Leading marketing and print solutions provider hosts in-person meeting for special event.

DENVERAlphaGraphics, a leading franchisor of printing and marketing solutions, honored its top franchisees during the company’s annual conference recently. The leading print franchise celebrated its 51st anniversary in San Diego, California, with an in-person event that welcomed 225 people.

“After a yearlong virtual journey, both the senior management team and the franchisees were excited to meet in person,” said Bill McPherson, vice president of franchise development. “The past year was difficult because of our inability to network and connect in-person with one another, but we made tremendous strides in our growth that were unmatched in previous years. So, this year’s conference offered the perfect opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the top franchisees among the AlphaGraphics family.”

This year’s winners included:

Rising Star: Rob Barnett (Suwanee, Georgia)

A franchisee with 30 years in finance and leading sales teams, Barnett was chosen for the award because of his ability to inject renewed passion into the chemistry of his team while quickly becoming a leader in the southeast region.

Most Improved: Steven Service (Rochester, New York

An owner of an AlphaGraphics location since 2013, Service was chosen because his goal is to always meet customer’s expectations by providing value and solutions without sacrificing high standards and quality.

Project of the Year: Phil Davis and Lynn Nelson (American Fork, Utah)

Davis and Nelson tackled a task for MX, a financial technology data company, that required them to deliver a packaging that would “speak for itself.” The center did just that by creating a box with an embedded video player that automatically started playing when it was opened.

Community Impact: A.B. Barrera and Paco Barrientos (Laredo, Texas)

Barrera and Barrientos, along with the Laredo staff, helped slow the spread of COVID-19 in their community by partnering with the Laredo Mask Coalition. The organization launched a city-wide public service media campaign encouraging people to wear their masks. AlphaGraphics Laredo donated their services to the cause.

Community Advocacy: Johanna Higginson (West Jordan, Utah)

Higginson gave two former inmates a chance when she hired them to work in her center. The two prospective employees showed enthusiasm and had relevant experience at the prison’s print facility. They continue to work in the center.

Leading marketing and print solutions provider also ranked in Franchise 500® earlier this year.

DENVERAlphaGraphics, a leading franchisor of printing and marketing solutions, has been named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s list of Top Global Franchises for 2021. The franchise came in at No. 174.

Earlier this year, AlphaGraphics ranked in the Franchise 500®, the world’s first and most comprehensive franchise ranking. Inclusion in both the highly competitive Franchise 500® and the global franchise list highlights the company’s commitment to providing best-in-class service at its more than 285 worldwide locations.

“The past year has been tumultuous, to say the least,” said Bill McPherson, vice president of franchise development. “Through it all, we have remained committed to our customers all around the world. Being recognized as a top franchise just cements for us that we are focusing on the right things.”

Entrepreneur determines its global rankings based on a formula similar to the one used for the Franchise 500®. However, in the global ranking, international size and growth are weighed more heavily. Other evaluation criteria include costs and fees, franchisee support, brand strength and financial strength and stability.

“We are proud of all that we’ve accomplished so far,” McPherson said. “We couldn’t do it without our amazing team of partners all around the world. We’re looking forward to another successful year as we maintain our focus on delivering value for our customers.”

Global leader in print and marketing solutions unveils refreshed branding and website to reflect evolution and growth.

DENVER — AlphaGraphics, a leading franchisor of printing and marketing solutions, has recently undergone a full brand refresh. The company, which just celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2020, has made several changes to reflect the brand’s overall growth as a company.

“Fifty years ago, we started out as a brand for print services,” said Ryan Farris, COO and president of AlphaGraphics. “Since then, we have grown into one of the largest printing and marketing franchises in the world.

“AlphaGraphics is a print and marketing partner you can trust. We consult and collaborate with our customers to provide them with custom solutions for their business. Our brand refresh is a reintroduction to our customers to showcase how we can help their business every step of the way.”

Along with the brand refresh, AlphaGraphics rolled out a new website geared toward telling the company’s story while also helping it become a marketing execution partner. The website showcases the company’s full services offerings: print services, signs, marketing and technology.

“The website is a direct representation of our move toward the future and how AlphaGraphics continues to modernize and expand after so many years of service,” said Farris. “The website is a celebration of who we are as a franchise. It showcases how much we have grown over our 50 years of existence.”

With more than 285 locations in six countries, AlphaGraphics was the first U.S. printing franchise to expand internationally, as well as the first retailer in desktop publishing. In 2019, AlphaGraphics was named to the Entrepreneur Franchise 500 and the Franchise Times Top 200+. In 2020, AlphaGraphics was named one of the largest printing operations by Printing Impressions.

AlphaGraphics was founded in 1970, and the company began offering franchise opportunities in 1979.

AlphaGraphics named one of the largest printing operations by Printing Impressions

Global leader in print and marketing solutions ranks 22 on top 350 list of printers in America, Canada.

DENVER — AlphaGraphics, a leading franchisor of printing and marketing solutions, has been recognized as one of the largest printing companies in the U.S. and Canada after being named to the Printing Impressions 350. The franchisor moved up one spot from last year, ranking 22nd on the list.

“Making this list by Printing Impressions showcases how well our center owners and leadership team work together,” said Bill McPherson, vice president of franchise development at AlphaGraphics. “Last year was difficult due to the pandemic, but we took the necessary measures to ensure that we remained relevant in an environment that was in turmoil.”

The Printing Impressions 350 ranking is based on annual sales with many companies self-reporting their numbers. The publication focuses on printing industry trends, with much of this year’s content geared to the unsettled environment caused by COVID-19.

“The pandemic has caused many owners in the industry to rethink the way they do business and the products they provide,” said McPherson. “Many of our centers had to pivot away from the traditional services they provided in order to focus on new revenue streams.

“That’s why we feel that making this list this year means more than in previous years. It shows that as a brand, we made the necessary adjustments to allow our franchisees to continue thriving in a tough environment.”

Many AlphaGraphics locations were able to shift toward different avenues to help keep revenue elevated. Yard signs pertaining to graduations and birthdays became popular. Some businesses also used AlphaGraphics to print “now open” signs to announce their re-opening after quarantines ended.

Global leader in print and marketing solutions earns a spot on 42nd annual Franchise 500 list.

DENVER — AlphaGraphics, a leading franchisor of printing and marketing solutions, recently ranked in Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500®, the world’s first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking.

Placement in the Franchise 500® is a highly sought-after honor in the franchise industry making it one of the company’s most competitive rankings ever. AlphaGraphics was also named to the list in 2019.

“Making the Franchise 500 list is a testament to how dedicated both AlphaGraphics’ corporate staff and center owners are to performing at a high level,” said Bill McPherson, vice president of franchise development at AlphaGraphics. “At AlphaGraphics, we are locally focused with our centers understanding the challenges in their community. Inclusion on this list shows that our brand is having an impact on a national level but also in local communities.”

Recognized as an invaluable resource for potential franchisees, the Franchise 500® ranks AlphaGraphics as No. 232 for its outstanding performance in areas including unit growth, financial strength and stability, and brand identity.

“2020 was a challenging year for everyone, but it was also a year of unusual opportunity,” said Jason Feifer, Entrepreneur editor-in-chief. “Franchises were able to be nimble and innovative, serving the needs of franchisees and customers in ways that will resonate for many years to come. We believe that, when we eventually look back on this time, we’ll see it as a moment when many brands defined themselves for the future.”

In Entrepreneur’s continuing effort to best understand and evaluate the ever-changing franchise marketplace, the company’s 42-year-old ranking formula continues to evolve as well. The key factors that go into the evaluation include costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability.

Each franchise is given a cumulative score based on an analysis of more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500® in ranking order.

Over its 42 years in existence, the Franchise 500® has become both a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for potential franchisees. AlphaGraphics’ position on the ranking is a testament to its strength as a franchise opportunity.

Torres and the AlphaGraphics team have recently created floor graphics to mark off social-distancing standards and wall signs encouraging people to stand six feet apart and wear safety masks on elevators. In addition, the center has produced yard signs and “graduation in a box” packages for graduates whose ceremonies were canceled, business-related backgrounds for video conferences and a medical manual for health-care facilities made of synthetic paper than can be sanitized and reused.

San Francisco’s own DNA is founded on 24/7 energy and the city’s ability to create and innovate. The members of the AlphaGraphics team share that energy, and we are problem-solvers and innovators,” Torres said. “We’re here to make our customers look good. The key to that during these challenging times is working closely with them to understand what will help them succeed in this new environment.”
