Xponential Fitness, Inc. Announces Exclusive Strategic Development Agreement with the Operator of the LA Fitness and City Sports Club Brands

2021-11-04T12:27:43-04:00November 4th, 2021|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

The agreement expands Xponential’s footprint and membership base by bringing its boutique fitness brand studios to over 500 LA Fitness and City Sports Club locations across the country.

IRVINE, Calif. — Xponential Fitness, Inc. (NYSE: XPOF) (“Xponential” or “the Company”), a curator of leading boutique fitness brands, and Fitness International, LLC, operator of LA Fitness (“LAF”) and City Sports Club (“CSC”), today announced an exclusive development agreement. The agreement lays out a minimum development of over 350 franchised locations over five years to add Xponential brands in more than 500 Fitness International locations.

This development commitment will afford Xponential Fitness the opportunity to invite existing franchisees who own a studio with an LAF or CSC location within their protected territory to open an Xponential brand studio inside of these locations. A membership to an Xponential brand studio within an LAF or CSC facility will be available to existing gym members for an additional cost.

Studio development time and buildout costs of these locations will be less than those of a traditional standalone studio, and existing franchise partners will have an opportunity to drive additional revenues while operating these locations free of initial franchise fees and lower marketing fund fees. AUVs at these locations are expected to be lower than those of traditional studio locations; however, this opportunity provides for reduced operating costs than standalone studios.

“We are pleased to enter into an exclusive development agreement with Fitness International to further our mission of making boutique fitness accessible to everyone, increasing our total addressable market, and providing expansion opportunities to our franchisees,” said Anthony Geisler, CEO of Xponential Fitness, Inc. “This provides a unique opportunity for franchisees to increase their reach and overall revenue generation within their protected territories. We look forward to delivering best-in-class boutique fitness to the LA Fitness and City Sports Club communities.”

“We are proud to welcome Xponential brand studios to our LA Fitness and City Sports Club locations,” said Jill Grueling, President, Club Operations of Fitness International. “Xponential will bring additional high-quality fitness experiences to our members. We are confident their boutique fitness brands will provide an excellent complement to our members’ existing workout routines.”

Development of Xponential Fitness brand studios within Fitness International locations is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2022 and will not have an immediate impact on Company revenues during the current calendar year. Management looks forward to updating the investment community further on the strategic benefits of this partnership on its upcoming third quarter earnings conference call on November 11, 2021 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. More information on the third quarter earnings call can be found on Xponential’s investor relations website.

“Xponential Fitness is excited to collaborate with the Gordins once again to bring another Xponential Fitness brand to Australia,” said John Kersh, Chief International Development Officer for Xponential Fitness. “The Gordins have exceeded expectations with CycleBar, and I’m confident they will continue that trend with StretchLab, which will be a great complement to the diverse fitness scene in Australia.”

Xponential Fitness Lands Three Brands on Entrepreneur’s 2021 Franchise 500®

2021-01-25T14:31:17-05:00January 25th, 2021|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

Club Pilates, Pure Barre and CycleBar Rank at 104, 119, and 351 Respectively on the Coveted List.

IRVINE, Calif. — 2020 did not hold back the brands of Xponential Fitness, the largest curator of premium boutique fitness brands across eight different verticals. Three of the company’s brands – Club Pilates, Pure Barre and CycleBar – landed a spot in Entrepreneur magazine’s coveted 2021 Franchise 500 list as a result of another year of impressive unit growth, financial strength and stability and brand power. Club Pilates was ranked 104; Pure Barre was ranked 119, up from its previous spot of 300; and CycleBar landed at 351, up 128 spots from last year.

“The strong showing on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 across these three Xponential Fitness brands demonstrates that boutique fitness is here to stay and the best is yet to come,” said Sarah Luna, President of Xponential Fitness. “Our members love the world-class workouts and unmatched sense of community we provide, whether that’s inside our studios or virtually, and these rankings are a testament to our franchise owners’ passion, commitment and hard work day in and day out, especially given the challenges 2020 presented them.”

In Entrepreneur’s continuing effort to best understand and evaluate the ever-changing franchise marketplace, the company’s 42-year-old ranking formula continues to evolve as well. The key factors that go into the evaluation include costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability. Each franchise is given a cumulative score based on an analysis of more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500® in ranking order.

While some fitness brands struggled to find their footing following the onset of the pandemic and other challenges that arose in 2020, Xponential Fitness proved to be a beacon of resilience and creativity in the industry. When adversity struck, franchise owners were empowered to pivot by offering outdoor and virtual workouts, with some brands even renting out equipment to keep members healthy and engaged. The company’s strategies have proven effective as it has retained more than 86% of members across all eight brands, which also include YogaSix, Row House, StretchLab, AKT, and STRIDE.

Xponential Fitness also saw extensive growth over the past year, signing numerous franchise deals and opening new locations around the world, even at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. Notably, the company opened five brands in Saudi Arabia, including Club Pilates, Pure Barre, AKT, YogaSix, and CycleBar locations, as well as the first of many CycleBar studios in Australia. Exciting new franchise agreements signed will also bring Xponential studios to Germany, Singapore, Spain and the Dominican Republic.

Beyond the in-studio experience in 2020, Xponential debuted online workouts across all of its brands last year through its proprietary streaming platform called GO, bringing premium classes directly to consumers’ homes.

To view Pure Barre, Club Pilates and CycleBar in the full ranking, visit www.entrepreneur.com/franchise500. Results can also be seen in the January/February 2021 issue of Entrepreneur, available on newsstands January 26. For more information about all Xponential Fitness brands, visit www.xponential.com.

StretchLab to Debut in Canada, Marking First International Studio

2020-11-11T12:36:07-05:00November 11th, 2020|Tags: , , , , , , |

Boutique Stretching Concept to Open First Canadian Studio in Toronto in Early 2021.

IRVINE, Calif. The nation’s premier assisted stretching franchise, StretchLab, announced today that it will open its first international studio in Toronto, Canada at the beginning of 2021. As demand for wellness services like assisted stretching continues to increase around the globe amidst the coronavirus pandemic, StretchLab is well-positioned for growth and success outside of the United States, where it already has nearly 100 locations open.

StretchLab’s expansion into Canada is being driven by a franchise agreement with Toronto resident Kevin McKague, who is also a university professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy. The Toronto studio will be his first venture into business ownership and the perfect way to apply his many years of expertise.

“I’m incredibly excited to bring StretchLab to Canada,” said McKague. “As a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy, I wanted to invest in a brand that I believed will be successful, had a great support team and will benefit my local community in Toronto.”

At StretchLab, clients work one-on-one with highly trained Flexologists™ in an open, modern and friendly environment to increase mobility and flexibility and achieve a deeper, more advanced stretch than one can get on their own. Once an oft-neglected and overlooked area of fitness, deep stretching is scientifically proven to be one of the most effective ways to decrease pain, lower risk of injury and provide people the ability to perform better at work, in the gym and in everyday life.

“With nearly 100 locations open in the US, we are thrilled to bring StretchLab to the Canadian market,” said Lou DeFrancisco, President of StretchLab. “We were very selective in awarding a franchise to our first international location, and we are confident that Kevin’s leadership background and passion for helping people will make him a fantastic StretchLab owner.”

This Canadian expansion is coming on the heels of an impressive year of growth and evolution for StretchLab. Despite the pandemic, the franchise has opened more than 24 studios in 2020, including new locations in California, Pennsylvania and Minnesota. On top of that, StretchLab rolled out the TRX MAPS machine, which identifies movement inefficiencies across four critical categories, in all of its studios earlier this year.

Xponential Fitness Debuts Five Boutique Fitness Brands in Saudi Arabia

2020-09-23T12:02:48-04:00September 23rd, 2020|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

Global Boutique Fitness Curator Opens Flagship Studios in EVOX Fitness and Wellness Clubs in Riyadh.

IRVINE, Calif. — As part of a major multi-brand deal, Xponential Fitness, the largest curator of boutique fitness brands in the world, opened its first studios in Saudi Arabia today. The newly opened studios represent the brands – Club Pilates, Pure Barre, CycleBar, YogaSix, and AKT – included in the Master Franchise Agreement signed last summer to bring more than 50 Xponential Fitness studios to the country over the next few years.

The initial studios are housed inside of the brand new, state-of-the-art EVOX Clubs, which have separate facilities for both men and women, in Riyadh. The EVOX Club for Women was created to serve the growing population of women seeking fitness options, following recent reforms in the country, and features studios for all five Xponential Fitness concepts. The EVOX Club for Men features the CycleBar brand.

“These openings are not only a huge step forward for Xponential Fitness and its brands, but a cultural milestone in Saudi Arabia as we introduce its citizens to the exhilarating world of boutique fitness,” said John Kersh, Chief International Development Officer for Xponential Fitness. “Notably, Xponential Fitness is excited to bring the benefits of boutique fitness to the women of Saudi Arabia, who are now able to pursue and embrace a lifestyle of health and wellness, which is a new development. We expect this will be one of hundreds more successful international openings for our brands.”

The studios opening in the EVOX Clubs in Riyadh mark the first collaboration between Xponential Fitness and Ezdihar Sports, one of the portfolio businesses of experienced industry leaders, the Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Company. The Alhokair company is publicly traded on the Saudi Stock Exchange, and operates in a range of industries including movie cinemas, food and beverage, construction and fashion retail, with over 1,700 stores across the Middle East.

After its initial overseas expansion, which began with the signing of a large-scale deal to bring 165 Club Pilates studios to Japan, two of which are now open, Xponential Fitness set its sights on further expansion outside the U.S. Since then, the company has signed deals to open studios in 11 countries, including Germany, Australia, South Korea, and Austria , lifting its reach to four continents. As of August 31, 2020, Xponential Fitness has over 1600 studios across its eight brands.

Leading Boutique Stretching Franchise Launches Revolutionary TRX MAPS Technology in Studios Nationwide

2020-01-07T16:45:19-05:00January 7th, 2020|Tags: , , , , , , |

StretchLab Stays a Cut Above with Machine that Measures and Analyzes Movement Inefficiencies

IRVINE, Calif. — StretchLab, the national assisted stretching franchise, is reaching for new heights with the integration of TRX MAPS Technology into its programming. The company announced today that the revolutionary machine which identifies movement inefficiencies across four critical categories – mobility, activation, posture and symmetry (MAPS) – will be rolling out in its 50-plus studios nationwide over the next few months, as well as all locations in development. StretchLab is the first assisted stretching brand to utilize this technology and has partnered with TRX to be the only assisted stretching brand that will use MAPS.

The TRX MAPS machine will be a huge asset to StretchLab’s offerings as technology continues to permeate the boutique fitness and wellness industry. MAPS uses 3-D technology to perform a total body movement assessment scan in under 30 seconds, as users perform 3 body-weight squats. Results are delivered on-screen and via email, which will allow StretchLab’s Flexologists to better serve the needs of its diverse members by fostering a customized movement plan and offering a measurable way to see progress in flexibility.

“With technology-driven and trackable workouts continually on the rise in the fitness industry, StretchLab is excited to bring this trend to the recovery space with the TRX MAPS machine,” said Lou DeFrancisco, President of StretchLab. “While the benefits of stretching and recovery are undeniable, we believe the integration of technology in this vertical will prove just how advanced and effective StretchLab’s programming and Flexologists are.”

Founded in 2015, StretchLab offers a variety of one-on-one personalized stretching services including a 25-minute stretch that concentrates on areas to focus on the client’s current stretching needs, as well as a 50-minute head-to-toe deep stretch that addresses all major muscle groups. In addition to one-on-one stretching services, two small format group stretching classes are also available, in which a Flexologist leads clients through a warm up and sequence of stretches to address major muscle groups.
