Interim HealthCare leads chorus of gratitude for all nurses, calls the industry to action, and inspires next generation of those called to the profession.

SUNRISE, Fla. — Interim HealthCare Inc., the nation’s leading franchise network of home healthcare, personal care, healthcare staffing and hospice services, announced today the launch of “Beyond Gratitude: Appreciate | Advocate,” a campaign to unify messages of appreciation and advocacy toward nurses across healthcare, including clinicians of Interim HealthCare.

Showing Gratitude
By launching “Beyond Gratitude: Appreciate | Advocate,” with the start of National Nurses Week, May 6-12, 2021, Interim HealthCare is inviting all corners of society to partake in an authentic and visible expression of thanks for nurses. Everyone is encouraged to celebrate the nurses in their lives (not just those in home healthcare) on Interim HealthCare’s digital Wall of Gratitude including: patients and clients served by nurses, nurses who are inspired by fellow nurses daily or who would like to extend their gratitude to past and current mentors, healthcare leaders who would like to thank their frontline teams and more.

Visit the 2021 National Nurses Week Wall of Gratitude here.

Advocating for Nurses
Nurses take an oath to practice the profession faithfully. However, the reality the last 15 months revealed is that many healthcare workers are exposed to immense challenges and risks daily. This year’s National Nurses Week and always, Interim HealthCare commits to advocating for all nurses that consistently put the profession, patients and their families first. A powerful message from Interim HealthCare’s President and CEO, Jennifer Sheets, RN, MSN, restates the company’s allegiance to advocating for:

  • The essential worker status of all home healthcare providers and assured access to necessary protective equipment for themselves and their patients.
  • Building awareness for the case to increase home healthcare reimbursement rates which remain comparatively low for home health nurses, clinicians and other home healthcare paraprofessionals in contrast to the overarching benefit and public health value they deliver across the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Enhancing education around the field of post-acute care and highlighting home healthcare as a meaningful and purpose-filled nursing career path. Raising awareness about its professional benefits, such as a deeper connection with patients, full visibility into their health journey through one-on-one care and flexible, predictable schedules.
  • Educating, training and equipping healthcare professionals (both early career and seasoned) with development opportunities and continued innovation in the home healthcare delivery process anchored in holistic, patient-centered support.

You may read Jennifer Sheets’ Open Letter to Nurses here.

Through a collaborative partnership with American College of Education (ACE), Interim HealthCare is demonstrating its commitment to nurse-centered advocacy by offering:

  • Two sponsored scholarships to a first-of-its-kind Certificate in Telehealth program, developed by ACE. Two nurses will be randomly selected to attend this online program (at no cost) and in turn, advance their skills and professional expertise. The certificate and three continuing education units (CEU) are earned by taking the following three courses over a five-week session: Trends in Telehealth Delivery, Telehealth Leadership & Management, and Legal and Ethical Issues in Telehealth. Nurses can learn more and enter the drawing for the scholarship giveaway here: https://bit.ly/IE_CTH
  • A live webinar designed to build awareness among licensed nurses around the rewarding and underappreciated aspects of post-acute care. The live course, hosted by clinical and academic leaders, will review the transformational role post-acute nursing provides patients and their families, their identity and meaningful impact as a nurse and to the community at large. Offered for free, licensed nurses will earn one CEU credit and receive a certificate of completion by attending the webinar and participating in the live Q&A that follows.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 2 p.m. EST

“Nurses across our healthcare system consistently put the well-being of others before themselves – as a nurse myself, I understand these sacrifices and have immense gratitude for their commitment,” said Jennifer Sheets, Interim HealthCare Inc. president and CEO. “The unyielding demand on nurses over the last year has tested both professional and personal limits at times, but our nurses never backed down. Nurses carried this country through a historic period in modern medicine and please know that Interim HealthCare is beyond grateful for your role. We will always elevate the nursing profession and advocate for your value, safety and health on the job.”

Among the many interactive activities planned for the week, nurses may also enter to win multiple “Beyond Gratitude: Appreciate | Advocate” 2021 Nurses Week prizes including two $500 gift cards and daily drawings of $100 gift cards to allheart.com, the nation’s leading online supplier of medical apparel, footwear, accessories and personal diagnostic equipment. Interim HealthCare has also prepared a mini lesson plan for parents and educators to leverage with school-aged children. Saladworks has ‘Revolutionized’ the Salad Experience!

2021-05-04T09:48:29-04:00May 4th, 2021|Tags: , , , |

Kicks Off National Saladworks Month with New Globally Inspired Menu and Flavor Your World Campaign.

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — Saladworks, the nation’s leading fast-casual create-your-own salad franchise and part of the WOWorks family of brands, has launched a new “WOW!” menu designed to ‘revolutionize’ the salad experience for its guests.  This is the most ambitious menu update in the brand’s 35-year history and, combined with its training and operations-led Vow to “WOW!” guest hospitality program, will ‘revolve’ everything around the specific needs, wants and desires of its Millennial family and Gen Z guests.  All based upon the shared 4 ME characteristics of Personalization, Customization, Self-Expression and Connection:

May is known as National Salad Month; however, Saladworks has renamed it, National Saladworks Month based upon its comprehensive and integrated plan to revolutionize the Salad experience in a variety of ways.

  • Revolutionizing its famous Create Your Own menu category by adding the option for guests to create a customized Salad, a Warm Grain Bowl — or a mixture of both — built upon a Base of greens, grains or both.
  • Revolutionizing its Chef-created Signatures menu category by adding the option for guests to order any one of them as a Salad, a Warm Grain Bowl — or a mixture of both — built upon a Base of greens, grains or both. in addition to adding six exciting new global and regional flavor profiles (e.g., Asian, Mediterranean, Greek, Southwestern Chipotle, Smoky BBQ, Farmers Market).
  • Revolutionizing its Wraps with the ability for guests to order a Create Your Own or any of its 12 Signatures recipes in the form of a portable, hand-held Wrap — “The First Salad You Can Eat With Your Hands!”
  • Revolutionizing its Pick 2 and Saladworks Catering menu categories by enhancing an already high-perceived value proposition by providing guests with (many) more options from which to Flavor Their Originality.

In a bold move to capitalize on the popularity of global and regional flavor profiles, Saladworks is launching a summer-long Flavor Your World campaign that will feature its six adventurous new recipes – each of which can be ordered by a guest in whatever way they choose – as a Salad, a Warm Grain Bowl or a Wrap – for the same price. The new Signature menu items represent different flavors and cultures from around the world including: Asian Crispy Chicken Wrap (China); Grilled Chicken Mediterranean (Italy); Smoky BBQ Crispy Chicken (Kansas City); Southwest Chipotle Ranch (Mexico); Classic Greek (Greece); and Farmers Market (California).

In a pent-up world waiting for travel advisories to be lifted, people are continuing to find other ways to satisfy their need for adventure. Just in time for summer vacations, the new Saladworks Flavor Your World menu will be available for exploration through a unique “Flavor Passport” — exclusively for Saladworks Rewards members only.

From May 3rd through June 12th, Saladworks Rewards members will have the opportunity to try each of the six new Signature menu items and receive a post check-in email with a custom ‘passport stamp’ representing each region to add to their “Flavor Passport.” Guests will receive 20 Bonus Points for their first check-in after ordering a new Signature menu item. If the guest tries all six new Signature Flavor Your World menu items during this timeframe, they will receive a Free Entrée, valid for fourteen days.

“At Saladworks, we have always believed that everything we do should ‘revolve’ around anticipating and fulfilling the needs, wants and desires of our guests,” said Mark Mears, Chief Marketing Officer of WOWorks. While other restaurant concepts are shrinking their menus, we’re doubling down on the 4 ME Millennial/Gen Z mindset featuring the desire for Personalization, Customization, Self-Expression and Connection that, together, creates a “WOW!” moment for our guests. We live in a Food Network culture, so the idea behind our Flavor your World campaign and its ‘Flavor Passport’ promotion is to generate awareness, trial and repeat of our six new Signature menu flavors; giving our guests a fun and safe way to travel around the globe without ever leaving the neighborhood!”

In addition to its ‘Flavor Passport’ promotion, Saladworks will also provide exclusive offers for its Saladworks Rewards members in May:

  • Extra Bonus Points on Teacher Appreciation Day and Memorial Day Weekend
  • Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO) promotion on Mother’s Day
  • Free Kids Works meal (with adult entrée purchase) on Cinco De Mayo and every Wednesday in May
  • A $5.17 Wraps Special to wrap up tax season on Tax Day
  • And $2 Off any Pick 2 every Tuesday

Saladworks, which has been in business for 35 years, has always placed a focus on guest originality through its array of over 60 fresh, flavorful and healthy ingredients. In addition to its Signature recipes, Saladworks offers create-your-own options, including Salads, Warm Grain Bowls, Wraps and more.

Chief Strategy and Development Officer for Batteries Plus Makes List of Top 40 Professionals in the Retail Industry.

HARTLAND, Wis. — After receiving the largest nomination pool in the competition’s seven-year history, Retail TouchPoints and design:retail has named Jon Sica, Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Batteries Plus, one of the top 40 professionals in the retail industry under the age of 40.

The select group of young executives are paving the way for the next era of retail and was compromised of founders, CEOs, creative directors, design managers, marketing executives, ecommerce gurus, VPs and many more changemakers. Sica was one of 40 individuals that met the following criteria:

  • Shining stars in their company and in the industry;
  • Have completed innovative and remarkable work; and
  • Contribute greatly to education or associations supporting the retail community.

From his modest start writing Cabela’s catalogs to driving expansion for the nation’s largest and fastest-growing omni-channel retail franchise, Sica has blazed a trail by mixing the art and science of business to find success across big box, QSR and franchise companies. He focuses on not just defining successful strategies – he connects them to people and execution in a way that delivers consistent, predictable results for shareholders while building a “big tent” that allows many to share and participate in the wins. Sica’s biggest contribution in retail has been in communicating strategy as his background in marketing allows him to visualize and articulate business strategy in a way that’s understandable from the board of directors to hourly employees. A self-professed process geek that enjoys relentlessly and methodically solving tough problems – like post-acquisition integration and building a sales program from scratch – in innovative ways that prioritizes people in addition to business results, Sica has helped Batteries Plus find success in challenging market place.

“I am truly humbled to accept this award from Retail Touchpoints and design:retail and be a part of such a prestigious group of leaders who contribute to the global retail community in positive ways,” said Sica. “It is an honor to be ranked amongst some of the greatest professionals in the retail industry and I am proud to represent Batteries Plus among such an outstanding list of companies and young leaders. This honor is not just a reflection on me, but the entire best-in-class team we have at Batteries Plus.”

Some of Sica’s biggest contributions in 2020 were quickly helping the organization and 260+ franchise owners stay connected during the pandemic, from regional calls with owners to walk through cleaning practices to first-of-their-kind video features and podcasts – he took internal communications to the next level to drive success. Other notable achievements include:

  • Instituted daily “war room” meetings during the pandemic to respond that help keep all stores operating as “essential” business during the pandemic, while the brand implemented contactless curbside in under 48 hours nationwide, and helped franchisees respond to sales trends to have several record-breaking months in 2020.
  • Executed the largest store acquisition in company history – not once, but twice – in the midst of a pandemic, while implementing new integrations processes that helped employees keep their jobs while posting sales increases in the time after acquisition.
  • Hired and transformed a new part of his organization during the pandemic – onboarding, aligning and defining new processes 100% virtually, while beating the annual plan goal in only half a year with 30 franchise signings.

“We are proud to continue the legacy of the 40 Under 40 Awards program, recognizing the achievements and outstanding work of the retail industry’s next generation of leaders,” said Jessie Dowd, Senior Editor of Retail TouchPoints. “Elevating those individuals who have used their brilliant minds and dedicated drive to propel retail forward is essential to fostering continued innovation across the industry at large.”
