New Leadership Sparks Expansion

BODY20 is the nation’s fastest-growing electro-muscle stimulation (EMS) fitness franchise, and it’s revolutionizing how Americans work out by delivering full-body results in tech-driven 20-minute sessions. According to Lindsay Junk, the brand’s
new CEO, it’s a game-changing fitness option for athletes, busy professionals, people recovering from injury and anyone looking for a time-efficient, low-impact workout.

“In a normal workout, you are only able to stimulate 10 to 15 percent of your muscle fibers,” Junk explained. “Using EMS, we get that number up to 90 percent. This workout is very targeted, very cutting-edge, with guaranteed results. The reason why I signed on as CEO is because I believe in this technology. There is literally no other company out there doing it.”

Junk, a fitness fanatic who previously served as president of the YogaSix fitness franchise and expanded the brand to over 250 studios nationwide, signed on with BODY20 in April 2025. She believes the company’s technique offers a fresh approach to staying in shape.

“Electro-muscle stimulation has always been reserved for the medical community and injury rehabilitation,” Junk said. “It’s been popular in Europe for a while, and now, we have FDA approval to use it in our workouts.”

Initially launched in 2017 with a different, more complex EMS system, BODY20 has made rapid strides over the past several years. Its most recent changes occurred when the concept was acquired by Sequel Brands in May. Since its acquisition and the additional resources that came with it, BODY20 has focused on growth. The company currently operates more than 60 locations nationwide; a number Sequel Brands aims to grow exponentially in the next year.

“We’ve had nice growth in California, Texas, Kansas and Missouri,” Junk said. “And now, we’re looking to take that growth across all major markets.”

The unique fitness concept offers several signature strength-training workouts during which clients wear EMS suits. The technology-based sessions allow trainers to assess clients’ progress and create customized fitness plans based on a BODY20 bioimpedance score. According to Junk, the workout, which is recommended twice a week, is ideal for those with back, knee or joint problems. BODY20 is also popular among clients taking GLP-1 medications.

“If you’ve experienced significant weight loss after using a GLP-1, BODY20 is a great way for you to put muscle back on,” Junk said. “Ideally, it can be used in conjunction with those meds to save muscle.”

The technology can be customized for different fitness levels and goals, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced individuals who are at least 18 years old and have no medical conditions. Junk said it also helps athletes maximize their time in the gym and allows busy moms and executives an abbreviated fitness fix.

“It’s really the biggest cheat code,” she said. “You put the suit on, and it does the work. You’re lifting light weight, so there’s no injury, but your body is reaping the benefits of the EMS intensity.”

BODY20 is a game-changing fitness and business concept, and Junk believes it’s poised for aggressive national growth.
