Balancing Growth, Family & Operations
Over a decade ago, Robert Moschorak excelled as president and general manager of Ace International. He went on to work with other organizations following a five-year tenure but was impressed with Ace Hardware Corporation’s brand, team and leadership quality.
“I always aligned with Ace’s value system and had the privilege to meet incredible people involved with the brand nationally and internationally,” Moschorak said.
Today, he owns four Ace Handyman Services® territories in Florida, covering the high-traffic corridor between Tampa and Orlando. Having achieved his five-year business goals, he is excited to diversify.
“We are looking at various growth opportunities, attacking other sales channels to service different sectors,” said Moschorak.
With a business model that enabled him to recruit his wife, son and father-in-law, being a franchisee has provided him with the opportunity to spend more time with family while building a business they are all proud of. His family business runs like a well-oiled machine through collaboration and a shared commitment to surpass client expectations.
With a great team of craftsmen and a strong office manager – his wife Samantha – he successfully balances his daily leadership responsibilities.
This is what a typical day looks like for Moschorak:
- 7 a.m. Moschorak takes on early meetings, networking and community outreach. Samantha focuses on operations and work orders, enabling him to step in with solutions when needed, ensuring workdays run smoothly and clients are taken care of.
- 10 a.m. After planning his route, Moschorak visits work sites and gets client estimates. With a large territory to service, he spends a lot of time on the road, focused on customer service and support.
- 1 p.m. While spending some time in the office, Moschorak works on administrative operations while continuing to address customer issues and inquiries, preparing estimates and processing additional service requests.
- 4 p.m. He looks at ongoing jobs, financials, sales reports, work schedules and pending estimates, as well as follows up with customers and team members. He also dedicates time to analyzing and responding to customer reviews.
- 5 p.m. Moschorak attends networking or local community events, helping build the brand and strengthen relationships in the communities they serve.
