As a doorway for many people looking to be their own boss, franchise ownership changes lives. FranServe’s first annual FRAN-TASTIC 500 recognizes brands going above and beyond the norm in helping people fulfill their dreams of business ownership through franchising.

“It’s a recognition of brands that are trying to help people change their lives – and find their passion,” said Alesia Visconti, chief executive officer of FranServe, the world’s largest franchise consulting and expansion organization.

While the FRAN-TASTIC 500 lists the honorees, it’s not like other corporate honors that base their findings solely on the bottom line or rank winners in a particular order. Instead, the 500 honorees are listed alphabetically.

“It’s not a ranking. It’s more about the human aspect,” said Visconti. “Each one is a brand that sets itself apart,” she said.

Released by FranServe in April after a careful process of evaluating nominees, the FRAN-TASTIC 500 selected brands based on the following criteria:

Turnkey business model: It’s like unlocking the front door of a new home that’s move-in ready. These brands’ business models are already in motion and proven to work.

Operational support: Epitomizing the benefits of partnering with a franchise rather than flying solo, the guidance and assistance provided by these winning brands is superior throughout all phases of development.

Superb training: New franchise owners are offered a top-notch education on all aspects of the business – not only during the onboarding process, but on a continuing basis.

Brand identity: These brands present their value to consumers in a clear, polished manner.

Industry leadership: The winners have set themselves apart within their sector by offering quality products, services and/or talent.

Scalability: Room to grow is important for entrepreneurs, so scalability is essential for franchise owners seeking potential for expansion down the road.

Ability to launch quickly: The faster a business gets up-and-running, the sooner a new franchise owner realizes a profit.

Clear marketing message: An effective marketing strategy is vital to a brand’s success.
