The contest will showcase humorous situations pets have gotten themselves into and reassure pet owners that Mr. Handyman is here to help repair the comedic chaos.

To enter the “My Pet Peeves” photo contest, visit Mr. Handyman’s official entry page on Facebook and submit a photo of your pet’s naughty behavior and house damages that you couldn’t help but laugh at. Ideas include – but are not limited to – a pet’s yard damage, annihilated shoes, in-home destruction, getting into the snack drawer, or just their cute face by May 31, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. CT. Dogs, cats, horses, hamsters, reptiles, bunnies, turtles and more are welcome. Mr. Handyman will reward five random winners with a $250 PetSmart e-gift card to show that even though our pets can drive us crazy at times, we’ll always love them no matter what!

“Pets are part of our families, we care for them the same way we care for each other, and often rely on them for emotional support. This doesn’t stop them from creating problems in our homes from time to time,” said Jeff Palla, President of Mr. Handyman. “The great part of this is that our professional Mr. Handyman technicians know how to repair damages caused by pets, while still understanding the value they add to families. Our services ease stress between having a pet and a home and the maintenance that comes with both.”

Additionally, Mr. Handyman offers the following tips to assist pet owners with common pet-caused damages:

Repair Chewed Drywall: To fix drywall that may have been gnawed at by a puppy or anxious dog, scrape loose debris from holes or dents and cover with fast-drying spackle. Let dry for at least 24 hours and conceal repairs with a bit of touch-up paint. While small bite holes are easy to camouflage, years of covering damage can eventually lead to uneven drywall.

Protect the Floors: Pets can damage hardwood floors simply by walking on it. Protect hardwood by maintaining claw length and keeping area rugs around the house for pets to lie on. Fix minor scratches with floor cleaner and protective finish. Clean the scratch with a damp cloth, scrub the cleaner over the scratch, and repeat with a clean cloth to rinse away hardwood cleaner.

Safeguard Wood: Wood is often a target for pets who chew or scratch. The easiest protection plan is to add plastic sheeting or PVC tubing around table and chair legs to prevent claw and bite marks. Save doors by adding clear, plastic sheeting.

Experienced Business Professional Brings Expertise to Tigard Market.

Right at Home Caregiver Who Saved Client From Texas Snowstorm Recognized as National Caregiver of the Year

Keshia Prejean received the honor as one out of 25,000 caregivers across the Right at Home network, at the company’s national conference.

OMAHA, Neb. — On April 29, 600 cheering representatives of leading in-home care company Right at Home honored Keshia Prejean as 2022 National Caregiver of the Year at the company’s national conference in Glendale, Arizona. Prejean was selected from more than 25,000 caregivers across the Right at Home network for her exemplary commitment to making a difference in the lives of her clients and team members.

Prejean has been with Right at Home for two years, working as a caregiver in the Texas Hill Country for owners Sydney Greenwalt and Terry Darilek. Prejean’s compassion, selflessness and willingness to go above and beyond have made her a valued member of Right at Home and a beloved caregiver for seniors in her community.

Last year, central Texas experienced unprecedented snowfall, including widespread power outages, burst water lines and road closures. But did that stop Prejean from going to work and making a difference? “It didn’t slow her down one bit,” said Greenwalt. “She knew one of our clients was bed bound with no resources and no family. So unbeknownst to us, Keshia flagged down a snowplow driver and had him take her to our client’s home. She weather-proofed the home, tracked down water and walked to the store in the snow to buy food.”

Prejean stayed almost a week with her client, sacrificing the needs of her own family to help someone in need. “EMS and Fire Rescue were unable to access roads during the first few days of the storm,” said Greenwalt. “I’m convinced our client would not have survived without Keshia’s help.”

According to Keysha Friar, Director of Employee Relations at Right at Home Hill Country, Prejean’s generosity isn’t reserved only for her clients. “Keshia doesn’t just help our clients, she is so loving toward her co-workers too,” said Friar. “We recently received a phone call from one of our caregivers who wanted to let us know how wonderful Keshia is. Apparently Keshia found out another caregiver was having transportation issues so she booked and paid for a $75 Uber to take this caregiver to our client’s home. Of course we reimbursed Keshia for this, but she never mentioned it to us and didn’t request reimbursement. That says a lot about who Keshia is.”

National Caregiver of the Year is the highest honor awarded by the Right at Home network. The award is presented annually during the organization’s annual conference.

Stacy Eley Named Brand President of Suite Management Franchising

CARROLLTON, Texas — Propelled Brands, the parent company of Suite Management Franchising (SMF), the franchisor of both MY SALON Suite and Salon Plaza, a salon suite franchise that focuses on providing hairstylists and beauty professionals a personal space to build their independent businesses and be their own boss, has named Stacy Eley brand president.

TITLE Boxing Club Re-Enters the Ring to Fight Mental Health Stigmas

Leading Boxing Fitness Company Announces Annual “Knockout Stigma” Events at Clubs Nationwide on Saturday, May 21.

SANTA MONICA, Calif.TITLE Boxing Club, the nation’s leading boxing fitness company, is continuing their fight against mental health stigmas during May’s Mental Health Awareness Month with a “Knockout Stigma” initiative. On Saturday, May 21, 2022, clubs nationwide will host Knockout Stigma classes in-person and digitally on TITLE Boxing Club On Demand.

For every Knockout Stigma class participant who joins in-club or takes a class on their digital platform, as well as at its sister brand BoxUnion’s three studios in Los Angeles, TITLE Boxing Club will donate funds to Bring Change to Mind. Founded by actress and activist Glenn Close, the non-profit is dedicated to raising awareness, understanding, and empathy through campaigns and youth programs that encourage conversations about mental health.

Additionally, TITLE Boxing Club will lead other efforts throughout the month to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and create open dialogue around mental illness. Classes will be led by trainers, many of whom have volunteered to share their personal struggles with a variety of mental illnesses including anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and more. The Knockout Stigma classes on May 21 are open to all members as well as non-members who can purchase a single class.

TITLE Boxing Club has a history of supporting mental health and creating awareness of the mental and emotional benefits boxing fitness offers – including stress relief, increased focus and supporting brain health.
