Bringing Order to Chaos: Franchise Consultant Daniel Purim Helps Clients Find the Right Franchise Fit

After surviving a couple of rounds of layoffs at his last corporate job, Daniel Purim finally succumbed to a company-wide downsizing.

“It was quick and impersonal. A five-minute phone call with two people who knew nothing about the impact of my work, rushing to lock me out of the system before I even had the chance to send a farewell message to my colleagues,” he said. “Later, I found out that 17 others were also let go and that our department had been decimated… that was the moment I realized how little control I had over my own future.”

After the layoff, finding a rewarding corporate role at a senior level became difficult. With encouragement from his wife, Purim started exploring franchise opportunities.

“There is something empowering about controlling your time, your decisions, and owning the outcome,” he said.

After evaluating a few franchise opportunities, the couple decided to join FranServe and launch a consulting business called Franchise Wizards.

“Franchise search can be overwhelming. I enjoy bringing order to chaos by helping people find the right franchise fit and gain clarity before they make a decision,” he said.

Purim’s approach is educational with a focus on breaking down complex topics into more manageable pieces.

“Our role is to help potential franchisees ask the right questions, evaluate the opportunity properly, and make an informed decision,” he noted. “We are willing to have the difficult conversations early in the process, especially around financial qualifications, funding strategies, and realistic time availability for managing the business.”

He truly loves the flexibility that this role affords.

“From a structural standpoint, the ability to operate from virtually anywhere in the world where there is a reliable internet connection, is a great advantage,” he said. “Control over my time, the mobility of the business, and the ability to work with both domestic and international prospective franchisees are some of the things I value most.”

And the benefits of partnering with FranServe are many.

“FranServe has a special place in my heart. It opened the door to a new industry and provided the education, certifications, and the technology I needed to get started and scale a successful business,” he said. “Being surrounded by like-minded consultants and franchise development professionals who support each other, collaborate, and exchange ideas creates an environment where everyone continues to improve and raise the standard of the industry.”

Happily reflecting on his 10-year anniversary as a franchise consultant, Purim says the job shift would not have been possible without the support of his wife.

“She is my marketing mentor and the self-proclaimed ‘CEO of my life,’ he said. “Both of us come from entrepreneurial families who built their own businesses, often learning through trial and error. That experience gave me an appreciation for franchising, where there is structure, guidance, and a proven playbook for someone entering business ownership.”

To help grow his business in the future, Pruim is now leaning into more collaborations with other consultants and strategic partners in the industry. He is also exploring more opportunities to teach others about franchising.

“That has become a passion of mine and I hope to continue it in the future.”
