At the start of a new year, we often think about all the opportunities ahead. If you are looking to make a change from a long-term career in the hopes of finding something new and exciting, or you’re just entering the working world, franchising is an excellent sector to consider.
Alesia Visconti, CEO and president of FranServe, Inc., shared “My favorite hashtag on social media is ‘#changinglives.’ While it may sound dramatic, that’s exactly what we do! And not just for the new franchise owner, but for all the people impacted by that new unit. It’s a ripple effect, and it spreads far-reaching joy. When I got started in the franchise space, I was an affiliate franchise consultant with FranServe, Inc. and changed the lives of many. But when I acquired the company and became the CEO and President, I witnessed how FranServe changes the lives of thousands and thousands of people! Business owners, families, employees, and entire communities!”
Here are just a few ways to be part of the franchise world and benefit from all it has to offer.
Franchise Owner (Franchisee): Owning a franchise is the most common way people think of participating in franchising. According to Zippia, there are nearly 674,000 franchise owners in the U.S., and 0.5% of all businesses are franchises as reported by the U.S. Census Bureau. Many different industries are represented including home Improvement, health and wellness, children’s services, pet care and food and beverage. There’s literally something for everyone. Additionally, franchise owners need employees! Becoming an employee of a franchise will not only provide an income but also work experience. This could potentially lead to opportunities for future ownership.
Franchise Consulting: The role of a franchise consultant is to help prospective candidates identify and invest in franchises.
Daniel Hayes, owner of Hundred Acre Consulting LLC, a FranServe, Inc. affiliate, explained: “FranServe allows me to be me. As a Certified Franchise Consultant, I help people change their lives and their family’s lives through business ownership, but it doesn’t stop there. If there are employees involved in the new business, I’ve helped them and their families. If it’s a storefront franchise, then a bright, shiny new penny just opened in the community. Everybody feels a little better, and no matter what the franchise is, all of it creates ancillary income for the town.”
Franchisor: A franchisor is an individual or company that sells or grants a franchise for the sale of goods or the operation of a service. If you currently own a business and see the potential to grow and scale by creating a franchise network, there are countless ways to make this happen. You should seek the advice of a professional to learn about what steps should be taken to become a franchisor and what you will need to be successful in this pursuit.
Working for or with a franchisor can also offer opportunities in the franchise sector. being an employee, marketing consulting, legal, development, sales, training and so much more.
