Milestone Marks a Decade of Lasting Impact on Communities, Franchise Owners, and the Restoration Industry

TAMARAC, Fla. — PuroClean, one of the country’s leading property restoration and remediation franchises, is celebrating a landmark milestone: the 10-year leadership anniversary of Chairman & CEO Mark W. Davis and Vice Chairman Frank Torre. Since acquiring the brand in September 2015, the duo has overseen its expansion from 222 locations to more than 500 across the U.S. and Canada—a milestone reached earlier this year. Their decade of leadership reflects a commitment to strategic, sustainable growth, operational excellence, and strong Franchise Owner support.

“We are incredibly proud of what our network has achieved. Today, PuroClean stands strong with more than 500 locations across North America and an exceptional community of Franchise Owners who embody the very essence of our mission,” said Davis. “As we reflect on this 10-year milestone in our collective PuroClean journey, our focus remains clear: to support our Franchise Owners daily, to strengthen the PuroClean brand throughout the US and Canada, and to continue building a brand defined by people, passion, and purpose.”

When Davis and Torre took ownership a decade ago, their goal was clear: to build PuroClean into a World-Class Brand that could serve more communities with compassion, technical expertise, and unparalleled service. As a privately owned company, they focused on long-term growth and investing in people, systems, and infrastructure, differentiating PuroClean from many industry players focused on private equity-driven rapid expansion. Today, that vision has become reality, reflected in a 5x increase in average franchise unit sales, expanded training and in-field support initiatives, stronger insurance partnerships, and operational excellence achieved across the network.

In addition, PuroClean further advanced its operations strength with a redesigned vendor partnership model built around value, innovation, cultural alignment, and scalability, connecting the network with high-performing partners who can consistently support growth and service excellence across all markets.

A Decade Defined by Growth, Impact, and Industry Recognition

Under Davis and Torre’s leadership, PuroClean has achieved a sustained trajectory of award-winning performance and innovation. The brand has earned recognition from leading franchise and business authorities, including:

Major Milestones (2015–2025)

  • 2015 – Davis & Torre acquire PuroClean and launch a brand refresh with key insurance partnerships in place.
  • 2016 – Introduce the Signal Referral Incentive Plan for large-scale commercial jobs, and the Certified Priority Response (CPR) Program for premium insurance referrals, expanding opportunities and strengthening customer service nationwide.
  • 2017 – Establish company culture of Servant Leadership, Extreme Ownership, and Active Collaboration, and launch the PuroClean Online Academy—a robust training platform allowing franchises access to continuous education materials.
  • 2018 – Redesign the PuroClean website, earning a gold American Business Award for “Enhanced User Experience” and a bronze International Business Award for “Achievement in User Interface Design.” Upgrade the Training Facility and Flood House into a state-of-the-art educational space, expanding courses and IICRC certifications.
  • 2019 – Launch the PuroVet Program to create entrepreneurial opportunities for veterans and support the veterans already in the network.
  • 2020 – Adapt to the pandemic with hybrid training and virtual support, and introduce The PuroClean Way, the brand’s guiding restoration philosophy.
  • 2021 – Launch the Equipment Rental Program, giving PuroClean Franchise Owners access to critical equipment for large-scale, weather-related restoration projects across the country.
  • 2022 – Expand into Puerto Rico and establish a Sales & Franchise Growth department, designed to strengthen local route sales efforts for business development support nationwide.
  • 2023 – Surpass $400M in systemwide sales and grow PuroClean Canada to 50 locations.
  • 2024 – Achieve SOC2 Type II certification for enhanced data security and launch Partnership for a Resilient America with the U.S. Department of Labor and Resilience Force.
  • 2025 – Reach 500 locations across North America, with the scale and support to help more property owners in need and celebrate 10 years of leadership under Davis and Torre.

“Ten years ago, we set out to invest in people, programs, and culture, and today, the results truly speak for themselves,” said Torre. “This milestone is a testament to the unwavering commitment of every PuroClean team member and PuroClean Franchise Owners who embraced our vision. It also reflects the strength of purpose-driven initiatives like PuroVet, which continues to open doors for veterans to build successful futures through business ownership. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and more than ever, by the opportunities ahead to elevate PuroClean and expand our impact together.”

Looking Ahead: 2026 and Beyond

As PuroClean accelerates into its next phase of growth, Davis and Torre remain focused on advancing the company’s vision as a World-Class Brand rooted in service, expertise, and humanity. Key priorities include:

  • Strategic franchise growth in high-need markets across North America
  • Continued investment in advanced training, reconstruction, and commercial restoration programs
  • Strengthening national insurance partnerships
  • Expanding veteran entrepreneurship through the PuroVet Program
  • Continuously enhancing operational support and technology to better serve PuroClean Franchise Owners

With these initiatives guiding its future, PuroClean is poised to build on its momentum and strengthen its role as a leader in the restoration industry.

Restoration Franchise Offers Veterans Leadership Path, Gaining National Recognition

TAMARAC, Fla. — PuroClean, one of the country’s leading property restoration and remediation franchises, recognizes Congressman John James (MI-10) for his ongoing support of veteran entrepreneurship. A West Point graduate and former Army aviation officer, James has long advocated for pathways that enable veterans to continue serving their communities through business ownership. He points to programs like PuroVet as examples of how veterans can leverage their leadership skills to build successful enterprises.

“Veterans possess the discipline, leadership, and resolve to build strong communities when given room to grow,” said James. “Programs like PuroVet create space for those strengths to continue long after the uniform comes off – not by promising success, but by empowering veterans to pursue it.”

Launched in 2017, the PuroVet Program offers veterans a proven route to franchise ownership. PuroClean operates more than 500 locations across North America, many of which are run by veterans. PuroVet participants receive a 25 percent discount on the franchise fee, industry‑leading training at the PuroClean Academy and Flood House, ongoing mentorship from experienced Franchise Owners, and a recession‑resistant business model within a $210 billion restoration industry. They also join a community of fellow veterans who continue to lead with purpose.

PuroClean’s PuroVet Program demonstrates the power of veteran entrepreneurship. Veteran Franchise Owners at PuroClean consistently deliver high performance and retention, helping families recover from disasters, creating jobs, and building businesses that provide long‑term stability. Their ability to lead teams, remain steady during crises, and deliver exceptional customer service translates naturally into the restoration field, with the program serving as a bridge between their military experience and civilian entrepreneurship.

“Veterans don’t stop leading when their military service ends—they look for their next mission,” said Frank Torre, Vice Chairman of PuroClean. “PuroClean’s PuroVet Program was built to honor that mindset by giving veterans a real pathway to business ownership, economic independence, and continued service to their communities. We’re grateful to Congressman James for recognizing the importance of veteran entrepreneurship and for highlighting programs like PuroVet that empower veterans to turn leadership into lasting impact.”

Property Restoration and Remediation Franchise Identified as an Outstanding Business for Veterans Pursuing Entrepreneurship

TAMARAC, Fla. — PuroCleanone of the country’s leading property restoration and remediation franchiseshas been named a Top Franchise for Veterans by Franchise Business Review (FBR) and ranked number 10 on Entrepreneur’s list of Top Franchises For Veterans for 2025. These recognitions underscore the brand’s strong commitment to empowering military veterans through business ownership opportunities, training, and long-term support.

To determine this year’s list, FBR surveyed more than 2,100 franchise owners across 365 brands, analyzing their satisfaction with key areas such as brand leadership, franchisee support, financial opportunity, and likelihood to recommend their franchise to others. PuroClean’s high marks from veteran and non-veteran franchisees alike earned it a place among the most respected and veteran-friendly franchise systems in the country.

In addition to this honor, PuroClean also achieved a prestigious standing in Entrepreneur magazine’s 2025 Top Franchises for Veterans list, coming in at number 10. The publication considered each company’s veteran incentive, how veteran Franchise Owners are attracted to and supported by the company, and how each company scored in the 2024 Franchise 500. Together, these awards further solidify PuroClean’s position as an industry leader in veteran franchise ownership.

Central to PuroClean’s veteran efforts is its PuroVet program, a comprehensive pathway designed to support veterans transitioning into entrepreneurship. The brand recognizes the outstanding qualities veterans have gained through their service that make them tremendous Franchise Owners in their system and supports them through initiatives such as:

  • Significant financial incentives, with a VetFran discount of 25% of the initial franchise fee and assistance in securing funding
  • Specialized onboarding and training, built around veterans’ proven skills
  • Ongoing mentorship, skill development, and business coaching and connection with fellow veteran Franchise Owners through efforts like the Veteran’s Forum where they get together to discuss ways to make their franchises more successful
  • Access to a national support system powered by industry-leading operations tools and 24/7 assistance

The PuroVet program has enabled veterans nationwide to leverage their leadership experience, resilience, and problem-solving capabilities, traits that directly align with the demands and rewards of running a PuroClean franchise.

“We are deeply honored to receive these recognitions,” said Steve White President of PuroClean. “Veterans bring extraordinary leadership, resilience, and integrity to our organization, and we’re proud that one in seven PuroClean Franchise Owners is a veteran. Their background in teamwork, service-oriented leadership, mission execution, and calm decision-making under pressure directly translates to success in the property restoration industry. We are lucky to have a strong group of veterans in our system that strengthen our entire network and inspire our ongoing commitment to supporting those who have served.”

PuroClean Reaches 500-Unit Milestone, Fueled by People-First Leadership and Relentless Customer Service

2025-09-17T11:42:48-04:00September 17th, 2025|Tags: , , , , , |

Over The Last Decade, The Paramedics of Property Damage Have More Than Doubled Their Franchise Location Count, Cementing Their Status as a Restoration Powerhouse

TAMARAC, Fla. — PuroClean, one of the country’s leading property restoration and remediation franchises, proudly announces a historic milestone: the signing of the brand’s 500th franchise location. This achievement was made possible through the vision and leadership of PuroClean’s owners, Chairman & CEO, Mark W. Davis, and Vice Chairman, Frank TorreTheir investments and commitment to elevated systems have paved the way for PuroClean’s Leadership and Home Office Support Team to help build a World-Class Brand alongside its Franchise Owners. In just 10 years, the brand has grown from 222 to 500 locations across North America, stretching from Hawaii to Puerto RicoSan Diego to VancouverMiami to St. John’s, Newfoundland. This exponential growth reflects more than just expansion; it signals real impact: families supported, communities restored, and a higher bar for the PuroClean network and restoration industry.

Founded in 2001, the brand has seen incredible growth over the past decade. In 2015, Davis and Torre purchased the company. Under their leadership, the average franchise unit sales has grown by five times, and PuroClean has evolved into one of the fastest-growing restoration franchise companies in North America, a sign of the strength and legacy of the brand. Davis and Torre have invested heavily in infrastructure, training, and above all, people, laying the foundation for a culture of Relentless Customer Service that sets PuroClean apart in the restoration industry.

“In 2015, Frank Torre and I didn’t just purchase a restoration company; we invested in a movement in the restoration industry where we believe we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of our PuroClean Franchise Owners, their families, the communities that we serve, and all the people in the PuroClean ecosystem,” said Davis. Speaking on the brand’s recent 500-unit achievement, he added,”…we view it more as a milestone on PuroClean’s journey towards delivering Relentless Customer Service to more communities across the United States and Canada.”

With 500 locations, PuroClean joins a small, distinguished circle of franchise brands. Fewer than 4% of franchise systems nationwide ever achieve this milestone, and PuroClean is proud to stand among them. Each locally owned and operated, community-forward franchise is backed by the strength and support of a national brand, giving customers confidence that when disaster strikes, they can rely on a network proven more than 500 times, and counting.

At 500 units, what stands out most isn’t just our size, it’s our culture. We’ve built a community where people genuinely care about helping each other succeed,” said Tim Courney, Vice President of Franchise Development at PuroClean. “A culture like ours is built with intention, and it starts with finding the right fit. We’re focused on a franchise growth strategy that matches the right people to the right opportunity.”

In 2013, Steve White joined PuroClean as President and COO, and since then, he has helped shape the company’s culture into the strong brand it is today. Eight years ago, multi-unit Franchise Owners Keegan Trudgen and Tim Loshe presented a proposal to White that led to the development of the structure for multi-unit ownership. This June, they signed PuroClean’s 500th franchise agreement live on stage at the PuroClean Annual International Convention in Grapevine, TX, becoming co-owners of PuroClean of North Knoxville, TN. With 14 locations across the U.S., they are the largest multi-unit ownership group in the PuroClean network. Their achievement reflects what drives PuroClean’s success: a dynamic network of hundreds of Franchise Owners who, like Trudgen and Loshe, have helped shape the brand into what it is today. PuroClean’s strength lies in its people, its unwavering commitment to local communities, and its ability to empower its Franchise Owners to answer every call with excellence, compassion, and Relentless Customer Service.

“Keegan and Tim represent everything this brand stands for: commitment to service, belief in the system, and leadership through action,” White said. “Having them sign the 500th franchise at Convention, surrounded by their peers, was one of the most meaningful moments of the event.”

PuroClean Springs into Action During Second-most Intense Flood Season on Record

The Paramedics of Property Damage® Share Severe Flooding and Water Damage Tips with The TODAY Show

TAMARAC, Fla. — PuroClean, one of the country’s leading property restoration and remediation franchises, has stepped onto the national stage as a first responder in the wake of extreme flooding in New Jersey and Wisconsin, sharing its expert tips with NBC’s TODAY Show.

As the U.S. continues to feel the catastrophic and costly effects these weather events have on communities, PuroClean aims to help individuals not only recover but also prepare in advance to mitigate damage. When historic flooding hit parts of New Jersey in July, multi-award-winning PuroClean of Morristown Franchise Owner, Nelson Rivera, jumped headfirst into the crisis, helping property owners recover while educating the nation on how to stay ahead of the next storm. Rivera was recently featured in a national segment on The TODAY Show, where he shared timely, expert tips on preventing water damage before disaster strikes in an era of increasingly frequent and unpredictable weather patterns.

With years of experience responding to restoration disasters, Nelson and his family own and operate six PuroClean franchises—four in New Jersey, one in Hutto, Texas, and one owned in partnership with another PuroClean Franchise Owner in Eugene, Oregon.

Rivera and his wife, Sujey, who were awarded Franchise of the Year earlier this year at PuroClean’s International Convention, for the second year in a row, have built a reputation for excellence. His accolades also include the PuroClean Cares® Award for outstanding community impact, the Brand Promise Award, and four consecutive invitations to the President’s Circle.

“Water moves fast, and if you don’t catch it early, it can do a lot of damage. But a little preparation goes a long way,” Rivera said. “I am grateful to have had the chance to show that PuroClean Franchise Owners are more than just restoration experts; they’re trusted advisors and first responders in their communities. Whether it’s knowing where the shut-off valve is, storing valuables smarter, or investing in routine maintenance, there are many ways to stop water damage in its tracks. It is important not to panic and to lean on the experts when needed.”

According to the National Weather Service, as of mid-July, this year is already the second most active year on record for flash flood emergencies in the U.S. From Vermont to Arizona, entire neighborhoods have been overtaken by rising waters, leaving families unprepared for the damage, danger, and long recovery that follows.

The demand for PuroClean’s fast-acting, high-quality and community-centered restoration and remediation services has only increased in recent years as the country faces more intense and frequent severe weather disasters. In 2024 alone, there were 27 confirmed weather disaster events in the U.S. with losses exceeding $1 billion each.

Rivera, who has served as a firefighter since 2009 and continues to serve his community as the Deputy Fire Chief, brings his emergency-response instincts to every job. Through philanthropic efforts under the PuroClean Cares banner, he continues to be a steady, compassionate presence in his community. He began his career as a PuroClean technician and later returned to purchase the very franchise where he started many years ago.

“Nelson’s wisdom and professionalism made a powerful impression on-air as he talked the anchor through ways to alleviate and prevent water damage,” said Steve White, President and COO of PuroClean. “The segment not only showed his expertise but also reinforced the value PuroClean brings to families before, during, and after a crisis.”

For more than 20 years, PuroClean has helped home and business owners with their restoration and remediation needs, serving communities across the United States and Canada with a network of over 500 offices. PuroClean Cares represents the brand’s commitment to community, creating avenues for franchises nationwide to extend their service beyond restoration by participating in nationally organized charitable givebacks and community support initiatives.
