The new year brings exciting news of continued growth for Ace Handyman Services, according to Colette Bell, vice president of franchise development. The franchise, known for being a successful technology-based repair and remodeling company, recently opened in its 45th state, adding to 362 established territories with over 200 owners.

With a history of bringing many amazing franchisees into its system, the brand has projected goals of awarding another 100 territories in 2023. Bell shared how Ace Handyman Services continues to be particular about awarding franchises to the right candidates. Characteristics include a passion for becoming an employer of choice in their marketplace and being focused on making an impact in their local community. Starting a new business can be rewarding and exciting, but that first year may come with challenges, which is why Bell also looks for determination and grit.

Ace Handyman Services welcomes prospective franchisees seeking an affordable business with quick returns. Thanks to the company’s extensive training and ongoing support, no handyman experience is needed. For U.S. veterans transitioning from the military to business ownership, Ace Handyman Services offers a self-led mentor group that meets monthly over the phone. “Folks transitioning out of the military face personal and business issues that might be different than other people coming out of corporate America,” Bell said.

Bell also mentioned that female owners are a growing subsection of their franchise ownership group, and since women may have different perspectives in a typically male trade industry, separate mentor sessions have been set up for them as well.

To continue attracting top franchisees, Ace Handyman Services has figured out how to assist franchise owners by adding benefits for themselves and their employees, such as affordable health insurance and 401(k) plans.

As a family-centric brand that treats franchisees like family, Ace Handyman Services helps its franchise owners build a foundation of lifelong customers. Bell explained that some franchisees have been with the brand for so long they have had the opportunity to watch each other’s children grow up. “It’s an extended family – it really is,” she said.
