As a part of the Moran Family of Brands, one of the largest automotive aftermarket franchisors in the nation and abroad, Mr. Transmission/Milex continues to have a tremendous impact on the automotive-repair and maintenance-services industry, even as the pandemic and the semiconductor chip shortage impact car owners.

“We are 23% ahead of last year’s sales. We are having, on average, about three stores a week setting new sales goals all over the country,” said Peter Baldine, president of Moran Family of Brands.

With a trailblazer at its helm, these figures aren’t surprising. As a recipient of countless awards, including the IFA Bonny LeVine Award in 2014, Barbara Moran-Goodrich, CEO and owner of Moran Family of Brands, has laid the groundwork for greatness in a male-dominated industry. And Mr. Transmission/Milex female franchisees have, unsurprisingly, followed suit.

Melissa Riedesel, who runs the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, location with her partner Grant Humston, is on track to hit $1 million in revenue this year and will set a record as the fastest new-store ramp-up ever. After looking for a franchise that could utilize her business expertise and Humston’s mechanic experience, Riedesel knew Milex was the right fit.

“Being a part of the Moran Family has been a very humbling and rewarding experience. I feel empowered by the way they help when needed and are always there for encouragement,” Riedesel said.

Susan Trumble, owner of the Florence, Kentucky, location, has been lauded for her hard work and dedication on several occasions, including as Mr. Transmission 2017 Franchisee of the Year. Her response about her most proud accomplisment: “Having my crew buy me a birthday cake and sing happy birthday to me was huge. They’re like my brothers,” she said. Trumble represents everything that Mr. Transmission/Milex prides itself on: a driven individual who cares about her employees and customers as family.

After more than 25 years of running a successful business, Trumble has advice for anyone, especially women, who may be reluctant to open a Mr. Transmission/Milex franchise. “Don’t be afraid to explore this avenue for your career. You don’t have to be all brazen to run an automotive business. You can do great things,” she said.
