After two decades in residential real estate, Hilary and Greg Eldridge were ready for a new chapter – one that would allow them to help people while making a deeper impact in their Chicago hometown. Hilary’s personal experience caring for her father, who developed Parkinson’s disease in his 80s, inspired their career shift.

“I always admired that even as the disease progressed, he kept his youthful spirit. He did not want his family to help with his personal care as his needs changed,” Hilary said. “He had a wonderful caregiver, Joe, who didn’t treat my father like an old man with Parkinson’s. He met him where he was at and saw him for all that he was. He lived a full life of 92 years with dignity at home.”

After reviewing various franchise brands, the Eldridges were drawn to Home Helpers® Home Care because of its financial and organizational structure.

The Eldridges launched their Alpharetta, Georgia, office 13 years ago. Today, their location serves the North Atlanta suburbs and six surrounding counties, providing personalized, compassionate care to seniors and families navigating life’s most vulnerable moments.

“Home Helpers has been a good fit, as we love helping others and making an impact in our community,” Hilary said. “We get good support from the National Support Center and have developed some wonderful friendships and camaraderie with other franchisees across the country.”

For Hilary, the best part of being a Home Helpers Home Care franchisee is being a “light in the storm” for those in need.

“The majority of the families we serve have been thrust into the world of healthcare after a lifetime of independence, careers, families and just living life,” she explained. “Then, a medical event happens – a fall, a diagnosis, a hospitalization – and suddenly they and their loved ones need assistance.”

During those difficult times, the Eldridges take pride in properly matching caregivers with clients to ensure the best home-care experience possible, allowing clients to age with dignity in the comfort of their own homes.
