BLUE ASH, Ohio — Handyman Connection, a home repair company with more than 25 years of experience, announced today it was recognized by Franchise Update Media for its outstanding innovation in local marketing leadership. Franchise Update Media conducted its first-ever Franchise Innovation Awards contest this past spring and identified the franchisors that have created and implemented the most original and successful innovative strategies and tactics to build their brand.

A jury of nine judges evaluated the campaigns, innovations, objectives, and results of more than 90 entrants. Franchise innovators, industry game-changers and disruptors competed in four categories: Marketing & Branding, Products & Services, Operations, and Human Resources. Handyman Connection was recognized in the Marketing & Branding category for it’s localized marketing efforts to increase franchisees ability to recruit and retain quality craftsmen to fulfill the brand promise to customers. The home office team allocated resources to this crucial aspect of the business, allowing franchisees to focus on the execution and completion of jobs in their local communities.

“The tight labor market across the industry has consistently proven to be the most prominent challenge that our franchisees and marketing team face on an ongoing basis and the need for qualified and reliable craftsmen is in high demand across the nation,” said Jeff Wall, President and CEO of Handyman Connection. “By prioritizing our resources, we’ve seen more qualified craftsman applicants, applicant leads, recruiting and onboarding sessions. This has led to more craftsmen joining our organization resulting in an 18% increase measured quarter over quarter system-wide. We’re thrilled to be recognized for these efforts and look forward to continuing to fulfill our brand promise to support our franchisees with the tools and resources they need to secure ongoing success.”

Ranked as the #1 Handyman Company by Qualified Remodeler, Handyman Connection operates more than 68 locations throughout 25 states and Canada. You CAN open a franchise without worrying about money

2019-08-07T12:43:13-04:00August 5th, 2019|

One of the biggest concerns for new franchise owners is, “Will I have enough money to open the business and run it successfully?” The answer is definitely YES. Take a look below to see why.

Squirrel money away

One way to be at your most financially comfortable during your franchise start up is to use saved money. Ideally, you’d have been saving for months or even years before the opening. But if your franchise nest egg looks a little fragile, see where you can cut items from your personal life to fund your dream.

Be a borrower

There’s no shame in borrowing money to open your franchise. People do it all the time. Borrowed money can come from a loan, investor, or even an online campaign to raise cash and awareness for your franchise.

Bargain hunt

There are budget-friendly options for every franchise. You just need to know where to look for them. Things like décor and stock items exist in every price range, and you don’t necessarily need to have the very best when you’re just starting out.

If you’re still worried about money when opening your franchise, talk to your franchisor. They may have even more ideas on how to save, so you can start up and breathe a sigh of relief!

Fibrenew Celebrates Sponsorship of Pioneering Female Pro FMX Rider Kassie Boone

2019-08-02T11:30:55-04:00August 2nd, 2019|Tags: , , , , , |

The daughter of longtime franchise owner Blair Boone, Kassie acknowledges ‘huge role’ her father and his business played in supporting her FMX ascent

LONDONKassie Boone is one of only two women in the world who jumps 75 feet on a bike and performs Superman feet grabs, heel clickers and switchblades.

She is a pioneering freestyle motocross (FMX) rider, touring this world with Monster Jam. And since she’s been competing for the last decade and a half, the now-29-year-old has had a longstanding sponsor: Fibrenew, the franchise her father Blair Boone runs in her hometown of London, Ontario.

Fibrenew is marking the 15th year of its London-franchise sponsoring this celebrated female rider, someone who is breaking boundaries in her sport and empowering women around the world to follow their dreams.

“When Kassie was five, she turned to me and said she wanted to ride professionally when she grew up,” Blair Boone said. “It is something I had done since I was a kid and had introduced to my children at an early age. Encouraging her to follow her passion, riding became a weekend sport for us. I would take her older brother and her to events — it was a family thing. She just caught on and loved it.”

In the earlier days of his Fibrenew leather, plastic and vinyl restoration repair franchise, Blair started using his Fibrenew trailer to haul Kassie’s bikes for weekend shows she competed in as a teenager. He would “dig into his pockets” since the beginning of launching his business to drum up the funds to buy her the right bikes and equipment and sponsor her events.

“My dad has played a huge role in supporting me,” Kassie said. “He was always working hard and doing everything he could to get us on bikes. He always let us do it how we wanted to, which I especially appreciated. His encouragement and the support of Fibrenew franchise helped pave the way for where I am today.”

Fibrenew, founded in 1985, prides itself on being a flexible model that provides franchise owners the tools they need to grow their territory while offering them a business opportunity that helps them build a legacy and support their families. Blair Boone’s franchise has done just that.

“We’re so impressed with Blair and the support he gives to his incredibly talented and amazing daughter Kassie,” said Michael Wilson, CEO of Fibrenew. “Blair embodies all that makes our franchise family so great — our owners are dedicated people serving their communities and also the ones they love.”

About Fibrenew

Customers love that Fibrenew saves them both time and money by offering an alternative to replacement.
