The first half of 2025 has been nothing short of transformational for Local Handyman, a growing home-improvement franchise that provides reliable, high-quality handyman services to homeowners throughout North America.

“In just the past 90 days, we’ve received over 600 franchise inquiries across Canada and the U.S. – an incredible surge of interest that reflects the power of our brand, our systems and the flexibility of our model,” said Colin Sprake, CEO and partner. “Whether fully hands-on or fully absentee, our Success Partners are building thriving businesses backed by real support.”

One of the company’s most exciting achievements this year was an inaugural Local Handyman Convention held in Vancouver in April 2025, the first gathering of its kind in the company’s eight-year history.

“Under our new ownership, revitalized systems and expanded vision, the event was a total game-changer for our Success Partners,” Sprake said. “It was a time of learning, laughter and leveling up. From deep business breakthroughs to unveiling our new high-top van wrap, it was a true celebration of where we’re going and how far we’ve come.”

What’s even more rewarding is what followed the event. According to Sprake, several franchisees were so inspired that they purchased additional territories to accelerate their growth plans.

The company, founded in 2017, focuses on making home maintenance stress-free. Franchisees manage a team of skilled professionals who are contracted for jobs both big and small. Types of jobs include interior repairs, painting and maintenance as well as furniture assembly, TV mounting or other tricky jobs that need an expert’s touch, even full bathroom renovations. These are all in-demand tasks that have contributed to Local Handyman’s rapid growth.

“Our expansion continues at a rapid pace. From a single U.S. territory sold in New Orleans at the start of 2025 to now over 30 territories sold across the U.S., we’ve made major inroads in markets such as Texas, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Lexington, Salt Lake City and beyond,” said Sprake. “In Canada, we’re seeing strong growth across the Greater Toronto area with more leaders stepping forward to bring our trusted services to their communities.”

This is shaping up to be the most exciting year yet for Local Handyman, and the best is still to come.
