Empower Brands Expands Leadership Team to Fuel Cross-Brand Growth, Innovation and Franchisee Success

2025-05-04T19:53:55-04:00May 4th, 2025|Tags: , , |

RICHMOND, Va. — Empower Brands, a multi-brand franchisor of premium commercial and residential services, is accelerating into its next phase of growth with a strategic expansion of its leadership team. The additions spanning brand presidents, franchise operations and development, and national accounts, reflect Empower’s continued investment in its people, its franchisees, and its long-term vision to scale with purpose.

At the center of this momentum is a focus on deepening brand-level support while building shared infrastructure across the platform. As Empower’s brands continue to break into new markets, deliver record sales, and attract high-performing franchisees, the organization is bringing in seasoned leaders to help franchise owners thrive.

Justin Mayer joined the company last week as Brand President of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives (OLP), bringing a customer-first mindset and a track record of operational excellence to one of Empower’s legacy brands. His appointment reinforces OLP’s position as a category leader and sets the stage for new growth and innovation. Rich Young, long-time Brand President for OLP, will remain with the organization to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

In February, Heather Todd was promoted to Brand President of Conserva Irrigation after serving as Director of Franchise Operations. Todd, who has played a central role in Conserva’s rise, brings a franchisee-first approach and a deep understanding of what it takes to scale a service brand while staying rooted in operational integrity.

Conserva’s founder and long-time Brand PresidentRuss Jundt, is transitioning into a new role at Empower Brands. Jundt will lead three strategic areas across the platform: National Accounts (for Conserva and OLP), Strategic Partnerships and Procurement, and Conversion Franchising for Conserva. His new role reflects Empower’s evolution into a more integrated, future-ready organization.

To continue Conserva’s operational strength, Stacy Parkelj joined Empower last month as Director of Franchise Operations. She succeeds Todd in the role and will support the brand’s franchisees with hands-on coaching, systems leadership, and performance growth.

On the enterprise side, Brandon Yarnell has been named National Accounts Sales Manager for Conserva and OLP. He’ll work alongside Jundt to develop partnerships and build scalable solutions for clients with multi-location or commercial needs.

The leadership expansion also extends to Empower’s franchise development team. Katie Lepper has joined as Director of Franchise Development for Bumble Roofing, while Steve Griffith is the new Director of Franchise Development for Koala Insulation. Each will guide their brand’s growth strategy and recruit the next wave of franchisees.

“These aren’t just new roles, they’re key puzzle pieces in our long-term vision,” said Scott Zide, CEO of Empower Brands. “We’re scaling thoughtfully, building shared infrastructure where it makes sense, and empowering each brand to thrive with dedicated leadership. Every addition to our team is about reinforcing support for our franchisees and making sure we’re built for what’s next.”

Empower’s commitment to culture, brand excellence, and franchisee success continues to drive its reputation as a trusted platform for home service entrepreneurs and a magnet for high-caliber talent across the industry.

Independent research data shows franchisees are highly satisfied with their investment in Archadeck Outdoor Living, Conserva Irrigation, FRSTeam and Outdoor Lighting Perspectives

RICHMOND, Va. — Empower Brands, a world-class franchising portfolio consisting of industry-leading residential and commercial service providers, announces that its brands Archadeck Outdoor Living, Conserva Irrigation, FRSTeam and Outdoor Lighting Perspectives are four of only 50 franchises selected as Franchise Business Review’s 2025 Top Low-Cost Franchises.

“We are very encouraged by the feedback we received from the franchise owners of these four brands,” Empower Brands CEO Scott Zide said. “Our franchisees not only believe we have a strong team culture, but they also stated that they enjoy being part of their individual brand and are likely to recommend their franchise brand to others. Enabling entrepreneurs with more modest means the opportunity to buy into a franchise system is a goal Empower Brands is proud to have accomplished.”

Franchise Business Review (FBR), a research firm that conducts independent surveys of franchisee satisfaction, provides the only ratings of franchises based solely on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance. Franchise Business Review publishes its rankings of top franchises semi-annually in its Guide to Today’s Top Franchises, as well as industry reports throughout the year that highlight research on the top franchises in specific sectors.

More than 12,000 franchisees representing 125 low-cost brands participated in FBR’s franchisee satisfaction survey over 18 months. The brands that were named to the list of the best low-cost franchises to buy had to have high franchisee satisfaction and an investment of under $100,000 at the time their franchisees participated in FBR’s satisfaction survey.

The four Empower Brands franchisees were each surveyed on 33 benchmark questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding critical areas of their franchise systems, including training and support, operations, franchisor/franchisee relations, culture and financial opportunity.

“It’s a common misconception that buying a franchise is too expensive for the average person seeking to start a business. What many people don’t know is that there are very solid franchise opportunities that provide the satisfaction and perks of business ownership but don’t require a huge financial investment,” Franchise Business Review CEO Eric Stites said. “Approximately one-third of the award-winning brands on our list of the Top Low-Cost Franchises have initial investments starting under $75K. With financing, many can be started for as little as $20K, with a few options starting under $15K. More importantly, these 50 franchises have average owner satisfaction 20% higher than our industry benchmark, making them all excellent options for anyone considering franchise ownership.”

Independent Survey Shows Female Franchise Owners Are Highly Satisfied with Conserva Irrigation and JAN-PRO’s Performance

RICHMOND, Va. — Empower Brands, a world-class franchising portfolio consisting of industry-leading residential and commercial service providers, announced today that two of its brands, Conserva Irrigation and JAN-PRO Systems International, have earned spots on Franchise Business Review’s (FBR) 2025 Top Franchises for Women. Only 100 brands were chosen for the award.

“What a great way to celebrate Women’s History Month,” said Empower Brands CEO Scott Zide. “We are so proud of Conserva Irrigation and JAN-PRO’s commitment to inclusion and ability to attract outstanding females into the franchising world. And these awards are made even more important because it’s the franchisees’ satisfaction that determines whether a franchisor makes this list.”

Empower Brands, founded in 2022, is an award-winning franchise platform consisting of industry-leading commercial and residential service providers across North America. Its brands include Archadeck Outdoor Living, Bumble Roofing, Canopy Lawn Care, Conserva Irrigation, FRSTeam, Jan Pro Systems International, Koala Insulation, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives, Superior Fence & Rail, and Wallaby Windows.

Conserva Irrigation is headed by Brand President Heather Todd, and JAN-PRO is led by Brand President Gary Bauer.

Franchise Business Review, a research firm that conducts independent surveys of franchisee satisfaction, provides the only ratings of franchises based solely on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance. Franchise Business Review publishes its rankings of top franchises semi-annually in its Guide to Today’s Top Franchises, as well as industry reports throughout the year that highlight research on the top franchises in specific sectors.

Conserva Irrigation and JAN-PRO were among 350 franchise brands, representing nearly 9,000 female franchise owners, that participated in Franchise Business Review’s research on the Top Franchises for Women. Both Empower Brands franchises were surveyed on 33 benchmark questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding critical areas of their franchise systems, including leadership, training & support, financial opportunity, and work/life balance.

“Franchising is a fantastic option for women seeking business ownership on a full- or part-time basis,” FBR President and COO Michelle Rowan said. “With so many franchise opportunities to choose from, it’s critical to do in-depth research to understand how satisfied current female franchise owners are with the training and support, work/life balance, financial opportunity, culture, and leadership of any brand they’re considering before making an investment. When you look at the brands on this year’s list of the Top Franchises for Women, 88% of women said they enjoy being part of their franchise organizations, and three of four said they would recommend their franchise to others—powerful feedback for women considering the transition to business ownership.”

CertaPro Painters® Launches Sixth Paint it Pink Campaign: Over Half a Million Raised for Breast Cancer Research

2024-10-07T18:10:32-04:00October 7th, 2024|Tags: , , |

AUDUBON, Pa. — CertaPro Painters®, North America’s Most Referred Painting Company®, is launching its Paint it Pink campaign for the sixth consecutive year in partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) and Breast Cancer Canada to help raise money in support of breast cancer research. Since 2019, CertaPro’s Paint it Pink has raised $555,000, which equates to approximately 11,000 hours of BCRF research.

CertaPro Painters franchisees that participate in Paint it Pink will donate a percentage of every painting project completed between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30. Local businesses and CertaPro corporate team members also participate in fundraising events. CertaPro aims to increase its donations every year, with a goal of achieving $160,000 during the months of October and November 2024. All donations will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in the U.S. and Breast Cancer Canada. If CertaPro reaches its 2024 funding goal, its Paint it Pink campaign will support roughly 3,200 hours of research for BCRF or the equivalent of 64 patients’ enrollment in a BCRF-supported clinical trial.

“The idea for Paint it Pink originated from a CertaPro franchisee who lost his wife to breast cancer and asked how our company could spread awareness and support the cause,” said Mike Stone, president & CEO of CertaPro Painters. “As a company, we strongly believe in helping those in need, supporting our employees and franchisees, and serving the local communities where we live. Our Paint it Pink initiative is incredibly important to us as it gives us the opportunity to live our core values and allows us to help pay it forward by supporting BCRF’s mission of achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer.”

CertaPro’s Paint it Pink campaign will consist of several initiatives this year, including:

  • A Paint it Pink social media campaign will go coast to coast this year and have fun “painting” recognizable North American landmarks pink, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Times Square, the CN Tower and more! Follow us @certapro!
  • Participating franchisees will have a dedicated Paint it Pink page on their local CertaPro website with links to important resources and how to get involved.
  • Many CertaPro franchisees connect with neighboring businesses to raise awareness by painting them pink during the campaign or partner to host local fundraising events such as a 5K run or picnic.
  • CertaPro’s corporate team gets involved by participating in a step challenge whereby all donations go to Paint it Pink. Team members donate to participate in the step challenge, and if the goal is met, CertaPro will contribute up to $4,500 in addition to stepping efforts.

Anyone can get involved in Paint it Pink by making a donation to support breast cancer research. Whether you’re a business, community member, or individual looking to make a difference, your contribution can help bring us one step closer to a cure.

Leading franchisor surpasses $1.2 billion in sales, expands territories and acquires key brands all within a year of its rebranding

RICHMOND, Va. — Empower Brands, multi-brand franchisor of premium commercial and residential services, celebrates remarkable milestones just one year after its rebranding. The umbrella company has navigated an extraordinary path since November 2022, achieving unprecedented growth through strategic acquisitions and expansion, solidifying itself as a top player in the franchising industry.

When the rebranding was announced last year, Empower Brands set an aggressive goal to increase its portfolio to 10 brands by the close of 2023. Empower currently boasts 11 brands on its roster, having acquired four industry-disrupting organizations – Wallaby Windows, Koala InsulationCanopy Lawn Care and Bumble Roofing.

Empower not only grew its brand roster, but expanded its already established brands adding over 200 new franchise territories, bringing its portfolio to over 800 territories across 42 states and eight countries. The brand also set a company record by surpassing $1.2 billion in systemwide sales.

The exceptional growth has garnered recognition for Empower Brands in prominent industry listings, including Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500, Inc. 5000 and Franchise Times’ Dealmakers of the Year.

“This year stands as proof of the dedication and hard work of our team, strategic partners and franchisees,” said Scott Zide, CEO of Empower Brands. “Their commitment has been instrumental in our success, driving our growth and achievements. We’re poised to build upon this foundation of collaboration to further innovate and excel what we’ve established.”

The brand’s commitment to a franchisee-first approach is evident in the formation of a seasoned senior leadership team and an increase in corporate staff by over 40 individuals. Additionally, the establishment of an incubation team signifies Empower Brands’ forward-looking strategy to nurture and cultivate emerging brands within its ecosystem.

Ongoing incubation efforts for Canopy Lawn Care and Bumble Roofing showcase the company’s dedication to cultivating emerging brands into successful ventures. Empower Brands is poised to unveil its first franchise agreements with these acquired brands before the end of the year, signaling a strategic move towards amplifying its market presence and offerings.

Empower Brands remains committed to its vision of continual evolution and innovation. 2023 was a year of rapid growth, expansion, investment, and unbelievable change. As the brand looks ahead to 2024, its theme will be to adapt, evolve and innovate. Now is the opportune time to build upon and improve what it has already established.
