2023 Annual Conference and Trade Show

Each year, Signworld hosts a conference and trade show. Given that “No Rules, No Royalties” is Signworld’s motto, attendance at the annual conference is not mandatory for owners. However, over 35% of owners still choose to participate, with most bringing their staff.

This year’s conference theme, “Taking Your Business to New Heights,” helped owners explore the endless opportunities at Signworld. There were 28 events, including roundtables for owners who generated more than $1 million in sales for the year, sessions regarding sales strategy, marketing, artificial intelligence, and exit strategies, and there were countless demonstrations about the latest equipment.

At the awards ceremony, the Signworld 2022 Rookie of the Year was announced. This award is given to the Signworld owner with the highest sales in their first year in business. The winner, Corbin Rowley, owns Timpanogos Custom Signs in Provo, Utah, produced $725,000 in sales in 2022 and celebrated his second anniversary on April 1. The competition for this award was very competitive, and the runner-up, Kelly Hanaway, owner of Milwaukee Sign Company in Sussex, Wisconsin, came in a close second at $661,000 in sales for the year.

Signworld also hosted a two-day trade show for owners to network and meet face to face with preferred partners, exhibitors, suppliers, distributors and service providers. Owners gained invaluable insight from the convention and shared about their experiences.

“What a terrific convention! I have been to many of these over the years in my previous work life, and this one hit the mark. Organized, efficient, relevant, meaningful, energizing and motivating,” shared Chris Theobald, owner of Covenant Signs & Graphics in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

During the conference, Signworld hosted an on-site Discovery Day for potential Signworld owners. Potential candidates were able to attend select speaking sessions, network with current Signworld owners and enjoy lunch during a Q&A session featuring a panel of owners.

Mike Reilly, owner of Starfish Signs & Graphics in San Clemente, California, summed up the event best: “The best feature of the convention is the friendly environment and opportunity to meet and compare notes with other owners.”
