FRANCHISEE OF THE MONTH: Brett Sanders, Assisting Hands Home Care, Arlington, VA
Brett Sanders, a former CPA and financial consultant, was eager to find a more meaningful career path. His search led him to Assisting Hands® Home Care, a home care company that would allow him to combine his entrepreneurial desires with his genuine passion for helping others.
“The more I got involved, the more I realized how much I could truly help people,” said Sanders. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact we make on our clients’ lives, day in and day out.”
Sanders’ journey started slow, but he quickly gained momentum thanks to the brand’s assistance and guidance. Sanders particularly valued the mentorship of his area representative, a local expert who shared his knowledge and experience. This personalized support was instrumental in helping Sanders navigate the industry’s complexities during the initial stages of his business.
“Starting out in such a competitive market like Arlington, Virginia, was tough. It took time to build a strong foundation and find my footing,” Sanders explained. “Sometimes, a slow start can lead to a stronger finish.”
Sanders’ hard work paid off in his second year, when he achieved excellent growth and 10 times the revenue of his first year. Even through the COVID-19 pandemic, Sanders was able to double his revenue and continue his growth streak.
“My slow start actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise,” said Sanders. “The national office really went the extra mile to support me. They were proactive, checking in regularly and offering practical advice. They even paid for a sales training course to help me sharpen my skills.”
Assisting Hands offers a network of franchisees, or FOFO® (Family of Franchise Owners), committed to helping each other. This supportive community fosters collaboration and shared knowledge. For instance, a struggling franchisee reached out to Sanders for advice, even flying to Virginia to learn how he managed his business. This kind of camaraderie and support is invaluable and sets the company apart.
“I’m excited about the future of Assisting Hands and the continued growth of our franchise network,” said Sanders. “With the increasing demand for quality in-home care, I believe we have a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of countless individuals.”
