Charles Bonfiglio, president, CEO and founder of Tint World Automotive Styling Centers, shares some important advice on how to use franchise systems and turnkey processes to become a better business leader. A younger Bonfiglio wanted nothing more than to start his own business using his own name. However, when he found himself unable to create momentum to move forward with his dreams, he opened up his mind to the possibility of business ownership through franchising. On his own, Bonfiglio faced one dead end after another, but once he had a franchise brand name behind him, doors began to open. Banks loaned him capital, landlords rented to him, and employees wanted to work for him. Bonfiglio learned that when in business on your own, support and credibility can be hard to come by, but in franchising, support for your success is on every corner.

Bonfiglio stated that one big benefit of working in a franchise system is the experience gained by running all aspects of your own business instead of just focusing on one specific area, as an employee would. Business owners learn how to multitask, form a corporation, negotiate a lease, hire and train employees, buy products or equipment, market, advertise, and build their business.

In addition to offering support and credibility as a nationally recognized brand name, a franchise system teaches you methods that help your business grow without your direct, day-to-day involvement, and it shows you how to run multiple locations and expand your business exponentially. Also, a franchise system helps you gain leadership skills and teaches you how to provide structure for employees, both of which are imperative to success. As an employee, you earn a weekly but finite salary, and you might be able to climb the corporate ladder into management. However, as a business owner, your income has the potential to grow far beyond a paycheck from an employer. Bonfiglio wants anyone considering business ownership to know: “As a business owner, the sky is the limit to your growth.”
