Top Rail Fence Front Range, owned by Tanner and Meagan Tom, will host a ribbon cutting at the home show with the Asian Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, March 23 at 3 p.m.

“We’ve always wanted to run our own business but wanted something that aligned with our interests,” said Meagan Tom. “Eventually Tanner was looking for a career change, and we felt that the support a franchising organization like HomeFront Brands and Top Rail Fence provided offered that change.”

The couple also wants to make a difference in their Denver area community by providing a service that allows homeowners to feel safe and protected while improving their yard’s aesthetics.

“I envision we will be a positive influence in the Denver area, not just at our Top Rail Fence location, but anywhere we go,” Tanner Tom said. “I want to provide the community with a great product and service while giving back to our community.”

Top Rail Fence South Denver owner Christopher Gragg will also use the conference to celebrate the grand opening of his location, and he hopes to create a legacy business.

“Top Rail Fence has provided me with the opportunity to own a business that aligns with both my personal values and business goals,” said Gragg, who has a background in managing internet sales for a major homebuilder. “In the time I’ve spent in the home building industry, I recognized the need for residential fences in South Denver and seized this opportunity.”

In addition to the grand openings of the Front Range and South Denver locations, Top Rail Fence Denver and Top Rail Fence Fort Collins owners Sean Raftery, Stephen West and Pete Montana will also be at the show to introduce their two locations that will open in mid-April.

Local owners Jerry and Ursula Finn want to build a family business that benefits the communities they serve

DALLAS — Top Rail Fence, the on-time professionals in fence design, quality, installation and service, will celebrate the opening of its new North Texas location with a ribbon cutting ceremony following the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce networking breakfast at 9:30 a.m. on March 26.

The bi-monthly breakfast starts at 8 a.m. at Keller Williams Dallas Metro North. Local owners Jerry and Ursula Finn will bring their 30 years of corporate executive experience to the venture.

“Ursula and I have lived and worked in this community since 1993, and we want to give back to the area in any way we can,” Jerry Finn said. “We’re excited about starting a family business that will create the generational wealth necessary for us to give back to the community financially.”

Ursula Finn said the couple’s specific skillset will help them build relationships that will make their Top Rail Fence location a success.

“Our passion for our community through our support of theater, culture, schools and sports teams in the past will help us make Top Rail Fence North Texas a trusted source of fencing,” she said. “We are passionate about quality and are dedicated to providing exceptional service. Our professional backgrounds have given us experience in hiring, training and developing the right people, and we plan to use that knowledge to build the right team at Top Rail Fence.”

The Finns have been married for 25 years and have two children. They are members of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas.

Owner Justin Green wants his Top Rail Fence West Volusia and Top Rail Fence Daytona Beach locations to provide the area with a sense of comfort and confidence

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Top Rail Fence, the on-time professionals in fence design, quality, installation and service, will announce the opening of two locations in West Volusia and Daytona Beach, Florida, with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the city of Debary at the Debary Golf & Country Club from 4-6 p.m. on Feb. 29.

Owner Justin Green said both new Central Florida locations are dedicated to offering high quality materials with best in practice installation, from highly trained professionals.

“I hope my business will have a positive influence on my community,” he said. “I want to be able to provide my neighbors with security and privacy while giving them a brand they can have confidence in.”

Green said when he and his then fiancée, now wife, decided to sell his home to combine households, their realtor suggested they add fencing to improve its resale value and appeal. His difficulty in finding a dependable contractor to install the fence made him realize how much the Central Florida area needed a professionally run fence company that had a customer-focused approach.

“I come from a family of entrepreneurs, so small business ownership has always been my dream,” he said. “I went through a long discovery process to find the right franchise. Green is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in marketing and finance. He has spent most of his professional career in sales and management, developing new territories or improving underperforming territories in corporate America. He plans to bring his consultative approach to ensure each customer is completely satisfied with the investment to their property.

“I’m excited to grow a business that is my own instead of someone else’s,” he said. “My overall vision is to build the best fence company in the area, one that puts our customers first. Owner Andy Deck hopes his fencing company’s reliable service will build a solid referral business and will work to better the community

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Top Rail Fence, the on-time professionals in fence design, quality, installation and service, will celebrate its move into Indiana with a grand opening event at the Adoption Agency of Indiana on Feb. 6 at 4 p.m.

The Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce will be on hand and Top Rail Fence North Indianapolis owner Andy Deck will donate $1,000 to the adoption agency. Deck and his wife are the parents of two adopted daughters.

“I know these agencies struggle for money to help birth mothers through the process and find parents who want to adopt,” he said. “It’s something close to our heart as a family. Our daughters are a blessing, and this is an option more people should look into.”

Deck says he also hopes his Top Rail Fence location will become a force for good in his community.

“I have lived in this area all my life, and I want to make sure we are a trustworthy fencing company that does great work and provides reliable service,” Deck said. “I am excited about the opportunity to start something new here and build my Top Rail Fence location into a business that is known for giving its clients an outstanding customer experience.”

Deck already serves his community as a firefighter with the Indianapolis Fire Department, where he has worked for more than 20 years. But Deck is no stranger to entrepreneurship, either. He co-owned an Alloy Wheel Repair franchise in Indianapolis from 2009-2016.

“Having previously owned my own company, I understand the commitment necessary to make a business successful,” he said. “It’s not something you can take lightly. It requires hard work and determination. I know the friendly people here in the Indianapolis area will welcome this new endeavor and applaud our reliability.”

Deck also worked in sales prior to joining the fire department, and he expects this experience to help him at his Top Rail Fence venture.

“When you work in sales, you end up working with a lot of different types of people,” he said. “This should help me as I build my Top Rail Fence location. I can’t wait to begin working with clients and subcontractors to become a fencing company people will appreciate and refer to their friends, business associates and neighbors.”

Deck is a graduate of Indiana University. He and his wife, Chanda, have two girls, ages 17 and 11.

Local owner Derrek Long and General Manager Gary Moore will rely on their business acumen and personal faith to bring quality fencing product to the area

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Top Rail Fence, the on-time professionals in fence design, quality, installation and service, is announcing the opening of its new Chattanooga location with a luncheon and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce at noon today.

Owner Derrek Long will also make a donation to Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes as part of the event. Long will host home builders, realtors, property managers, pool companies and several of the new location’s first customers.

“We want to build a responsible business that provides essential services, creates generational wealth and improves our community,” Long said. “We want to provide quality products, installation and customer care to the Chattanooga area. My faith teaches me to participate with our creator to restore all things in his name. I’ll use my faith to guide me in providing a valuable service.”

Long has a technical science degree and an MBA and has worked in logistics and planning management for several years.

The new owner will have assistance in running the new location from General Manager Gary Moore. Moore has a degree in business administration from East Carolina University and has spent most of his professional life as a pastor.

RICHMOND, Va. — Top Rail Fence Richmond owner Bob Stewart was presented with the prestigious CARES Award at the HomeFront Brand’s inaugural franchisee convention earlier this month for his dedication to the values that define the franchising company’s brand.

The CARES Award, named for the company’s core values of community, accountability, respect, excellence and service, is bestowed upon a HomeFront Brand’s franchisee that has captured the admiration of the company’s other franchisees. The award winner is determined by a vote of the franchisee community at the company’s Homecoming Convention held at its headquarters in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.

“Bob consistently surpasses expectations for his dedication to community engagement, respect for others and his devotion to superior service,” said HomeFront Brands Chairman and CEO Jeff Dudan. “Our Homecoming Convention was a testament to our incredible expansion since our inception in 2022. Bob Stewart’s outstanding character and commitment to our core values is part of the reason for HomeFront Brands’ success.”

Local owners Matthew and Alicia Heck will kickstart their fencing business by presenting the Tampa Bay Humane Society with a donation from the new venture

TAMPA, Fla. — Top Rail Fence, the on-time professionals in fence design, quality, installation and service, will host the grand opening of its Tampa location with a celebration at the Tampa Bay Humane Society at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8. Location owners Matthew and Alicia Heck will present the animal welfare group with a donation.

“We decided to partner with the Tampa Bay Humane Society because of the obvious connection between pets and fences,” Matthew Heck said. “We’re proud to build a business in our local community and want to be known for our exceptional customer service and reliability. We want to make our community better by building strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing fences and by partnering with valuable non-profits like the local humane society.”

Top Rail Fence Tampa has also joined the Tampa Bay Business Chamber, and many of that group’s members will be on hand at the event to help the Hecks celebrate their grand opening, complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Hecks were both born and raised in Indiana but moved to the Tampa area more than 10 years ago. Matthew Heck worked as a sales and marketing executive for a local television station and an advertising agency before moving into business ownership. Alicia Heck is an interior designer specializing in custom closets and accent walls.

The couple met at Ball State University in Indiana. Matthew Heck has a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications with a minor in marketing, while Alicia Heck has a bachelor’s degree in interior design with a minor in residential property management. The couple has three children.

Alicia Heck said she believes her background in design and property management will help the couple build their business.

“My ability to take inspiration and turn it into a working design will help homeowners find the fencing of their dreams,” she said. “But we also want to offer customers these fences at a fair and reasonable price. We want to be known as a fencing company that cares about our clients by being innovative and dependable.”

Local owners Bob and Stacey Stewart plan to use their expertise in building trades and customer service to create a positive customer experience

“I have a passion for the building and fencing industries,” Bob Stewart said. “Forbes recently included Richmond, Virginia, as one of the best cities for start-ups and entrepreneurs, and it’s a city that continues to show growth. With this headwind, we have the potential to build our Top Rail Fence location into a formidable business.”

Stewart worked as an investment banker for 18 years before entering the building trades, where he has remained for the past 13 years. Stacey Stewart, however, honed her customer service skills in retail before jumping into the fencing industry. She has been the manager of a Kohl’s Department Store in Richmond for 20 years and trained in business administration and management at George Mason University.

“We want to provide a great service and product to our community,” Stacey Stewart said. “We want to build a brand that the community will come to know and trust. You do that by creating a great and lasting customer experience. My customer service background is crucial in developing that experience.”

Bob Stewart is originally from Rochester, New York, and Stacey Stewart traveled extensively with her military family during her childhood. The pair moved to Richmond 35 years ago after they married. The couple has two daughters, Alexandra and Lauren.

Local owners Mark and Lisa Johns want their business to be a positive force in the community by creating safer neighborhoods and providing jobs

CHICAGO — Top Rail Fence, the on-time professionals in fence design, quality, installation and service, will celebrate the grand opening of its Naperville, Illinois, location with a booth at the Batfest event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 in downtown Batavia, Illinois.

Top Rail Fence Naperville owners Mark and Lisa Johns said the team will have games and prizes for the kids who visit their booth and will showcase the company’s fencing samples for the adults.

The couple said they want their Top Rail Fence location to be seen as a positive force in the Naperville area.

“I’ve always nurtured a passion for craftsmanship, design, and creating tangible, lasting construction projects,” Mark Johns said. “This venture offers a direct avenue for me to channel that passion into a thriving business that caters to the community’s fencing needs. Johns, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, worked as the vice president of construction for The Sports Authority and Fresh Thyme Farmers Market for more than 20 years, where he specialized in commercial retail construction.

Lisa Johns said the couple’s experience in hiring a professional and dependable fence contractor played into their decision to provide the Naperville area with a reliable fencing company.

Local owner Ryan Van Epps said he saw a need for a reliable and transparent fencing company in the Kennesaw area

KENNESAW, Ga. — Top Rail Fence, the on-time professionals in fence design, quality, installation and service, announced today that it is expanding its services in the Peach State with the opening of Top Rail Fence North Georgia. The location is owned by Ryan Van Epps.

“It’s my goal to provide the homeowners of North Georgia with beautiful fencing that improves their property values and provides them with security and peace of mind,” Van Epps said. “I worked construction during the summers when I was growing up in Roswell, Georgia. It was great to be able to step back and actually see the physical product of my hard work. This sense of accomplishment inspired me to open my own fencing company.”

Top Rail Fence North Georgia’s territory is northwest of Atlanta and is growing rapidly with families who are leaving city life to settle in more suburban communities.
