With 50 years in the automotive repair industry, the co-branded company is committed to maintaining client trust and convenience. Each Mr. Transmission/Milex location is able to do minor and major repairs under the same roof, making it the perfect one-stop shop. 

“What that does is it brings the customers in four to five times a year and allows us to build that relationship and that trust factor with the customer so that they keep coming back to you,” explained Pete Baldine, president of Moran Family of Brands. “That’s our whole strategy.” Along with free performance checks, Mr. Transmission/Milex does not upsell unneeded services to its customers.

Due to the rise in used and new car prices over the past few years, Baldine has seen more customers choose to repair their vehicles rather than buy new ones, even if the repairs are extensive.

“We used to say to customers, ‘You know, this is going to be a $5,000 repair. That might be more than your car’s worth. You might not want to do it,’” said Baldine. “And now, if we still say that, people are saying ‘No, just fix it.’” 

In addition to benefiting from the rise in car repairs, franchisees can access a recurring revenue stream with Mr. Transmission/Milex’s built-in service packages. 

“The automotive repair business is really a good place to be from a franchising standpoint right now because the dynamics of the market are really strong, and we’re seeing that translate into our gross numbers,” said Baldine. “Our franchisees’ revenues and profitability have gone way up.”

Additionally, Mr. Transmission/Milex is continuing to build the franchise infrastructure to assist new franchisees with site selection and the retrofitting of buildings. The business is poised for incredible growth, and it’s clear to see why as it’s gearing up to award more than 20 new franchises in 2024 alone.
