Haley and Josh Mitchell were high school sweethearts who met in marching band while growing up in Gainesville, Florida. They each earned their degrees before Haley went into corporate finance and Josh took a job as a regional manager for a national retailer. Eventually, the couple had two children. After moving around, the Mitchells found themselves in Minneapolis. By then, their children were growing up and making friends. Haley and Josh Mitchell were high school sweethearts who met in marching band while growing up in Gainesville, Florida. They each earned their degrees before Haley went into corporate finance and Josh took a job as a regional manager for a national retailer. Eventually, the couple had two children. After moving around, the Mitchells found themselves in Minneapolis. By then, their children were growing up and making friends. Not wanting to put them through another relocation, they began exploring how they could settle down.
With the help of a franchise adviser, the Mitchells found the beem® Light Sauna franchise opportunity. They were familiar with the benefits of infrared saunas and red-light therapy and believed in their ability to support wellness. What caught their attention was the simple franchise model, which offers wellness services without requiring medical or specialized staff.
“It was the combination of the modalities that beem offers, the needs in our community and just that simple operating model where we felt like we were capable of this,” Haley said.
In late 2023, they went on a brand visit, flying out to see a beem Light Sauna location. By the time they boarded the flight back, they had made their decision.
“We felt like we knew enough after that to make that decision at the airport that ‘Yes, we want to do it,’ and we ended up purchasing two territories,” Haley recalled.
The Mitchells were then able to give their children the good news that they were staying in Minneapolis. They opened their first location in late 2024 and will be opening their second location in the near future. Both Haley and Josh have maintained their full-time careers while running their beem Light Sauna franchise.
“I don’t want to sell something that I don’t care about, which is why we went with beem,” Haley said. “It’s just so easy to talk about because I feel so strongly about it. When we hear the members and the difference it’s made with pain, depression and stress, it just makes it all worth it. Just to see the community embrace us means so much to us.”
