Bringing Relief and Restoring Hope

In the early 1990s, Mickey McHenry’s father took an early retirement from his job and was looking to start a family business. He asked McHenry to join him, and they started looking for businesses to buy in the construction industry, eventually coming upon Paul Davis Restoration’s franchise opportunity. In 1996, the McHenrys purchased their South Atlanta, Georgia, location as one of the first franchisees in the Paul Davis Restoration network.

Not only did McHenry sign on to be a part of what would be a successful business opportunity, but he also was about to meet his future wife. Sandi McHenry started at Paul Davis Restoration  on the contents team. Her mother was working at the company and begged her to join the team because they needed the extra hands. For eight years, Mickey and Sandi worked together before dating and eventually getting married.

By 2013, McHenry’s father had retired and taken over the business. and his wife, Sandi, took on the role of chief of staff. Together, Mickey and Sandi have expanded the company to include Lanier Isles, Central Georgia and Northeast Georgia locations.

“It has its ups and downs, but it has more ups because we both love the business. Helping people excites us both,” said Sandi. “I love working with him. We’re together all the time, and the fact that we can work together, doing something we love so much, makes it even better.”

The husband-and-wife duo find that they are able to complement each other’s strengths, with Mickey handling more of the business side and Sandi serving as the heart of the office, keeping things moving and playing the role of cheerleader for their team.

“It’s just because we love helping people, and it’s just truly rewarding,” said Mickey. “When you can truly help people, especially when there’s so much despair on the front end, so much lack of hope, and then we restore all that and give them back their lives again  It’s just wow. I’m getting chills just sitting here telling you about it. It’s what keeps me involved in this business. And Paul Davis Restoration – I couldn’t think of a better franchise to work for.”
