When I look back at the last several years in franchising, I have to be proud that there are more women than ever making a huge impact on the industry. From suppliers I meet to the founders who are bringing their brands to market, there has been a huge shift. Making a Difference Every Day
When I look back at the last several years in franchising, I have to be proud that there are more women than ever making a huge impact on the industry. From suppliers I meet to the founders who are bringing their brands to market, there has been a huge shift. The conventions and meeting rooms are more balanced, getting closer and closer to 50/50 creating balance and inspiring others (less vocal than me) to speak up and share their story.
This is a reminder that there are people like you in this industry.
If you want to be a franchisor and share your brand to entrepreneurially minded individuals – you can do it.
Offering your brand to others, supporting, uplifting and training them can change the future. Whether it’s home services or personal care – education or pet related, there are people who want to follow a female leader like you.
It works, but only if you have the drive and desire to do it. It takes time, but it is worth building.
If you want to be in business, you can independently own and operate a franchise – and, you have options.
There are many opportunities to suit your investment level, professional experience and interests. From under $100,000 to over a million dollars start-up, franchise brands are actively seeking candidates like you to serve local communities across the country.
The trick? You have to make the first move and express your interests and share your qualifications for consideration.
You may not know that Franchise Dictionary Magazine is owned by and edited by female leaders. Brands presented here are paving the way to the future – impacting lives by building generational wealth through the franchising model. Read more to learn about investing in yourself to open a new business – whether it is your first or your fifth.
You can also become a part of the International Franchise Association (Franchise.org) and get involved with the Women’s Franchise Committee through local Women’s Franchising Network groups. These WFN Chapters are coast to coast and new groups are starting up each year to bring like-minded women together. This is where you will meet professionals, get to know mentors, find support, and form long-lasting friendships. The circle is expanding every day and other women in this community will welcome you with open arms.
Don’t wait for an invitation. Raise your hand. Ask questions. Learn more.
There are so many options to own and operate your own business that suits you – there are no excuses.
I would be remiss if I didn’t remind and encourage you to read more about the Women of Wonder in this issue. They are founders and leaders of brands making waves and making room for people like you.
Yes. It’s hard work to go out and pave the way – but remember, someone did it for you and got you to this moment in time. Keep the momentum going – continue to inspire the next generation of young women out there. They are watching, so let’s all make sure they see something great.
- You are amazing.
- You will create the future.
- You have the power within you.
Make your goals a reality through the franchising model and next year, you may be a “Women of Wonder” that people will watch. Can’t wait to see what you can do.
