How This Couple Invested in Their Dream Automotive Business
Allyson and Kevin McBreen weren’t planning on pursuing a new business venture. In fact, they were gearing up for a well-deserved retirement with a three-month RV road trip. However, when they ran into a family friend who worked for a Tint World® Automotive Styling Centers™ their plans changed.
When Kevin walked into a Tint World location, he immediately fell in love with the brand, and just 90 days later, the McBreens had purchased licenses to two stores in central Texas. Less than a year after signing the initial contract, Allyson and Kevin opened their first Tint World location and were on their way to building a successful business.
The McBreens aren’t new to entrepreneurship; they have owned other businesses. However, the husband-and-wife team are new to the automotive business. Previously, Allyson worked on the backend of the high-tech industry while Kevin was a veteran and worked in law enforcement. Thanks to the backing of a nationally recognized brand, the McBreens were able to launch a successful business in an industry they’ve become ferociously passionate about.
“One of the biggest advantages of Tint World is the brand itself,” Allyson explained. “Tint World is a recognized name throughout Texas and even globally. Having that brand recognition behind us really sets us apart from local competitors. It gives our customers a sense of security and trust that they’re going with a reputable company.”
Although the McBreens’ first Tint World location has been open for less than a year, they’re already experiencing tremendous success. Recently, the location has had one of its best weeks, and 42% of the McBreens’ invoices are from returning customers, allowing for a steady stream of cash flow right away.
“Tint World’s support has been invaluable from Day One,” Allyson stated. “The operations team was there every step of the way, ensuring a smooth transition from prep to opening. Everyone at Tint World is incredibly supportive, from the ops team to the marketing department, who are always quick to help. It truly feels like we have a whole network behind us, cheering us on.”
However, the monetary success is just the cherry on top for the McBreens. Perhaps the most rewarding aspect for Allyson is the human connection. They’ve embraced being involved in the community, supporting local charities and those in need.
“It’s not just about running a successful business; it’s about being a part of the community we serve,” Allyson said. “Giving back allows us to connect with our neighbors, support those in need and make a positive impact within our local community.”
Looking ahead, Allyson and Kevin’s plans are ambitious. They’re laser-focused on opening their second location and celebrating the first anniversary of their current location.
“With a strong team and a year of experience under our belts, we’ve ironed out the kinks and built great momentum,” Allyson said. “We’re excited to see all the success that lies ahead, and we’re grateful for the continued support from Tint World.”
