TITLE Boxing Club Embarks on New Era, Reveals Company’s Modernized Brand Refresh and New Technology To Drive Business

Leading Authentic Boxing Fitness Brand Announces Fresh Look, Programming, Club Design, and More.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — TITLE Boxing Club, the world’s leading boxing fitness brand that offers a full-body, authentic heavy bag workout, reveals their newest brand refresh to commemorate a new era. The international franchise has launched a refreshed mission and messaging, enhanced programming, additional technology, a new look with a modernized color scheme, and club design which aim to drive growth, attract new customers, and enhance the member experience.

“The leadership team and entire system have been riding the innovation wave since the acquisition – but really, we’re just getting started,” said Todd Wadler, CEO of TITLE Boxing Club and Co-Founder of BoxUnion. “We’ve hit one milestone after another – from monumental agreements, crucial hiring of industry leaders, and bringing the benefits of boxing to a new audience – all while ensuring the brand’s legacy remains intact.”

With the purpose of creating a more consistent experience across the system, TITLE Boxing Club has further elevated its unique programming. The franchise’s proprietary 52-week boxing journey incorporates skill progression and interval training for a true full body workout.

“Our 52-week boxing journey is a growth and development plan for every single boxer that walks through our doors, no matter their skill level,” said Kyle Shneider, VP of Product at TITLE Boxing Club. “Our rotation of evolving ‘Weekly Focus’ and the supporting ‘Combo of the Day’ is how we build better boxers. This leads them to getting a better workout, burning more calories, relieving more stress, reaching their goals faster, having more fun, and staying with us for years.”

The TITLE website has been completely revamped to reflect the brand refresh. The site’s new layout and messaging deliver an enhanced user experience to not only learn more about what TITLE Boxing Club offers but also allow users to easily find information about and interact with their local club. New features have been added to a club’s local page to increase web leads and sell memberships for further support and to drive business.

Another vital component of this refresh, TITLE has launched a new app to enhance the club experience for its boxers which includes digital class content. Ultimately serving as a retention tool, the app allows boxers to celebrate class milestones, learn boxing skills outside of class, and gamify the class experience.

“TITLE has an amazing history – so our goal with this brand refresh was not to change what was already working, but to identify the areas that needed to evolve with key focuses on aesthetics, product, and technology,” said Chris MacDonald, VP of Marketing at TITLE Boxing Club. “We’re confident this evolved era will further propel us into aggressive growth – from franchise development to our member base.”

History in the Making: TITLE Boxing Club Announces International Deal Across Nine Countries

2022-11-18T10:29:35-05:00November 18th, 2022|Tags: , , , , , |

Leading Authentic Heavy Bag Boxing Fitness Brand Goes Global with Master Franchise Deal.

SANTA MONICA, Calif.TITLE Boxing Club, the world’s leading boxing fitness brand that offers a full-body, authentic heavy bag workout, has signed the brand’s first international deal that will bring its presence to nine countries. As the largest deal in TITLE’s history, the agreement puts the brand on the fast track to its development goal of having 300 clubs open by 2025.

Making history is master franchise representative Hurst Kopp, a military veteran whose passion for boxing was founded during his time managing professional boxers and mixed martial artists. After graduating from Washington State University and later completing post graduate studies, Kopp spent time working in big tech before deciding he wanted to pursue an opportunity that combined his experience with his passion. This led him to a career within the boxing industry – and specifically to southeast Asia where a lot of boxing talent resided.

“Having worked in international business development for the last decade, I really understand how these countries perceive fitness,” said Kopp. “The relationships I’ve built during this time played a role in bringing this deal to life. I have also surveyed the landscape, and completed extensive research on these economies coupled with boots-on-the-ground-efforts to ensure TITLE Boxing Club was the right brand.”

The nine countries being added to TITLE Boxing Club’s roster are: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand. Asia has seen significant revenue growth in the health and fitness market in recent years, with a nearly 25% increase from 2021 to 2022. As the industry continues to grow throughout Asia and beyond, TITLE is making its international mark at the right time.

“Currently, there are some concepts that allow you to punch some bags as a side workout – but it’s far from the true authentic boxing workout that is TITLE,” adds Kopp. “These countries are a few years behind the U.S. in terms of innovation, so the boom of studio concepts is just beginning.”

TITLE Boxing Club expects four existing clubs in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore to be operating under its name by end of year. These clubs will be completely re-branded to TITLE in Q1 2023, with additional clubs being transitioned throughout the remainder of the year.

“This international deal allows us to bring authentic boxing fitness to the masses,” said Todd Wadler, CEO of TITLE Boxing Club and Co-Founder of BoxUnion. “We have made a lot of improvements to our system throughout the last 22 months, and this momentous agreement is just one of the results to come out of our work. This is a pivotal moment for the brand that will project us into a new era.”

As the leading authentic heavy bag boxing club, TITLE Boxing Club offers a workout designed to build your fitness, control your breathing, and clear your mind. With more than 130 clubs nationwide and a well-regarded digital subscription service, TITLE Boxing Club On Demand, members can work out anytime, anywhere.

TITLE Boxing Club Re-Enters the Ring to Fight Mental Health Stigmas

2022-04-27T09:35:55-04:00April 27th, 2022|Tags: , , , , , |

Leading Boxing Fitness Company Announces Annual “Knockout Stigma” Events at Clubs Nationwide on Saturday, May 21.

SANTA MONICA, Calif.TITLE Boxing Club, the nation’s leading boxing fitness company, is continuing their fight against mental health stigmas during May’s Mental Health Awareness Month with a “Knockout Stigma” initiative. On Saturday, May 21, 2022, clubs nationwide will host Knockout Stigma classes in-person and digitally on TITLE Boxing Club On Demand.

For every Knockout Stigma class participant who joins in-club or takes a class on their digital platform, as well as at its sister brand BoxUnion’s three studios in Los Angeles, TITLE Boxing Club will donate funds to Bring Change to Mind. Founded by actress and activist Glenn Close, the non-profit is dedicated to raising awareness, understanding, and empathy through campaigns and youth programs that encourage conversations about mental health.

Additionally, TITLE Boxing Club will lead other efforts throughout the month to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and create open dialogue around mental illness. Classes will be led by trainers, many of whom have volunteered to share their personal struggles with a variety of mental illnesses including anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and more. The Knockout Stigma classes on May 21 are open to all members as well as non-members who can purchase a single class.

TITLE Boxing Club has a history of supporting mental health and creating awareness of the mental and emotional benefits boxing fitness offers – including stress relief, increased focus and supporting brain health.

“One unique aspect of our clubs is we encourage members to bring their baggage to class and take it out on the bag – it’s transformative,” shared Felicia Alexander, Chief Revenue Officer of TITLE Boxing Club and co-founder of BoxUnion Holdings. “Members and franchise partners alike consistently share the positive effects working out in our clubs has had on their mental health and lives overall.”

Alexander knows first-hand the impact mental illness can have, as she experienced it for years as a young adult. In 2019, she took action and publicly shared her battle with depression on social media.

“With each month that passes, I hear from more and more parents about how their children are struggling with anxiety and depression,” added Alexander. “One of the reasons we love partnering with Bring Change to Mind is because we get to help build awareness and create dialogue among students. Over the years, we have built a community within our clubs where all members are welcomed and accepted just as they are.”

TITLE Boxing Club Gloves Up for Growth after Year of Preparation, Innovation

Boutique Boxing Franchise Ready to Re-Launch Expansion with `Operations-First’ Mindset.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — One year after being acquired by BoxUnion to form the nation’s premier omnichannel fitness boxing brand, TITLE Boxing Club is ready to get back in the franchise expansion ring. Following months of purposeful program enhancements, the franchise of boutique fitness clubs specializing in boxing and kickboxing classes announced plans to open 300+ domestic clubs by 2025.

Throughout 2021, the brand’s new ownership invested heavily in infrastructure and the refinement of operations to support strong unit-economics for franchisees. The leadership team rolled out a series of new initiatives to improve both franchise profitability and member experience, focusing on four vital pillars: effective use of technology, innovation and creativity, marketing, and training and support. Members of the leadership team personally visited 92% of clubs nationwide to gather feedback from franchise partners and their trainers, managers and club members, to ensure ground-up involvement in the setting of program priorities.

“We are operators at heart,” said Todd Wadler, CEO of TITLE Boxing Club and Co-Founder of BoxUnion. “Having operated our own fitness boxing businesses, we went into this acquisition wanting to take an operations-first approach that focuses on creating a great system that breeds great results. We started with education and building relationships with franchise partners. Talk is cheap. The only way to build trust is to establish smart plans and then deliver results, which we have done.”

Below is a highlight of what was delivered during the first post-acquisition year:

Technology:

  • A rollout of new platforms to provide data and analytics
  • More efficient and simplified technological solutions, allowing franchise partners to streamline their efforts and increase profitability of their clubs
  • A revamped TITLE On Demand digital platform, giving the brand the ability to meet members wherever they are and allowing franchise partners to increase revenue through the sale of bundled memberships
  • New monthly playbooks providing franchise partners with tools, resources and guidance, to promote member and employee retention
  • A significantly enhanced email marketing platform, along with monthly usage guidance and ongoing support

Product, Training and Support

  • An improved class structure accompanied by regularly updated training materials that motivate instructors to add to their instructional skills while providing an effective system for rolling out new workout enhancements
  • Multiple new hires, including District Field Operators (DFO’s) and a VP of Field Marketing, all with extensive industry experience, to increase the level of support and training provided to franchise partners
  • A new TITLE University to further the brand’s commitment to the provision of excellent online learning and development resources

“It’s been incredibly gratifying to hear from franchise partners who have adopted these newly rolled out programs who are sharing the success it has brought their clubs,” said Felicia Alexander, Chief Revenue Officer of TITLE Boxing Club and Co-Founder of BoxUnion. “With all systems in place, the focus for 2022 is solely on execution and growth. We will continue to make hires and investments so the franchise grows – the right way.”

Wadler emphasized the importance of smart, well-planned growth. “We don’t want to grow just for the sake of growing,” he said. “We want to grow our foundation, which starts with adding the right franchise partners who are fully aligned with our mission and vision. Then we provide these franchise partners with everything they need to succeed.”

As TITLE Boxing Club looks to expand its national footprint, the company will be exhibiting at the 2022 Multi-Unit Franchising Conference in Las Vegas March 29April 1.

As the nation’s leading fitness boxing company, TITLE Boxing Club offers boxing and kickboxing classes in more than 140 clubs nationwide. The brand also allows consumers to workout anytime, anywhere through their well-regarded digital subscription service TITLE Boxing Club On Demand. In January 2022, Verywell Fit named TITLE Boxing Club On Demand as the “Best Overall” online kickboxing class.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — BoxUnion Holdings, the parent company of fitness boxing brands TITLE Boxing Club and BoxUnion has hired 9 new world-class team members over the past few months to provide additional training, operations and marketing support for franchisees across 147 clubs nationwide.

BoxUnion – an emerging California-based fitness boxing brand with 3 studio locations in Southern California and the worldwide BoxUnion Digital subscription service – acquired 144-unit TITLE Boxing Club and the TITLE Boxing Club On Demand digital platform in January 2021. The acquisition created the first, true omni-channel fitness boxing offering for millions of consumers anytime, anywhere.

To ensure franchisees receive top-notch support following the transition, one of the first moves the BoxUnion executive leadership team made was to invest in industry-leading talent. The hiring spree kicked off earlier this year with the recruitment of Justin Ghadery as Chief Operating Officer and Josh Cole as Chief Marketing and Digital Officer. • Christine DiBugnara, Senior Director, Product Operations & Talent will focus on helping the TITLE Boxing Club franchisee network further strengthen its best-in-class programming. She brings over 20 years of experience as a fitness business owner and field leader in corporate and franchise fitness businesses. She previously led the charge for product and programming for fitness and boxing brands such as Mayweather Boxing, UFC GYM, and 24-Hour Fitness.
  • Gavin McKay, General Manager, Digital will lead the growth of TITLE Boxing Club On Demand, including the development of omnichannel growth strategies that harness the reach of digital to generate more leads for physical-club membership. Prior to his new role, McKay founded Unite Fitness, growing it into the top boutique omnichannel fitness brand in Philadelphia, combining in-person studios, race events and live & on-demand digital platform.

“We are committed to future growth and supporting franchisees to set them up for success,” said Todd Wadler, CEO of BoxUnion Holdings. “To make that happen, will continue to surround ourselves with smart, knowledgeable and dedicated team members who have experience in all areas of the business, including programming, training and development, operations, marketing and more.”

Existing franchisees are excited about the support team additions, including Donald McConnell, who has owned a TITLE Boxing Club franchise since 2018.

“As the TITLE Boxing Club brand expands, it’s great to see we are getting more corporate team members to help support us and assist in making the brand the best it can be,” McConnell said. “As consumer expectations evolve, it’s critical that we also continue to evolve. It’s good to know that our franchisor is hiring the right people on their management team to put franchisees in a position of success.”

BoxUnion and TITLE Boxing Club Announce New Chief Operating Officer

2021-02-23T10:09:10-05:00February 23rd, 2021|Tags: , , , , , |

Franchise and Fitness Industry Expert Joins the World’s Largest Fitness Boxing Brand.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — BoxUnion Holdings, the parent company to TITLE Boxing Club and BoxUnion has announced Justin Ghadery as its Chief Operating Officer. Ghadery joins at an exciting time for the boxing brands, as BoxUnion Holdings recently acquired the 163-unit franchisor TITLE Boxing Club as well as its digital platform, TITLE Boxing Club On Demand. In his role, Ghadery will continue to ignite the company’s commitment to innovation, while streamlining systems and processes to position the business for long-term growth.

People, and strong relationships, have always been at the center of Ghadery’s leadership. In his first year as Chief Operating Officer, Ghadery’s primary initiatives will focus on driving consistency across the franchisee system while providing high levels of support as he rolls out a franchisee-centric service model. Ghadery’s passion and focus is centered around improving the team member experience, the member experience and unit economics. He is currently in the depths of a 100-day plan to meet with a substantial majority of franchisees, take classes in Clubs across the country, and connect with TITLE Boxing Club members.

“We are honored that Justin is joining our growing team,” said BoxUnion Holdings’ CEO Todd Wadler. “At every step he’s made in his professional career, he has quickly excelled and risen up the ranks of leadership. Justin exemplifies our core values and brings a track record of operational excellence to lead our team. At a time when it has never been more important to empower small business owners, these traits are also complemented with a partnership mentality. His passion for people, teamwork, technology and combat sports make him uniquely qualified to drive our business to new heights and position our franchisees for success in a post-COVID world.”

Ghadery’s career has been heavily intertwined with fitness, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Global Operations for Gold’s Gym International. In this role, his direct responsibilities included managing over 100 corporate-owned locations across the United States, supporting almost 600 franchised locations across 30 countries, and overseeing approximately 5,000 employees. Prior to that, he worked at 24 Hour Fitness for nearly eight years, working his way up from front desk and Personal Trainer to District Manager in one of the most competitive fitness markets – Los Angeles. Ghadery has also been a franchisee in a couple of industries as an owner and a partner.

Prior to his career in fitness, Ghadery followed his calling to join the United States Marine Corps after the attacks on September 11, 2001, where he served for eight years. While he had a background in jiu-jitsu and boxing prior to enlisting, it was in the military where he truly found his passion for fitness and training, a passion that ultimately led Ghadery on a non-traditional and impressive path. This included earning two honor graduate awards from basic training and infantry school, as well as receiving two meritorious promotions. As such, Ghadery became an instructor of hand-to-hand combat skills for his fellow servicemen and women, an honor typically designated for Marines ranked Sergeant or higher.

“I am thrilled to join BoxUnion Holdings for several reasons,” said Ghadery. “TITLE Boxing Club and BoxUnion are both strong brands with compelling product offerings. I am focused on bringing technology, automation and a data-driven culture to the company. I am equally committed to delivering a high-quality franchisee service model that is coupled with operational excellence to push our brands to the next level. I look forward to further developing our team as well as bringing in top-tier talent to execute our vision. With Todd and Felicia (Felicia Alexander – Chief Revenue Officer and Co-Founder) at the helm, this is the team I want to be by my side in the ring.”

Ghadery is based in Dallas and will oversee leadership teams at both BoxUnion and TITLE Boxing Club.

2021-01-06T14:37:53-05:00January 6th, 2021|Tags: , , , , , |

Combined Company will be Leading Boutique Boxing Franchise with 166 Clubs and More than 65K Members and Digital Subscribers.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. and OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — BoxUnion, a California-based fitness boxing brand, announced today that it has acquired TITLE Boxing Club (TITLE), a fitness studio with 166 clubs across the United States, Mexico and the Dominican Republic specializing in boxing and kickboxing fitness classes. The transaction was backed by Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano SUPERCHARGED Initiative (KJSI), BoxUnion’s lead investor, plus other existing shareholders. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition brings together the best of both worlds, combining BoxUnion’s innovative programing with TITLE’s brand awareness. Founded in 2016 by Todd Wadler and Felicia Alexander, BoxUnion has experienced significant membership and subscriber growth due to its accessible, inventive and effective approach to boxing. This approach integrates music, mindfulness and community into a meticulously programmed class structure. In April of 2020, the brand launched BoxUnion Digital, which brings the BoxUnion in-studio class experience to subscribers anywhere in the world.

As a result of the acquisition, Wadler takes over as CEO and Alexander will continue in her role as the Chief Revenue Officer of the combined company. TITLE Boxing Club’s ownership team will remain equity holders in the new company and consists of two International Franchise Association (IFA) Entrepreneur of the Year recipients, three IFA chairpersons, and one IFA Hall of Famer. This includes a powerhouse of best-in-class franchise industry leaders including former CEO John Rotche, David Barr, Shelly Sun, Doc Cohen, and NFL superstar and future Hall of Famer Drew Brees. In addition, Rotche will continue to serve on the board of the combined company. Brooke Budke, who is currently TITLE Boxing Club’s Vice President of Marketing, will take over as President, Franchise System.

“TITLE Boxing Club is the biggest player in the fitness boxing and kickboxing category. Our goal is to triple the studio base while also providing a state-of-the-art, engaging digital experience to the at-home market,” said Wadler. “We are excited to bring together TITLE Boxing Club’s scale and brand awareness with BoxUnion’s culture of innovation to drive the first, true omni-channel fitness boxing offering to millions of consumers anytime, anywhere. I’m thrilled to partner with the TITLE Boxing Club team, the franchisees and all the partners within the TITLE Boxing Club brand as we embark on the next stage of growth.”

“As studio operators ourselves, Todd and I understand firsthand the impact this sport can have on building a local community and empowering people to throw a punch at the daily challenges life throws our way,” said Alexander. “Now more than ever, it is critical to provide an outlet for the stress millions of people are going through. We have members that have been outspoken about how BoxUnion has helped alleviate depression and build confidence. With more than 65,000 members and digital subscribers, the combined company will now be able to provide this experience to more people than ever.”

Wadler spent over 20 years in finance and co-founded Moelis & Company, a publicly traded, leading global independent investment bank and asset management firm. Passionate about fitness, he saw an opportunity to grow the market in fitness boxing. Alexander boasted a successful career as a sales and marketing executive for companies including Sun Microsystems, Sony, Mattel, and Demand Media. She is deeply passionate about boxing as a vehicle to change people’s lives, having put on gloves for the first time at 16 shortly after her father’s sudden death.

“The popularity of fitness boxing and kickboxing is growing rapidly. I set out on a deliberate path to find a promising boxing brand to accelerate our growth,” said Rotche. “Todd and Felicia’s collective dedication to revolutionizing the fitness boxing category make them the ideal new owners for TITLE Boxing Club and the optimal partner to our passionate franchisees. The two brands integrate seamlessly due to their commitment to the same core demographic and bringing the mental and physical benefits of boxing to all ages, genders, and experience levels.”

“You can expect us to expand our fitness offering with the added leadership of the BoxUnion team. Currently 81% of our locations are open and provide a safe, no-touch boxing workout for people looking to destress, get results, feel better, and gain confidence,” said Budke. “With demand for health and wellness at the highest it’s ever been, we have plans to expand into new markets, giving future franchisees an amazing opportunity to turn their passion into a profession. We adamantly believe in providing the most effective workout, in local communities and online. I look forward leading the charge for the next phase of growth in our franchise system.”

Kwanza Jones, co-founder of KJSI said, “We always look for opportunities to build mutually beneficial powerful partnerships. The BoxUnion and TITLE Boxing Club combination is just that. This investment aligns perfectly with two of KJSI’s focus areas: entrepreneurship and empowerment. Our franchisees are entrepreneurs and 70 percent of our consumers are women. We look forward to boosting opportunities for existing and new franchisees as they support our consumers on their health and fitness journey.”
