In March 2020, after everything shut down because of the pandemic, Alicia Todisco found herself a divorced mother of two 5- and 8-year-old boys and an angel mom of a 14-year-old daughter. Todisco couldn’t believe that her life had taken such a drastic turn during a time of unpredictable change. “I was charting new territory during a very challenging time,” she said.
The only thing that remained constant was Todisco’s commitment to a successful career of 12 years in payroll/HR technology, until December 2020, when her pay was cut by $25,000 because of a corporate-wide market assessment. While Todisco had remained loyal to her company, she started to doubt her job security and the stability it once offered. It was time to explore other options to support her family.
In February 2021, Todisco met a franchise consultant who introduced her to Ace Handyman Services. After reviewing several other options, Ace Handyman Services stood out simply because of the culture and the team. Todisco also saw the value of the brand because she found herself at a point where she could use a handyman. After her divorce, Todisco wanted to start over by tackling several projects around the house while making it her own space, but she couldn’t find a reliable, professional craftsperson to complete those odd jobs.
A few months after learning about Ace Handyman Services, Todisco opened her Acworth, Georgia, location. As a result of the brand’s support and her leadership skills and sales experience, Todisco’s franchise was profitable right away. Although she struggled at the beginning of the pandemic, and some may have deemed her career change as risky, Todisco is grateful for the stability she has found.
Todisco leads an active life coaching her children’s soccer and running club teams, and she has found a new lease on life with Ace Handyman Services.
