ST. PAUL, Minn. — Top Rail Fence, the on-time professionals in fence design, quality, installation and service, is opening its second location in Minnesota and will celebrate with a grand opening and pet adoption event from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 12 at Big Wood Brewery, featuring adoptable dogs from Midwest Animal Rescue & Services (MARS).

“Good fences make good pet owners,” said Top Rail Fence St. Paul owner Howard Immel. “This is a great way to introduce Minnesota’s newest Top Rail Fence location while also highlighting how wonderful pet adoption is.”

Immel will provide visitors with a free pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, beans and water, while supplies last. The event is open to the public.

“Top Rail Fence St. Paul wants to begin our relationship with the community by partnering with local organizations that serve the community,” he said. “Opening this Top Rail Fence location allows me to pursue my passion and make a living doing something I love. Temporary Wall Systems owners Brendan and Courtney Mahoney will host a booth at the event, which showcases planned military construction in the Northwest region. The event runs from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and features presentations from the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies, information booths and networking opportunities.

For the past 10 years, he has worked in capital sales for medical device and surgical robotics companies.

Courtney Mahoney received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and has worked in sales for a multi-billion dollar global management consulting firm for the past 11 years.

Local owners Kipp and Brooke Koeppel say their reusable containment system is perfect for a growing city like Austin that is also concerned with environmental impact

AUSTIN, Texas — Temporary Wall Systems (TWS), the first and leading full-service, temporary containment wall provider in the United States, will introduce its new Austin, Texas, location at the Austin Build Expo at the Palmer Events Center on May 22-23.

Temporary Wall Systems Austin owners Kipp and Brooke Koeppel will be on-hand at Booth 333 to give out information about the company and will offer a giveaway of a YETI 24 hard cooler.

“We’re excited about our new Temporary Wall Systems venture and look forward to bringing a cleaner, more efficient containment and abatement solution to the Austin construction industry,” Kipp Koeppel said. “Austin is a rapidly growing city, and there is a lot of construction and renovation as a result. Our system will allow businesses to safely expand and reinvent themselves while continuing to operate as usual and do it in a way that is better for the environment.”

The Koeppels moved to Austin in 2020 after spending several years in Charlotte, North Carolina. The couple met while selling advertising at an Alabama newspaper. Kipp Koeppel then spent the next 15 years in the financial services industry in a variety of positions, including 401(k) recordkeeping, sales and relationship management.

Brooke Koeppel continued her work in sales before eventually moving on to staffing and then financial advisor recruiting for several large financial institutions.

In addition to their corporate jobs, the couple also invested in real estate and rental properties over the past 14 years, doing a lot of the renovation work themselves. It is with this experience that they saw a need in the market for reliable contractors with a focus on customer service.

After moving to Austin, the couple introduced The Brothers that just do Gutters franchise to the area and have since earned recognition as a “Best Place to Work” by the Austin Business Journal in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

“We love Austin’s unique vibe, plentiful outdoor activities, delicious food options and live music scene,” Brooke Koeppel said. “Opening another franchise in this community just solidified our commitment to invest in Austin and all it has to offer.”

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Yard Patrol Pros Charlotte will host a grand opening and relaunch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the company’s new office at 20468 Chartwell Center Drive, Cornelius, North Carolina, on Monday, May 6 at 9 a.m.

Yard Patrol Pros owners AJ Bodick and Garrett Chisum are also using the new location as the headquarters of their Window Hero Lake Norman venture. Both Yard Patrol Pros and Window Hero are franchise brands under the umbrella of HomeFront Brands, a property service franchise platform company.

Window Hero opens its first Ohio location with an office in North Columbus

Local owners Gerrod and Katherine Bede say they want to keep Columbus beautiful by providing a professional home- and business-cleaning service

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Window Hero, a HomeFront Brands franchise specializing in a wide range of exterior cleaning services, will host a grand opening of its newest location in North Columbus in the Harbor Pointe community in Galena, Ohio, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 with a drawing for a free house soft wash.

Window Hero North Columbus owners Gerrod and Katherine Bede say they want to provide the community with quality jobs and a fun workplace by providing home and business owners with a service that restores their buildings back to their former glory.

“My wife and I have owned and operated a real estate development company and have worked rehabbing houses for years, and we view our new venture as an extension of our work in real estate,” he said. “The real estate market in Columbus is booming, and people selling their houses to newcomers will need this service to make their homes more attractive to buyers.”

Bede said he also wants to give back to the community by providing free and discounted cleaning services to qualifying organizations.

The Bedes haven’t always worked in the real estate market. Gerrod Bede graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he and his wife met, and received his law degree from The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law. He spent several years working as the general counsel and operating partner for several businesses owned by a family investment office before owning his own business. Katherine Bede also graduated from Vanderbilt University before receiving her masters degree from the University of Illinois.

Gerrod Bede was born in Dayton, Ohio, but moved to Columbus in 2008 when he entered law school. The Bedes have four children: Carson, 12, Callie, 7, Christian, 3, and Connor, 8 months.

“We are committed to contributing to Columbus’ growth and prosperity,” Katherine Bede said. “We are already deeply involved in several local sports and community initiatives. We want Window Hero North Columbus to be a pivotal part of beautifying and maintaining the buildings in the Columbus area.”

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Designery, an immersive, full-service kitchen, bath and closet design center featuring high-quality cabinets, will celebrate its newest location in Charleston, South Carolina, with a grand opening on April 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the design center’s new location at 1217 Remount Road.

The Designery Charleston is owned by Nate Van Valkenburg, who also owns a Window Hero and Yard Patrol Pros in the area. The Designery expands its reach into North Carolina with new location in North Raleigh

Local owners Dana and Anne-Louise Merrill will kick off their showroom’s grand opening on April 25

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Designery, an immersive, full-service kitchen, bath and closet design center featuring high-quality cabinets, countertops and flooring, will celebrate the grand opening of its newest location in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Thursday, April 25.

The Designery North Raleigh owners Dana and Anne-Louise Merrill say they look forward to providing Raleigh homeowners with the design tools they need to make their homes beautiful, comfortable and useful.

“I always look for a trusted partner when I need service for my home or my car,” Dana Merrill said. “I’ve been going to the same automobile repair shop for 16 years, and I call the same plumber I’ve used for years when I need a plumbing repair. We want to be that trusted partner that people in the Raleigh area use when they want to reimagine their space.”

Anne-Louise Merrill said that building relationships is as important to her as providing reliable service.

“In addition to being the go-to design experts for kitchen, bathroom and closet remodeling, we also want to get to know our clients so we can serve them better,” she said. “We want to build a family business that is trusted and known in our community.”

The Merrills location will truly be a family affair with the addition of their son, True Merrill, as the location’s project manager. The Merrills have been married for 30 years and have eight children and four grandchildren.

The couple is originally from New England but has called Raleigh home for the past 17 years.

Dana Merrill worked as the director of portfolio management, vendor manager and software development director for MetLife for nine years. He also worked as a project manager for Fidelity Investments and Veritude. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music, voice and theater from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, and attended a full-stack web development boot camp at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Anne-Louise Merrill home-schooled the couple’s children and has a degree in piano pedagogy from Plymouth State University.

The Merrills began offering their redesigning services to the Raleigh community late last summer but welcome the opening of their permanent showroom at 3030 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, North Carolina.

The couple were the recipients of the Downtown Raleigh Home Show’s new exhibitor Best in Show award in January, and they won HomeFront Brands’ CARES Award at the company’s franchisee convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, in November.

The Designery North Raleigh serves residents in Cary, Morrisville, New Light, Raleigh, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon. It is the third location in North Carolina, with additional showrooms in South Charlotte, Lake Norman and Concord, North Carolina.
