When Alex Sabbagh started his career in the staffing and recruiting industry, he quickly developed a passion for matching people with great job opportunities and careers. So, when he was presented with an opportunity to work as part of the franchise development team for a leading company in the commercial cleaning space, he jumped at the chance.
“This opportunity sort of just fell in my lap, I knew nothing about franchising at the time,” Sabbagh said. “But I had a lot of recruiting and staffing experience which made me a good candidate for walking franchisees through the discovery process.”
Franchising proved to be an all-around fit for Sabbagh, and within a few years, he joined the world’s second largest franchisor group. As director of franchise development for the group’s largest and oldest brand, it was his responsibility to recruit new franchise owners all over the U.S. and Canada – a task he has excelled in for the past 11 years.
In 2022, he added another line to his resume, taking on the role of full-time certified franchise consultant with FranServe.
“I’ve always had a passion for meeting new people and watching both the business and individual grow,” he said. “Being a franchise consultant allows me to combine both those tasks in a meaningful way. I love working with people from all different industries, helping entrepreneurs take that leap with a proven brand and concept. “I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method when it comes to franchising,” he said. “Every client has different goals, skills and financial situations.”
His first step is to listen and understand what each prospective client is looking for before creating an in-depth profile on their background, interests and investment levels.
“It helps me get a clear picture before I present them with opportunities that align with their goals,” he said. “Then we discuss each option in detail and refine their choices until they’re ready for an introduction with the franchisor.”
But the work doesn’t stop there, Sabbagh said. He stays involved in the entire process, always available to answer questions and concerns.
“My goal is to make sure the experience goes smoothly and they have all the info and tools they need to achieve success,” he said.

“I think my background in staffing and recruitment set the foundation for my success in franchise development and now in consulting,” he concluded.
