Home care services offer entrepreneurs a low-cost business opportunity with long-term demand.

“Unlike many franchise concepts that require expensive real estate, inventory, equipment or major buildouts, our franchise owners can operate with lower overhead and a smaller office space,” said Tyler Moss, CFO of Assisting Hands® Home Care. “As America’s aging population continues to grow and more seniors want to remain in their homes, our franchisees experience exponential revenue growth while overhead costs only grow incrementally.”

Even without a medical background or industry experience, many Assisting Hands franchisees thrive thanks to their strong leadership and relationship-building skills.

“For many franchise candidates, home care offers the chance to build a meaningful business while serving an important need in their community,” Moss said.

Partners in life and business, Lisa and Tim Brown are the owners of Assisting Hands in Davis County, Utah. Following careers as an elementary school principal and Air Force firefighter, they researched franchise opportunities and quickly agreed that Assisting Hands was the right brand for them after listening to a podcast with Director of Franchise Development Dan Durney.

“We were looking at various franchises, but most of them felt very transactional. ‘Give me your money, sign here,’ is how I felt,” said Lisa. “When we met the Assisting Hands team in person during the discovery day, we found that they are amazing people and very family-oriented.”

The Browns were also very pleased with the immersive training they received at the brand’s Miami office.

“We learned strategies and tactics that proved to be invaluable to us to this day,” said Tim.

The couple opened their franchise in October 2024, and the support continued. In addition to communicating directly with CEO Lane Kofoed as needed, the Browns meet regularly with other franchisees to discuss experiences and growing pains.

Today, the dynamic duo is feeling excited about growing the business.

“Tim is much more like, ‘Hold on, please. Like, let’s chew everything you’ve bitten off right now,’” Lisa explained. “I’m a little bit more like, ‘Let’s break it off and figure out how to chew it later.’”
