t realize is that there are many low-cost opportunities available that can provide the satisfaction of business ownership, without requiring a huge financial investment,” says Michelle Rowan, president & COO of Franchise Business Review. “The low-cost franchises that made this year’s list have all been rated highly by their franchisees and are excellent options for entrepreneurs considering franchise ownership.”

“Assisted Living Locators is an affordable franchise opportunity that provides comprehensive training and technology processes to help franchisees be successful,” said Angela Olea, RN, CEO of Assisted Living Locators. “It’s an honor to be named to this elite list as a result of franchisee feedback.”

Assisted Living Locators Marks Older American Month with Senior Care Advisors’ Volunteerism

2019-05-01T15:20:10-04:00May 1st, 2019|Tags: , , , , , , |

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Every May, the Administration for Community Living leads our nation’s observance of Older Americans Month, recognizing our growing population of older Americans and their contributions to our communities.

Assisted Living Locators, a leading senior care placement firm, will mark the event by celebrating its senior care advisors’ volunteerism in communities nationwide. In honor of this year’s Older American Month’s theme, “Connect, Create and Contribute,” the company is sharing inspiring ways their advisors support older adults.

Connecting with A Single Rose

Shannon Avazian, an Assisted Living Locators Santa Clarita senior care advisor, has a special place in her heart for each senior she meets, knowing they need extra care and compassion. Shannon brought a single rose to her very first senior she helped find long term care and it brought tears to both her and the senior’s eyes. She still continues this special service today as her way to give back to seniors in her community.

Creating Art to Raise Awareness

A long-time committee member for the Alzheimer’s Association Art Canvas Drive, Assisted Living Locators Omaha senior care advisor Nikki Wullf reaches out to her local care partners to donate canvases painted by their residents with Alzheimer’s or Dementia.  Nikki collects the art canvases from dozens of communities for the Dementia Care Conference silent auction, raising funds and promoting awareness of Alzheimer’s and Dementia in her community.

Contributing in Small Ways Can Make A Big Difference

BJ Bounds, an Assisted Living Locators Southeast Dallas senior care advisor, started her own volunteer organization in 2004 to teach adults and children how to prepare for disasters and now helps local first responders assist older adults in times of disasters. Her volunteer group also provides and installs window air conditioning units to seniors in need. BJ provides an annual safety/ID theft class to senior citizens and teaches classes on how to pay for senior living.

For five years, Assisted Living Locators North Georgia senior care advisor Greg Santini has worked with his church’s homebound ministry. Once a month, he visits a group of seniors that can’t make it to Sunday mass. Greg brings them communion, listens to their stories, or sometimes just lets them tell him how bad they feel. Recently, he became involved with Meals on Wheels, a volunteer program that delivers food to seniors that have no transportation to buy groceries. Greg enjoys working in his community to support his seniors in any way he can.

“Assisted Living Locators has an outstanding community culture,” said Angela Olea, Assisted Living Locators CEO RN. “Our senior care advisors go ‘above and beyond’ to serve seniors and their families. Their compassion and problem-solving skills are the biggest asset of our company.  We’re dedicated to providing no cost help to seniors and their families to find the right care options.”

“We began FirstLight Home Care nearly a decade ago, and it’s been a wonderful journey,” said Jeff Bevis, co-founder and CEO of FirstLight Home Care. “Each year, the annual conference gives the FirstLight family an opportunity to come together as we celebrate the previous year’s accomplishments, continued growth and innovation.
