Launching Into Franchise Success
At Paul Davis Restoration, training is more than just a box to check – it’s the foundation of the brand’s mission to serve people during life’s most challenging moments. For Senior Vice President of Training and Launch Leslie Anderson, supporting new franchisees goes beyond teaching systems – it’s about helping them springboard into the future with confidence.
As soon as owners become a part of the Paul Davis network, they join a program called Franchise Launch.
“We have a dedicated leader, Aaron Bandy, who oversees it,” Anderson said. “Franchisees stay in our launch program for three years, but they have different needs in year one, year two and year three. So we have specialized coaches for each year. They understand the needs of those folks in different stages of their life cycle.”
The commitment to preparation begins with Owners School, a seven-week compelling blend of classroom, online and hands-on experience.
“We come in person for a week. We also go to one of our offices, and we spend a full week at what we call a ‘mentor week,’ where they’re seeing everything in action,” Anderson said, adding that the experience makes everything tangible.
According to Anderson, the tailored support shows measurable results.
“Our offices that have been open for less than two years are averaging $1.7 million which is incredible,” she explained.
Additionally, launch coaches – all of whom have owned and run Paul Davis Restoration businesses – are on hand to support franchisees 24/7.
“Our owners will get to a job, and it’ll be the first fire they do, and we tell them, ‘FaceTime us. We’ll walk the fire with you. Let’s do it together,’” Anderson explained.
For Anderson, the company’s genuine care for its franchisees is what stands out most.
“I find it very courageous when someone starts their own business,” she reflected. “They put their trust in us to support them in times when things are good and maybe times when things are like, ‘Hey, I need your help.’ At Paul Davis, we’re a team, and it matters to us that they’re profitable as well because this is how they serve their community and take care of those around them. And we’re all in.”
