Schooley Mitchell is an independent cost-reduction consulting firm with more than 270 franchises across the U.S. and Canada. The Ontario-based brand was founded in 1997 and franchised in 2004, and it helps small- to medium-sized businesses profit by identifying errors, overcharges and waste in more than 16 cost-cutting categories.
The professional, knowledge-based B2B brand offers franchisees a low point of entry, minimal overhead, scalability, recurring revenue, territorial freedom, the ability to work from home and substantial earnings in any economy.
Franchisees review clients’ contracts and bills, help them see where they are losing money and then facilitate savings. Franchise owners are only paid if savings are found, making the brand’s risk-free environment an attractive draw.
According to Dennis Schooley, founder and CEO, most small- to medium-sized business owners don’t have the time or knowledge to seek better pricing or identify subtle shifts in their industries.
Schooley Mitchell’s cost-cutting categories include merchant services, small-package shipping, linens and uniforms, fuel and more. Additionally, it recently expanded its facility supplies to include provisions for offices, beverage and break rooms, washrooms and cleaning.
The brand’s newest category is in medical supplies, including items such as bandages, gauze and needles, as well as non-medicinal items in a doctor’s office, clinic or even a hospital.
Franchisees can even help larger businesses, such as hospitals, save on ancillary costs that often go unnoticed. Currently, the brand is growing by six to eight franchises a month.
“I think a lot of people have started to understand what a great business this is and what a great model it is,” said Schooley.
The brand boasts more than 130 support team members who oversee everything from training and marketing to new categories and economic trends. New franchisees attend one week of virtual training and are immediately assigned a one-on-one coach. Training and support are ongoing and include webinars, seminars, conferences and more.
Schooley Mitchell provides franchisees with the freedom and ability to control their income and future while creating a saleable asset. It seeks potential franchisees with executive management, marketing or sales backgrounds who are comfortable networking and talking with other businesspeople.
