Currie: Specialization?
Freerksen: It’s all about being a big fish in a small pond. We found that the people we work with in terms of consumers really appreciate having somebody who can do a dive deep into certain segments of real estate. Let’s narrow that focus and learn about this one lakefront segment.
Currie: How can real estate brokers limit the time they work and dramatically increase their profits?
Mosier: When I first met Scott, I was working so many hours and my business ran me. I didn’t run my business. He told me about his systems and how he was working less and making more money. I’ve switched to our systems and it’s changed my life.
I was afraid, I had a lot of fear. Scott had to push me, but it was the best thing I ever did. I don’t let fear stop me anymore. It just keeps getting better when you don’t let that control you.
Currie: What about competition as a real estate agent?
Freerksen: I think that’s where the niche focus comes in. One of the things I remember when I first got into this, is you’re essentially taking 99% of all the real estate that’s out there and throwing it away and saying I want to focus on 1%. Now, that 1%, if it’s the right niche is a very substantial market. So instead of trying to catch 0.1% of the 100% of the market that’s out there, what if you captured 10% of just the lakefront. What if you captured 50% of the lakefront. Now that’s a winning scenario because you can retire on that kind of money. We decided to focus on this niche that will give us the competitive advantage.
