Xponential Fitness Expanding International Footprint with a Deal Down Under.

IRVINE, Calif. — CycleBar, the largest indoor cycling brand, announced today that it has signed a Master Franchise Agreement in Australia, which gives the Master Franchisee the right to license at least 45 CycleBar studios to potential franchisees in the country over the next several years. CycleBar is one of  eight brands owned by Xponential Fitness, a curator of leading boutique fitness brands with over 1,500 studios open worldwide as of March 31, 2020.

The Australia agreement is in collaboration with CycleBar and entrepreneurs Matt and Bill Gordin, a father and son team currently based in Perth, Western Australia. The Gordins have extensive experience in the cycling world, with Matt recently appointed as CEO of BikeExchange USA, a large marketplace for bicycle products. Saladworks Donates Over 1,145 Meals to Healthcare Workers since Launch of ‘Fives for Lives’ Fundraising Campaign with a Goal of 5,000 Meals

National Salad Franchise Doubles Down on Efforts Heading into National Nurses Week.

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, restaurants have been doing everything they can to keep serving their guests, but for Saladworks, the nation’s leading fast-casual salad franchise, it’s also about lifting up those who serve and protect the originality of its communities. For the past several weeks, the popular salad brand has exemplified this with more than $5,725 raised and 1,145 meals donated to hospitals and first responders through its charitable Fives for Lives campaign. With National Nurses Week beginning May 6, Saladworks is doubling down on its efforts to achieve its goal of raising $25,000 in donations – or 5,000 meals — as many states have yet to hit their peak number of COVID-19 cases.

Fives for Lives gives guests the option to contribute $5 through their local Saladworks – or via www.fivesforlives.com –on behalf of healthcare workers who are on the front lines of this pandemic. Each $5 contribution is matched with a free meal provided to a local hospital from Saladworks. The more ‘fives’ someone contributes, the more meals donated, which consist of one of Saladworks’ original Signature Salads, including the popular Cobb Salad, Farmhouse Salad, Sophie’s Salad, Mediterranean Salad and Bently Salad among other favorites. When possible, Saladworks franchise owners, company operators and team members also collect signatures with well wishes from the guests who contribute “fives” to give every Signature salad donated a personal touch.

“The coronavirus has impacted us all in various ways – none more so than those in the healthcare community who are fighting this pandemic on the front lines every single day,” said Kelly Roddy, Saladworks CEO. “Given that many of our franchisees and team members have family members who are nurses, we are especially grateful for their service to help keep our communities safe and healthy during this difficult, uncertain time. At Saladworks, our goal is to help nourish their minds, bodies and spirits as we celebrate all the nurses throughout this week and beyond.”

Every Friday, participating Saladworks restaurants have been tracking the number of contributions made throughout the week, then preparing and delivering a commensurate number of Saladworks meals to a local healthcare partner serving its community. Some of the hospitals that have received generous donations include Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA, Jefferson Hospital in Cherry Hill, NJ and Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in Chesapeake, VA among many others.

“There is nothing more rewarding than the feeling that comes with giving back to your community,” said Ike Carabases, co-owner of Saladworks in Cherry Hill, NJ. “Each Friday when my staff and I drop off the donations at Jefferson Hospital in Cherry Hill, the energy in the room immediately flips from gloom to joy. Healthcare workers and first responders are sacrificing so much right now that every little act of kindness we can do for them makes a difference.”

Along with the Fives for Lives campaign, Saladworks is doing its part to serve guests through the pandemic by offering free delivery on orders placed through its website as well as specific delivery specials via its partners at Door Dash, GrubHub and Uber Eats. In all cases, each Saladworks meal is freshly prepared and served in tamper-resistant packaging with curbside service available for the health and safety of its guests.

Saladworks, which has been in business for more than 30 years, has always placed a focus on guest originality through its array of over 60 fresh, flavorful and healthy ingredients. In addition to its Signature recipes, Saladworks offers create-your-own options, including salads, wraps, grain bowls and more. For more information about the menu and current offers, visit www.saladworks.com. To make a contribution to Fives for Lives, visit www.fivesforlives.com.

Interim HealthCare Inc. Launches National Nurses Week Campaign, “The Year of Us”, to Honor Nurses and Legacy of Florence Nightingale

2020-05-06T10:32:17-04:00May 6th, 2020|Tags: , , , |

Interim HealthCare executives and owners reflect on their life-changing moments as nurses; company launches history of Florence Nightingale remote learning lesson plan for K-5 children.

SUNRISE, Fla.Interim HealthCare Inc., the nation’s leading franchise network of home care, senior care, home health and hospice and healthcare staffing services, announced today the launch of “The Year of Us,” a campaign to unify messages of support and gratitude toward the nation’s nurses, including employees of Interim HealthCare and especially those fighting on the front line against COVID-19.

In times of immense gratitude for nurses nationwide, the campaign celebrates and marks National Nurses Week, May 6-12, 2020. To honor the legacy of Florence Nightingale, Interim HealthCare has also launched a remote learning mini lesson plan for parents and educators to leverage with school-aged children.

Interim HealthCare believes the indelible influence left by Florence Nightingale is now timelier than ever as she envisioned the future of healthcare being at home. A trailblazer in the nursing profession, Florence Nightingale’s work set the standards for modern nursing by campaigning for better public health practices, including innovative hygiene, safety and social distancing techniques. She believed in leveraging data and statistics to advocate and advance the science of nursing and helped promote the importance of supplies and what would later include items considered personal protective equipment (PPE). In 1870, Florence Nightingale was quoted saying, “It will take 150 years for the world to see the kind of nursing I envision.” – and here we are, living amid a global pandemic where her vision has become reality.

“As healthcare’s brightest guiding lights, we celebrate the work of nurses throughout the ages and advocate for their profession and their safety on the job,” said Jennifer Sheets, Interim HealthCare Inc. president and CEO. “When patients look into the eyes of a nurse, they often seek comfort, a spark of hope. It is in those exchanges, the hands held and the tears shed, that bring them back to their jobs every day. As a nurse, I know what it is like to have these moments, and they are my motivation to do the best for the healthcare industry to this very day.”

To celebrate the launch of “The Year of Us,” Interim HealthCare is asking nurses, “What’s your #FloMent?” – the defining moment in a nursing career inspired by Florence Nightingale, a time when their career embodied the character, convictions and vision that made Florence Nightingale extraordinary. As a leader in home care services, Interim HealthCare is proud to have a leadership team with more former nurses than any other franchise or home healthcare team across the country. Several of them reflect and share their #FloMents as a deep and heart-felt thank you for nurses, by nurses:

  • Darlyn Baker, RN and owner of Interim HealthCare of Bakersfield: “My #FloMent was in 1993. Being a hospital bedside nurse was like a hobby for me. It never seemed like a job. When I realized patients were leaving sicker and quicker and needing to be cared for by their families, I knew I could make a difference. I didn’t know a thing about home health care. I just knew that’s where I needed to be. That is why I established Interim HealthCare in Bakersfield.”
  • Jane Hinton, RN, CFE and Chief Clinical Officer at Interim HealthCare Inc.: “My #FloMent is tied to learning and growing and taking on a leadership role in nursing. That’s what Florence Nightingale embodied—she was a nursing leader. Throughout my career, I’ve looked to her as the model for what leadership in nursing should be and I’ve tried to emulate it through nursing education, leadership and advocacy.”
  • Sharon Collins, RN, CHPN and Chief Operating Officer of Interim HealthCare of Oklahoma City: “My #FloMent was in a local store, believe it or not. A woman whose father I had cared for recognized me, walked right up to me and hugged me. I sat with her father as he passed away, about five or six years prior. We proceeded to talk about her father, what he meant to her and how much the care meant to her family. As a nurse, I sat with many patients as they transitioned from this life to the next, and it was always special, always intimate. But, something in that moment made a lasting impression on her. It was a beautiful moment to know that something I did meant so much to her family. I remember thinking, ‘Wow, this is good.’ This is what I was supposed to do.”

Please join Interim HealthCare in expressing our collective gratitude and honoring the nurses who support our communities and the amazing contributions of nurses like Florence Nightingale have given the world. Nurses across the healthcare system are invited to define a moment in their nursing career that was inspired by Florence Nightingale – a time when they were empowered as a nurse, or felt that drive to make a real difference in healthcare using the social media hashtag #FloMent.

Among the many interactive activities planned for the week, nurses may also enter win multiple “The Year of Us” 2020 Nurses Week prizes including a care package with Hand & Stone gift cards for future spa treatments, sweet treats from Nothing Bundt Cakes as well as gear fit for nurses such as industry leading foot wear, a professional nursing bag and other equipment. Please visit www.2020ihcnursesweek.com to enter.

For parents and educators in need of engaging lessons for students (especially for those teaching remote learners), the team at Interim HealthCare developed a mini-lesson plan on the life, work and impact of Florence Nightingale. Her story, particularly relevant for those interested in science, math, and healthcare and for those who want to learn more about role model female leaders, is excellent content to integrate in this week or next week’s learning modules. Easy-to-do and manage-at-home activities include a short biography and video of Florence Nightingale, a discussion guide, ideas for scavenger hunts, games, coloring pages, and more. Materials will be available on the Interim HealthCare Nurses Week website.

For more information on Interim HealthCare’s celebration of Nurses Week, please visit www.2020ihcnursesweek.com.

STRIDE Partners with Road Runner Sports to Host Virtual Race for Runners Nationwide

2020-05-06T10:00:17-04:00May 6th, 2020|Tags: , , , , |

Runners and Walkers Can Sign Up to Complete 5K or 10K Distance on Global Running Day.

IRVINE, Calif. — STRIDE, the national boutique fitness franchise that offers treadmill-based cardio and strength workouts, announced today it has partnered with Road Runner Sports, the world’s largest running and walking store, to host a national virtual race June 3, 2020, which is Global Running Day. Registration is now open through May 31 for a $35 entry fee, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to Feeding America®. Those who sign up will receive a downloadable bib number, branded t-shirt, finish line photo and participation medal along with a training plan from STRIDE and access to the brand’s “Go the Distance While You Keep Your Distance” Facebook Page, which offers daily running, strength training, and recovery workouts.

“I’ve been in the running business a long time—37 years—and I’ve seen the industry change dramatically with the times,” said Mike Gotfredson, CEO and founder of Road Runner Sports. “That’s why I believe virtual races like the one we’re creating with STRIDE are a big part of the future of running. It’s a fun, safe way for runners and walkers all over America and the world to connect.”

With social distancing guidelines still in effect in most states, runners and walkers across the nation can sign up to run a 5K or 10K distance by themselves indoors on a treadmill or outdoors on a street, track, beach or trail. On race day, participants will submit a photo of their treadmill or screenshot from their tracking device that shows their distance and pace, as well as a photo of themselves at the “finish line” via STRIDE’s custom race day landing page. STRIDE will then livestream these posts on the landing page and share all of the photos through social media to commemorate everyone’s success.

“With so many big races cancelled across the country due to coronavirus, we are excited to partner with Road Runner Sports to give runners a safe event to train for and participate in,” said Jeff Stokes, President of STRIDE. “This virtual race is truly for everybody. You can walk, jog or run the distance inside or outside, however you are most comfortable, and celebrate with thousands of other runners across the nation when you finish.”

STRIDE has always prided itself on the notion that anybody can be a runner regardless of age, fitness level or ability. Founded in 2017 and part of the Xponential Fitness family of brands, the boutique fitness brand offers treadmill-based workouts that provide a mix of cardio and strength intervals, all performed on their state-of-the-art Woodway Treadmills. With three core class formats and a unique leveling system that allows clients to take every class as a walker or runner, each individual is able to find the workout that best aligns with their fitness abilities and goals.

While STRIDE has temporarily closed its studios’ doors during the current pandemic, running has seen a boom in popularity as it’s one of the few activities that allows people to get outside and exercise in a safe manner.

“We have to find the silver lining in these difficult times,” said Stokes. “We may not be able to help people discover their inner runners with our studio classes right now, but STRIDE and Road Runner Sports together want to do our part to keep everyone active and healthy. This virtual race is just one of the many exciting ways we can do that until everyone is able to safely return to the boutique fitness setting. We can still go the distance while we social distance.”

STRIDE currently has two locations in California, and over 50 in development in cities across the country, including Scottsdale, Jacksonville Beach, Chicago, Tulsa, Dallas and Knoxville. For more information about STRIDE, visit www.runwithstride.com. To sign up for the virtual race, visit https://lp.runwithstride.com/virtual-race.

Interim HealthCare Inc. Extends HomeLife Enrichment® Standard of Care to Meet Comprehensive COVID-19 Patient and Family Needs

2020-05-04T09:46:06-04:00May 4th, 2020|Tags: , , , |

Home healthcare leader prepares for surge in discharged COVID-19 patients seeking whole-person, individualized care at home.

SUNRISE, Fla. — Interim HealthCare Inc., the nation’s leading franchise network of home care, senior care, home health and hospice and healthcare staffing services, today announced the extension of its HomeLife Enrichment® signature standard of care to meet the comprehensive needs of COVID-19 patients at home, and to support families with educational tools and resources.

As a surge of COVID-19 patients are released from hospitals to recover at home, Interim HealthCare nurses, clinicians and caregivers are prepared to meet their comprehensive needs in the setting they prefer. Through its HomeLife Enrichment® signature standard of care, that encompasses the mind, body, spirit and family, Interim HealthCare strives to improve the overall health and wellbeing of its patients and those around them.

“The home is the safest place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to support continued patient recovery,” said Jennifer Sheets, Interim HealthCare Inc. president and CEO. “With this pandemic, the need to create customized, patient-centered care has never been more important. By working to help boost emotional health, mental acuity and involving the family in care plans for COVID-19 diagnosed individuals, patients benefit from improved wellbeing. We recognize that care is not just about treating a diagnosis and our goal is to heal the whole person inside and out. Our HomeLife Enrichment signature standard of care incorporates all the factors that can improve a person’s health.”

The Interim HealthCare COVID-19 HomeLife Enrichment signature standard of care combines the following areas and best practices to improve mental, emotional and physical health:

  • Mind: Providing tools to educate caregivers and families on how to prevent the spread of and recognize the signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Leading with current recommendations and evolving CDC and local and state health department’s guidance.
  • Body: From using personal protective equipment (PPE) to facilitating early COVID-19 screening and following best practices to prevent transmission for caregivers, patients and their families, home care clinicians are helping to flatten the curve. As researchers uncover post-recovery side-effects, the program will further evolve to support a full continuum of anticipated specialty areas, including respiratory, rehabilitation (including physical and occupational therapies) and other yet-to-be-determined therapies.
  • Spirit: Maintaining an upbeat attitude has many health and recovery benefits. With such a socially isolating virus, by helping patients connect with loved ones virtually, listen to music, play recreational games or participate in artistic activities, caregivers can use an array of tools to increase mental acuity and emotional health in the recovery process.
  • Family: For the best outcomes, family members are actively integrated into care plans. Interim HealthCare partners with the family at the center of its care model by sharing educational COVID-19 resources, maintaining communication, supporting emergency response, managing household functions, risk assessment and contingency planning.

As hospitals and emergency departments look for reliable ways to divert patients with less intense symptoms to avoid overcrowding, having an extended continuum of care in the home becomes incredibly valuable. By helping to transition COVID-19 patients that are ready or who could be monitored in the home, Interim HealthCare will use its HomeLife Enrichment signature standard of care to provide the comprehensive services needed to improve their overall health and wellbeing.

In addition to helping to prevent the spread and treating patients for COVID-19, all Interim HealthCare specialty programs, including cognitive care with a focus on dementia, diabetes, heart disease and chronic care fall under its HomeLife Enrichment signature standard of care offerings.

Caregivers are trained to find ways to empower patients at home, regardless of their age, health or disability. This whole-person standard of care helps people live safe and independently, while improving their dignity, purpose and self-worth.

Nation’s Leading Home Maintenance, Repair and Improvement Company Celebrates National Pet Month with Photos of Rule-Breaking Pets, Damage Repair Tips.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — With much of the nation staying at home, pet parents everywhere are sharing the fun, as well as the turmoil, that pets can bring. The nation’s leading home maintenance, repair and improvement franchise, Mr. Handyman, a Neighborly company, shows pet owners they are not alone by celebrating National Pet Month this May with the fourth annual “My ‘Pet’ Peeves” photo contest.

To enter the “My ‘Pet’ Peeves” photo contest, visit: https://neighborly-brands.app.do/mr-handyman-presents-my-pet-peeves-photo-contest and submit a photo of your own pet mayhem. Ideas include a pet’s yard damage, annihilated shoes, in-home destruction, getting into the snack drawer, or just their cute face by May 31, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. CT. Dogs, cats, horses, hamsters, reptiles, bunnies, turtles, and more are welcome. Mr. Handyman will reward five random winners with a $250 PetSmart gift card to show that even though they can really get on our nerves, they are still loved!

“Pets are great companions that can help homeowners across the nation stick through stay-at-home orders, but sometimes that joy can be overridden by the effects they have on our homes,” said Mr. Handyman President J.B. Sassano. “Our professional Mr. Handyman technicians understand the importance of pets in so many peoples’ lives and have helped homeowners nationwide install pet doors, repair floors and replace trim and screens to help make pet ownership that much easier. We’re thrilled to bring back this photo contest for the fourth time during National Pet Month to allow pet owners everywhere to share photos and be entertained by each other’s pets’ crazy antics.”

Additionally, Mr. Handyman offers the following tips to assist pet owners with common pet problems:

  • Repair Chewed Drywall: To fix drywall that may have been gnawed at by a puppy or anxious dog, scrape loose debris from holes or dents and cover with fast-drying spackle. Let dry for at least 24 hours and conceal repairs with a bit of touch-up paint. While small bite holes are easy to camouflage, years of covering damage can eventually lead to uneven drywall.
  • Protect the Floors: Pets can damage hardwood flooring simply by walking on it. Protect hardwood by maintaining claw length and keeping area rugs around the house for pets to lie on. Fix minor scratches with floor cleaner and protective finish. Clean the scratch with a damp cloth, scrub the cleaner over the scratch, and repeat with a clean cloth to rinse away hardwood cleaner.
  • Safeguard Wood: Wood is often a target for pets who chew or scratch. The easiest protection plan is to add plastic sheeting or PVC tubing around table and chair legs to prevent claw and bite marks. Save doors by adding clear, plastic sheeting.
