Executive Home Care Franchise Model Attracts Entrepreneurs in Growing Senior Care Market

2024-08-25T18:31:57-04:00August 25th, 2024|Tags: , , , |

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Executive Home Care, a leader in non-medical in-home care services, reports increasing interest from entrepreneurs seeking to enter the expanding senior care market. The company’s franchise model, which offers extensive support and protected territories, is attracting business owners nationwide.

“Our approach is designed to set franchisees up for success from day one,” said Rima Chadhauri, Director of Operations at Executive Home Care. “By offering large, protected territories with multi-territory opportunities, low start-up costs, and robust technology support, we’re giving our franchise partners a significant advantage in a competitive industry.”

Executive Home Care, a member of Evive Brands, has nearly two decades of experience in providing companion and personal care services. The company’s franchise model has been refined over the years to address the challenges faced by new business owners in the senior care sector.

Recent franchisees cite the company’s support system as a key factor in their decision to join the network. Landris Johnson, who opened an Executive Home Care franchise in Fort Worth, Texas, earlier this year, praised the company’s approach.

“The support from Executive Home Care has been invaluable,” Johnson said. “The low start-up costs and comprehensive technology platform allowed me to focus on building my client base and hiring quality caregivers during those crucial early months.”

In Kim, owner of Executive Home Care Front Range in Colorado, echoed this sentiment. “The protected territory gives us room to grow and meet the increasing demand for in-home care services in our area,” Kim said. “It’s clear that Executive Home Care understands what franchisees need to succeed.”

The senior care industry continues to expand, driven by an aging population and a preference for in-home care options. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of Americans aged 65 and older is projected to nearly double from 52 million in 2018 to 95 million by 2060.

Executive Home Care’s franchise model positions its partners to meet this growing demand. The company, known for its high-quality care and exceptional customer service, provides comprehensive training on caregiver selection, client care, and business operations. Their cloud-based technology platform covers all aspects of business, allowing franchisees to easily schedule time, manage billing and payroll, communicate with clients, and much more.

Waxxpot Bolsters Leadership Team with New Executive Appointments Set to Fuel Franchise Growth

2024-08-25T17:50:11-04:00August 25th, 2024|Tags: , , |

Waxing Franchise Builds World-Class Executive Bench with Seasoned Experts, Propelling Brand to Forefront of the Industry

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Waxxpot, an emerging full-service waxing franchise that provides hair-removal from head to toe for every body, bolsters its leadership team with the appointment of Adam Pennington as Chief Revenue Officer and Jenna Materre as Director of Training and Guest Operations Officer. These appointments come at a pivotal time as Waxxpot is strategically expanding its national reach, recently partnering with Franchise FastLane to surge franchise sales and continue to grow.

The man behind the new team is Michael Abramson, COO and President of Waxxpot, who has carefully curated each addition to align with the refreshed values and long-term goals of the brand. Abramson himself joined the Waxxpot team in January 2024, bringing with him over 10 years of experience in key leadership roles including creating and launching D1 Training’s franchise system, and serving as COO and CRO for Xponential Fitness.

“Bringing Michael onto the team was the next step for us in our brand evolution as we laser in on growth,” said Daniel Sadd, CEO and Founder of Waxxpot. “We have full confidence in his ability and past experiences to take Waxxpot as an emerging franchise and push it to the forefront of the beauty and wellness industry. The additions of Adam and Jenna take our leadership team to a new level – we have the right people, in the right positions, to achieve our brand goals.”

“Working with Michael over the years, I can say when it comes to brand expansion, there’s nobody better,” said Fritz Lanman, CEO of MindBody and ClassPass. “Franchising at scale requires a very granular understanding of how quickly the industry can change, and there is no one out there more adept at strategic leadership and more equipped to handle that kind of growth than Michael.”

Adam Pennington was appointed as Chief Revenue Officer in early July, bringing with him over 17 years of distinguished experience in real estate, construction, and business development. He most recently served as Chief Growth Officer at Xponential, the largest global franchisor of boutique health and wellness brands, including Club Pilates, Pure Barre, StretchLab, and Lindora, among others. During his tenure, he and his team managed all facets of real estate and construction, successfully influencing the opening of more than 1,800 locations nationwide. At Waxxpot, Pennington will spearhead initiatives in new store growth and customer acquisition, leveraging his extensive experience and visionary leadership to drive the company’s expansion and strengthen market presence.

Jenna Materre will fill the role of Director of Training and Guest Operations, being officially appointed in June. She brings over five years of experience in the beauty industry, graduating from Paul Mitchell the School of Cosmetology. Materre most recently worked as National Trainer for high-end med-spa brand, OVME. Before that, she supported European Wax Center as one of their earliest Field Operations Trainers, and one of three supporting the brand on a national scale.  She’s also worked with Tarte Cosmetics and Tata Harper Skincare. As Director of Training and Guest Operations, Materre’s focus will be on assisting franchisees in choosing key team members including Wax Specialists/estheticians. She’ll be training both the Wax Specialists and front desk support teams on standards and techniques for in-room services and front of house guest relations.

“We are really excited to bring Adam and Jenna onto the Waxxpot team,” said Abramson. “There is no doubt that their professional backgrounds and commitment to upholding the brand’s values will propel us to the forefront of the waxing industry and aid in our national franchise expansion goals.”

The Waxxpot brand was created in 2014, but the original concept dates back to 2003 when founder Daniel Sadd created Salon Lofts®. Waxxpot is a natural extension of Salon Lofts, which has expanded with 4,300+ beauty professionals in 200+ locations. Waxxpot recently began franchising, and now has 14 franchised locations and 11 corporate owned locations throughout ColoradoKentuckyGeorgiaOhioPennsylvania, and Texas.

Waxxpot’s business model offers competitive advantages in the booming personal care sector, which is expected to grow by 3% in 2024, according to this year’s Franchise Economic Outlook report produced by the International Franchise Association and independent researcher FRANdata.

Waxxpot’s boutique-style salons feature a proprietary soft wax formula, made in Spain and derived from Beeswax, that doesn’t require temperature extremes, allowing for a gentler experience when removing hair from even the most intimate of areas. Waxxpot offers a very high revenue-per-minute business – the brand’s Franchise Disclosure Document reports the top 25% of Waxxpot’s franchised locations generated an average revenue of $1,104,618.21 in 2023*.

Waxxpot is currently seeking franchise partners nationwide to deliver consistent, smooth results to reveal each client’s most confident self.

Employed Job Seekers Increasingly Wary of Unexpected Layoffs

2024-08-24T05:42:59-04:00August 24th, 2024|Tags: , , , |

Could Indicate a More Competitive Job Market

Latest Results from The Harris Poll

OKLAHOMA CITY — Amidst an unpredictable labor market, employed U.S. job seekers most commonly fear not receiving the salary increase or raise they deserve at their current company (44%), but another concern is on the rise that could indicate a growing shift in the workforce.

A recent Express Employment Professionals-Harris Poll survey reveals employed job seekers’ fear of losing their job before finding a new one has risen from previous waves and might support the perception the job market is becoming more competitive (31% vs. 28% Fall 2023, 24% Spring 2023).

With those fears and actions in mind, it’s not too surprising the top reasons employed job seekers are looking for a new job are to find/negotiate for better compensation (46%), to find the work/life balance they want (41%) and/or to find better growth opportunities in their current industry (41%).

Employed job seekers with at least a four-year degree are more likely than their counterparts with less than a four-year degree to say they are looking to find/negotiate for better compensation (53% vs. 41%, respectively) or to keep an eye out on the job market (36% vs. 21%).

Additionally, employed job seekers looking for new jobs are predominantly willing to accept full-time positions (83%), with smaller proportions looking for part-time (36%) or contract/freelance (27%) positions.

Quit, Laid Off or Fired
Many unemployed American job seekers have been out of work for an extended period of time, with about a third (32%) remaining unemployed for more than two years. Needing to quit or quitting voluntarily (34%), being laid off (19%) or being terminated or fired (12%) are the most common reasons.

Among job seekers who needed to quit or quit voluntarily, 32% say it was because of a physical, emotional or mental health condition or they wanted to find a job with better or more pay (30%).

Defining a Job vs. Career
Employed job seekers have worked at their company for an average of seven years and a little more than a fifth (21%) have been with their current company for more than 10 years.

However, even with many recording long tenures at their company, more than half (55%) describe their current employment as having a job (i.e., the work I do/perform to earn money to support my needs/wants) rather than having a career (i.e., a long-term occupation/profession I not only earn money to support my basic needs but also enjoy and/or take pride in) (45%).

Gen Zers are more likely than their Millennial or Gen X counterparts to describe their current employment as having a job vs. a career (74% vs 51% and 48%, respectively).

Employed job seekers share several reasons for saying their employment is just a job, including:

  • “The only benefit I get from the job is a paycheck. No added value to my life or my personal growth or professional development.” — 37-year-old male job seeker
  • “Right now, with prices so high on everything, I feel that I just have a job. I used to feel I had a career.” — 36-year-old female job seeker

Other job seekers see careers as employment in which they are personally invested, have a sense of agency or expertise, match what they went to school for or feel like they are making a meaningful difference. Specifically, they say:

  • “I have spent decades studying my profession (music), and it is part of my identity” — 47-year-old female job seeker
  • “The work I do matters. I work at a hospital and get to help people every day even when they are having their worst day.” — 34-year-old female job seeker

“Every job serves a purpose and could be the first stepping stone on the path to a meaningful career,” said Bill Stoller, Express Employment International CEO. “For those feeling unfulfilled in everyday duties, making positive changes starts today. With the widespread availability of online certifications and training, make the investment to reskill and turn your job into a career of fulfillment.”

Spherion Aids the Next Generation of the Workforce by Donating Two Leadership Scholarships

2024-08-19T21:30:43-04:00August 19th, 2024|Tags: , , |

$10,000 in Scholarship Funds Raised by the Spherion Franchise Community, Awarded to Individuals Seeking Higher Education

ATLANTA — With its largest individual scholarship gifts to date, Spherion Staffing and Recruiting (Spherion) announced today that its franchise community, in partnership with the Richland County Foundation, has awarded two 2024 high school graduates, Kimarra Turner and Hannah DeGraaff, with $5,000 each as part of the fifth annual Sandy Mazur Excellence in Leadership Scholarship. The scholarship was created in honor of former Spherion President Sandy Mazur to recognize outstanding students who best embody the qualities of excellence, leadership and passion that Mazur exhibited daily throughout her distinguished 18-year career at Spherion.

“Each year, our team is completely in awe of the outstanding students who apply and share their pursuit of giving back to and strengthening their communities,” said Mazur. “I am incredibly privileged to be part of this scholarship program as we celebrate its fifth year. It’s inspiring to see our first recipients graduate and enter the workforce. Knowing that the Spherion franchise community has helped create opportunities for the next generation is truly rewarding.”

For the past five years, Spherion franchise owners have celebrated Mazur’s impactful career by donating to the scholarship fund as one way of keeping her “pay it forward” mentality at the forefront of their businesses. Her willingness to “go the extra mile” for others has inspired Spherion franchisees to help students further their education through college, technical or skilled training. This past spring, at the Spherion National Meeting, franchisees went the extra mile by hosting an online and live auction fundraiser for the scholarship, which resulted in the group raising nearly double the amounts it has raised in past years. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to scholarship recipients.

The Spherion Scholarship Advisory Board, led by franchisees Beth DeLaney and Michael Chalmers, coordinates with Ohio-based nonprofit The Richland County Foundation to review hundreds of applicants and choose the finalists. From there, franchise community representatives, including DeLaney, Chalmers, and Mazur, choose the winners. With names and locations removed, the group reviewed the applicants and selected Turner and DeGraaff.

“The Sandy Mazur Scholarship is one of our most cherished events at Spherion. Supporting these outstanding students helps us live our vision to drive careers, grow businesses, and better the communities we call home. We are proud of every applicant this year, and we are thrilled to honor Kimarra and Hannah,” said Kathy George, president of Spherion. “These students are already making a difference in their communities, just like my former mentor and dear friend, Sandy Mazur advocated for. I’m so proud of how our franchisees came together to raise the most money in the history of this scholarship to help fund the education of three extremely deserving applicants.”

Family Fun: Celebree School Shares New Ways to Encourage Skill Development During the Summer

Early Childhood Education Franchise Highlights 3 Activities for all Members of the Family to Get Outside this Summer

BALTIMORE — Between summer camps, trips to the beach, and time outdoors, the summer is a busy season to pack in all the fun before back-to-school begins. With that, Celebree School, a leader in early childhood education that provides infant and toddler care, preschool, before and aftercare, and summer camp programs, urges families to use this summer to develop their children’s life skills by engaging in new activities together.

Summer is a season filled with fun for kids; however, it is also a time where children learn and advance essential life skills such as empathy and creativity, as well as healthy habits such as family bonding and an active lifestyle. These skills are fueled even further by parental involvement and supervision. That’s why Celebree School experts implore parents to take an active role in their children’s summer plans and engage in fun activities the whole family will enjoy.

“90% of a child’s brain develops before the age of 5,” said Kristen Miller, Director of Education at Celebree School. “If in that time a child is exposed to healthy habits, family bonding, and the learning opportunities outdoor exploration can afford, they are setting themselves up for a lifetime of positive habits and a balanced lifestyle.”

As the leading experts in early childhood education, Celebree School offers the following activities that can harness and develop new skills, incorporate the whole family, and offer a fun and inexpensive summer experience:

  1. Gardening: Whether you are tending a big patch of land with an assortment of fruits and vegetables or a few potted herbs on a patio, the benefits of gardening with your children are the same.

Learning where food comes from and how to take care of plants helps a child make the connection between the garden and their meals. Physically planting seeds and digging in the dirt assists in strengthening fine motor skills and big muscle skills and gets them outside in the fresh air and reduces a sedentary lifestyle.

  2. Water Play: Throw on a bathing suit and play in water! This can be your own pool, a community pool, splashpad, an inflatable kiddie pool, sprinkler, water in buckets and some sponges, or a local stream or river in a nearby park.

Children love to explore the texture and sensations of water and benefit from the natural stress relief that water offers. Give a child some measuring cups and spoons and turn this into an experiment that includes math talk and exploring water displacement theories. Jumping, splashing, and swimming all further develop gross motor skills; just be sure to practice water safety!

  3. Catch Fireflies: This is a free activity that can be done right in your own backyard or nearby park. Grab a mason jar, punch some holes in the lid and go outside and catch lightening bugs!

These little bugs are a great introduction to insects for your child and will show them that bugs are not scary. Use this time to teach your child about bioluminescence and actually use the word, bioluminescence, to describe the chemical reaction that causes the bug to light up. Talk about how they use these lights to communicate with each other, perhaps even make up what the bugs are saying to one another, this helps encourage children to be creative.

While outdoor play is extremely vital, Celebree recommends incorporating family outing days and camp into children’s summer routines as well. Whether it be the zoo, a park, museums, or other local family venues, the Celebree team underscores the importance of socializing outside of the household for developing communication and empathy skills.

Camp is another avenue for children to grow these skills, as it allows them to engage in new activities and socialize with peers their age. This year, Celebree Summer Camps saw an impressive 93% enrollment across its 26 camps, where children participate in themed days, classic summer activities, and travel to off-site venues like the movies, laser tag, pottery painting, and more, giving them opportunities to meet new people and try new things.

“Exposing children to new ideas, places, hobbies and more all open a child’s mind to broadened ideas and new passions,” continues Miller. “Children learn from their surrounding and activities they are exposed to. By providing them with new facets to explore, you open the opportunity for future development.”

With programs available for children six weeks to 12 years old, Celebree School lives by its promise to Grow People Big and Small™. The brand was founded on the belief that success in early childhood development is equal parts curriculum and a connection that extends beyond the classroom to address the needs of the whole child and the whole family. Curriculums are designed to develop positive social skills and values while allowing children to learn about the world through age-appropriate play, projects, and activities.
