When Emmie Knox and Louis LeSassier opened their Assisting Hands® Home Care franchise in the Austin, Texas, area eight years ago, they had no idea they would become integral members of the team. As area representatives, Knox and LeSassier have played a pivotal role in expanding the brand and helping other franchisees succeed.
With a background in medical social work, Knox was naturally drawn to the home care industry when she and her husband wanted to start a business. After exploring many home care franchise options, they chose Assisting Hands because of the company’s rigorous vetting process and commitment to high-quality home care.
Knox’s role as an area representative is multifaceted, and she leans on her wealth of experience to help others navigate entrepreneurship in the home care industry. She provides invaluable guidance to new franchise owners, assisting them with everything from licensure to operational procedures. Her hands-on approach and local expertise ensure that franchisees have the support they need to succeed.
“One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is helping new franchisees navigate the opening process,” said Knox. “I love sharing my experiences and learning from theirs. It’s a constant exchange of knowledge and support.”
Recently, she celebrated a significant milestone: the opening of a new Assisting Hands office in San Antonio. This expansion is a testament to the company’s growth and success.
Beyond professional achievements, Knox emphasizes the strong sense of community within the Assisting Hands FOFO® (Family of Franchise Owners). This family centered culture is a major draw for prospective franchisees, and the brand’s commitment to its caregivers and clients is evident in all aspects of its operations, ensuring that everybody feels valued and appreciated.
“We’re more than just business partners,” explained Knox. “We’re a family. We support each other, share experiences and celebrate our successes together. This sense of community and belonging is what makes being a part of Assisting Hands so special.”
As Knox continues to grow in her role within Assisting Hands, she remains dedicated to helping others and building a thriving franchise network. Her passion and expertise make her an invaluable asset to the company and its franchisees.
