Rooted in Compassion, Quality & Adaptability

Eric Brown came to Assisting Hands® Home Care with a background in business leadership and a strong interest in purpose-driven work.

“I was looking for an opportunity that combined professional growth with meaningful impact,” said Brown, a top-performing, multi-award-winning Assisting Hands franchise owner based in Naples, Florida. “Assisting Hands stood out because of its commitment to quality care, strong operational support and a culture that truly values both clients and caregivers. It felt like a franchise where I could build a business while genuinely improving lives, which made it the right fit for me.”

Brown, who has been part of the Assisting Hands system for several years, has witnessed the brand mature, strengthen its infrastructure and adapt to the evolving needs of seniors and their families during his tenure. From an ownership perspective, he believes senior home care has proven to be a durable franchise investment simply because of need. Assisting Hands, which provides a wide range of in-home care services – including home health care, personal care, companionship, meal preparation and medication reminders – is at the forefront.

“Senior home care is built on a fundamental and growing need: helping people remain safe and independent at home,” Brown said. “Unlike trend-driven industries, this need is not discretionary. Families seek care regardless of economic cycles which makes the category inherently resilient. When paired with a strong brand and operational model, it becomes a long-term, sustainable investment.”

Additionally, as more families balance work, distance and caregiving responsibilities, many adult children want to support their parents but cannot do it alone.

“That reality has made professional home care not just helpful but essential,” said Brown. “Over time, this has translated into consistent inquiry volume and longer-term care relationships.”

Brown, who leads one of the system’s highest-producing agencies and has been recognized with multiple awards for performance, growth and operational excellence, says there are many advantages to the Assisting Hands model, including scalability.

“While the company is a franchise, they allow you the freedom to adapt to the needs of your respective territory,” he explained. “In our case, we have been able to differentiate ourselves with a superior level of service to cater to the upscale clientele who predominate our area and demand and can afford more individualized care. This latitude has enabled us to provide added-value services that have garnered us recognition as one of the top 100 home care agencies in North America. The ability to grow while maintaining quality and consistency has been a major advantage.”

Compared to many other facility-based, health-related franchise concepts, the relatively low real estate footprint is also an advantage.

“The limited real estate requirement significantly reduces fixed overhead and allows for greater flexibility,” Brown said. “Resources can be allocated where they matter most: caregiver support, client experience and community outreach. It also allows owners to adapt more easily as the business grows without being locked into costly facilities.”

For Brown, the success of his Assisting Hands franchise is rooted in a simple but powerful idea: when you build a business around compassion, quality and adaptability, you create something that lasts.
