Hi all. We’re down to the final five of the Alphabet of Sales. I’ve had a great time sharing these tips and realize that each letter stands for many good sales tips. Whether you use these sales tips or others, have a great time in sales. That’s what it’s all about. FUN!

Vary Your Responses. It’s easy to attach yourself to one phrase and use it repeatedly. Sometime ad nauseam. But remember, it also can be slightly irritating to the person you’re talking with. Hearing the same phrase over and over can be annoying.
Change it up occasionally. Be aware of overusing phrases.

Weak, Wimpy Words. Again, lots of folks insert these without realizing how ‘wimpy’ they sound. Check your own, such as ‘I think,’ ‘I’ll try,’ ‘Maybe,’ and so many more that can and will destroy your intent. (The worst weak, wimpy words being ‘Just a note to say hi.’ ‘Just’ is not a great word to start a sentence with.)

X Out Credibility Busters. Here are some credibility busters used too often.

  • ‘Let me be honest with you.’
  • ‘Can I be perfectly frank with you?’
  • ‘Can I level with you?’

Yup, honestly these reduce the importance of your meaning.

X ‘em out.

Yes. The one word we all love to hear. To a salesperson, it’s usually the most beautiful word we can hear. ‘Yes, I wanna use your product,’ ‘Yes, I want this franchise’ and more. Yes is a goal we need to strive for in sales!

Z End. We so enjoy writing theses short columns for Franchise Dictionary Magazine and sorry it’s ‘Z end’ of the alphabet, but all good things come to an end. Right? We’ll be back with more articles to help make your sales day great.
