CARROLLTON, Texas — The Dallas Business Journal recently named Catherine Monson, CEO of FASTSIGNS International, Inc. as a 2019 Most Admired CEO. The 20 North Texas CEO honorees this year come from a range of industries including architecture, manufacturing, finance, healthcare, real estate, technology and transportation.

The Dallas Business Journal created The Most Admired CEO Awards in 2018 to recognize executives not only for impressive stewardship of their companies, but also for cultivating an inclusive, collaborative culture. Honorees hold their employees, products and services in the highest regard, run their companies with integrity and efficiency, and inspire those around them.

Selected from hundreds of nominees, the 2019 honorees will be recognized at an Awards Dinner on September 25 at the Belo Mansion in Dallas. FASTSIGNS® International, Inc. Appoints New Chief Information Officer

CARROLLTON, Texas — FASTSIGNS International, Inc., the franchisor of more than 700 FASTSIGNS® locations in nine countries worldwide, has welcomed Shayne Mehringer as the company’s new Chief Information Officer.

Shayne Mehringer is a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) who began his career with IBM and brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience with an extensive background in franchising, information technology, business startups and acquisitions. In his most recent role as CIO for Neighborly (formerly the Dwyer Group), the multi-brand franchisor based in Waco, he was responsible for the company’s global technology strategy and digital footprint for their 22 brands, representing over 3600 franchises. In that role, he worked to improve program performance, manage risk for Neighborly franchise brands and provide business transformation oversight.

During his time as CIO for Neighborly, Mehringer was also the president of ZorWare, LLC, which is a subsidiary of Neighborly that delivers technology solutions to franchisees, such as point-of-sale and accounting software. In addition, Mehringer has served as Senior Vice-President for a Mark Cuban-owned data center and cloud services company in Dallas, Texas, and he has spent over a decade launching and managing a series of startups in manufacturing, technology consulting, commercial printing and e-commerce. In 2008, he sold these businesses and held a seat on the Board of Directors and served as President of the operating entities until 2011.

The new location is targeted to open in the Loop and will be owned and operated by Tony McHale.

FASTSIGNS(R) Franchisees and Vendors Give Back to St. Louis Schools During FASTSIGNS Annual Outside Sales Summit

CARROLLTON, Texas — Attendees at the 2019 FASTSIGNS Outside Sales Summit in St. Louis, Missouri partnered with the Little Bit Foundation to assemble and donate 2,000 Back-to-School bags as part of a “FASTSIGNS Community Giveback.” The bags, containing pencils, markers and more, were assembled on Saturday, August 10 during the “Breakfast with a Purpose” event. The Riverview Gardens School District was the recipient, with school supply kits created for 2,000 of their most deserving students.

The Little Bit Foundation supports 13,000 students in the St. Louis and surrounding areas. 2,000 of these children live in extreme poverty and lack the basic essentials, which can inhibit their ability to focus in the classroom, engage in learning and be a successful student.

Through the FASTSIGNS Community Giveback Project, Franchisees and their employees from five  countries, as well as FASTSIGNS International team members and vendors, came together to support an important cause and help the St. Louis community.

“At FASTSIGNS, we believe in leaving the communities where we host events better than we found them, and this is why we created the Community Giveback Project. Along with our partners in giving at the annual “Breakfast with a Purpose,” we were honored to have the opportunity to help support students at Riverview Gardens School District,” said Tracy Lake, Director of Events at FASTSIGNS International, Inc.

Partners in giving for this event included Click2Sell, Avery Dennison, Grimco, Zoo Printing, COLEX, Glantz and Window Film Depot who generously contributed funds for the donation items.

“The partnership with FASTSIGNS was amazing!  Because of their donation of time, talent and resources, we will be able to help all of the elementary school children in an entire district go back to school fully prepared,” said Betsy Schmidt, Donor and Community Relationships Manager. “Having the FASTSIGNS team assemble the kits saved our small staff HOURS of time packing school supplies. We are truly grateful for their commitment to help the Riverview Gardens School District students return to school ready for success!  We thank the entire FASTSIGNS network!”

FASTSIGNS International, Inc. Hosts Ninth Annual Outside Sales Summit

CARROLLTON, Texas — FASTSIGNS International, Inc., the world’s leading sign and visual graphics franchisor with more than 700 FASTSIGNS locations in nine countries worldwide, hosted its ninth annual Outside Sales Summit August 8-10 in St. Louis, Missouri. There were over 315 people from five countries in attendance.

Themed Ready Set Grow, the 2019 Outside Sales Summit celebrated the FASTSIGNS network’s sales achievements between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019. At the formal awards presentation, a record 161 Outside Sales Professionals were recognized, including 12 who received the prestigious Platinum Award for achieving over $1 million in individual sales during the 12-month period. Additionally, 27 individuals became Certified FASTSIGNS Sales Executives after completing an extensive certification program during the same period. 2019 marked the first year for presenting the Catherine Monson Salesperson of the Year Award, which recognized one Outside Sales Professional who best represents the concept and the spirit of the brand, both in the business community and within the FASTSIGNS network. Mark Van Ermen from FASTSIGNS of Milwaukee, WIGlendale was recognized as the inaugural recipient of the Catherine Monson Salesperson of the Year Award.

Independent Survey Shows Female Franchise Owners Are Highly Satisfied with FASTSIGNS’ Performance

CARROLLTON, Texas FASTSIGNS International, Inc., franchisor of FASTSIGNS®, the leading sign, graphics and visual communications franchise, announced today that it has been named a top franchise for women by Franchise Business Review in its 2019 Top Franchises for Women Report.

FASTSIGNS was among more than 265 franchise brands that participated in Franchise Business Review‘s research on the Top Franchises for Women. FASTSIGNS’ franchisees were surveyed on 33 benchmark questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding critical areas of their franchise systems, including leadership, training and support, financial opportunity, and work/life balance.

FASTSIGNS® Launches First Location in Queens, New York

Candy and Graydon Grush Open New Business with Support of Franchising Industry Veteran

CARROLLTON, Texas — FASTSIGNS International, Inc. recently announced the opening of a new center location under the support of franchising industry veteran Greg Carafello of Executive Franchise Group, LLC. Carafello is working to utilize his New York business relationships to bring this region’s centers through the process from opening to actively thriving business.

As part of his Area Representative Agreement with FASTSIGNS®, Carafello agreed to develop new FASTSIGNS locations in all of the city’s five boroughs, as well as oversee franchise development and provide operational support for the market throughout its ongoing growth. FASTSIGNS currently has two existing locations in Manhattan and Staten Island, with plans to develop more than 20 additional centers in the coming years. With this plan in place, FASTSIGNS has the opportunity to penetrate the business market and increase the market share.

FASTSIGNS of South Ozone Park in Queens is the first of its kind to open under the direction of Carafello. Franchisees, Candy and Graydon Grush have converted their current sign business to a FASTSIGNS center, and as a conversion, the center is well on its way to success with a ready-to-utilize book of business.

Catherine Monson Highlighting Value of Mentorship in Keynote Address

CARROLLTON, Texas — Catherine Monson, CEO at FASTSIGNS International, Inc. and Vice-Chair of the International Franchise Association, is the Program Chair for this year’s 7th Annual Springboard Event and will be delivering a Mainstage Keynote Address on Thursday, September 19. This highly-anticipated gathering, hosted by FisherZucker, FishmanPR and Entrepreneur, will take place from September 18-20 and will be held at The Westin Philadelphia Hotel located at 99 South 17th Street at Liberty Place in Philadelphia.

The Springboard Event brings over 450 franchise founders and senior executives together for a 3-day conference where attendees learn from the best in the business as speakers share valuable and actionable advice that can help franchisors take their business to the next level.

Monson’s keynote address will follow an interview format with her former boss and long-time mentor, Don Lowe, CEO of Franchise Services, Inc., franchisor of TeamLogicIT, Sir Speedy, PIP and MultiCopy, about the immeasurable value of mentorship and best practices in franchising. Don Lowe oversees all FSI companies, and his 47-year career in franchising includes his work as Senior Vice President for Kampgrounds of America (KOA) and President of Sir Speedy from 1981 to 1996.

Catherine was a team member at Sir Speedy, Inc. in 1981 when Don Lowe was appointed President of Sir Speedy. Together, they built Sir Speedy from under 200 locations to over 850. In 1996, Sir Speedy, Inc. purchased MultiCopy and PIP Printing and created the holding company Franchise Services, Inc. Catherine worked for Don until she left Franchise Services in 2008 to become CEO of FASTSIGNS International. She continues to benefit from his mentorship.
