With a deep-rooted passion for providing compassionate in-home care, Emma Dickison, CEO and president of Home Helpers Home Care, has built a successful franchise brand that’s transforming the industry.
Dickison’s journey into the world of home care was deeply personal, having cared for her grandmother and other family members during their illnesses. It was during these times that she experienced firsthand the challenges and rewards of providing in-home care, which has helped her take Home Helper’s Home Care to new heights.
When Dickison discovered Home Helpers Home Care, she was immediately drawn to the brand’s mission and values. The company’s commitment to providing high-quality, personalized care resonated with her own experiences and aspirations.
In recent years, Home Helpers Home Care has experienced significant growth through investment in technology, services and, most importantly, people. The company’s Cared-4 program is revolutionizing the in-home care industry. By expanding its services beyond traditional caregiving to include monitoring solutions, wellness calls and meal assistance, Cared-4 enables clients to live more independently and comfortably at home.
“At Home Helpers, we’ve invested significantly in technology, services, and our people to ensure we provide the highest quality care,” Dickison said. “Most importantly, our team of dedicated franchisees and caregivers is the heart of our success. By investing in their training and well-being, we empower them to deliver exceptional care.”
The company’s investments in technology, such as the recently launched consumer website and ongoing pilot programs, demonstrate its commitment to innovation and improving the client experience. With a strong network of 348 franchises across 39 states and one Canadian province, Home Helpers Home Care is well-positioned to continue providing exceptional care to families nationwide.
In addition to being CEO and president of Home Helpers Home Care, Dickison is also a strong advocate for women in franchising. As a recipient of the Crystal Compass Leadership Award from the Women’s Franchise Committee, Dickison is eager to share the experiences of being women-led and women-owned businesses and get more women involved in franchising. At Home Helpers Home Care, Dickison has taken steps to promote gender equality in franchising. The company’s leadership team is comprised of 50% women, and 60-70% of mid-tier leaders are also women.
“Find your voice, seek a mentor, support other women and embrace failure as a stepping stone to success,” Dickison advised. “Remember, setbacks are temporary, and they offer valuable lessons for growth. To make a lasting change, be bold in your choices and seek out like-minded individuals who share your passion and vision.”
Looking ahead, Dickison envisions continued growth for Home Helpers Home Care. The company plans to expand its impact domestically in the coming years. Dickison also is excited about new pilot programs that will allow franchisees to offer additional services to their clients, enhancing the client experience.
“I believe in a future where compassionate care is accessible to all,” Dickison said. “At Home Helpers, we’re committed to leading the way, innovating to meet evolving needs, and fostering a culture of empathy and respect. Together, we can build a world where everyone feels valued and supported.”
