A Lifelong Journey in Franchising
Donald M. Cepiel Sr., Principal of FranGPS, LLC, began his journey in franchising at just 16, landing his first job at McDonald’s. Like many teens, Cepiel balanced work with high school sports, even continuing with the company into his first year of college. His career grew rapidly until he was drafted, pausing his budding success to serve in the Army. Proudly fulfilling his service, Cepiel planned to return to McDonald’s once his tour was complete.
Back at McDonald’s, Cepiel quickly advanced, but with the arrival of a major competitor, Burger King, he seized the opportunity to join their team, expanding his career even further. Years later, Cepiel invested in his first Burger King franchise, ultimately growing his business to 26 locations before retiring and selling his restaurants.
In retirement, Cepiel discovered a new purpose: helping others achieve their dreams of business ownership. He joined FranServe initially on a part-time basis, but his passion for mentoring entrepreneurs quickly turned it into a full-time role.
“Many people have ideas, but I help them discover what they truly want,” Cepiel said. “I guide them to the right franchise category that matches both their aspirations and financial capacity. With FranServe’s vast network of franchises across every business category, finding their perfect match is easy.”
Cepiel attributes his success to three principles: develop a unique approach, be transparent with clients, and prioritize their needs. “When you apply these three values, along with persistence and dedication, success will follow,” he noted.
FranServe has proven to be the ideal platform for Cepiel, allowing him to leverage his extensive business experience to make a lasting impact. He believes FranServe is a perfect fit for anyone looking to help others succeed, even for those in retirement. It provides the chance to transform years of leadership into guidance for those embarking on their own franchise journeys.
