Southpaw Gym offers a flexible model with room for scalability through multiple revenue streams. The New Jersey-based combat gym is the ideal investment opportunity for prospective franchisees wanting to make a difference in their community without feeling restricted by a one-size-fits-all concept. Everything from the location size (which ranges from 2,300 to 5,000 square feet) to the hours of operation can be tailored to the franchise owner’s needs.

“This is a franchise that is flexible to meet your lifestyle. As a boxing and MMA gym, we offer split hours and night hours, depending on the needs of the local community. For instance, the Neptune location is open from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. for group training and then reopens later in the day from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. every day. As a franchisee, you can teach one of those classes or multiple,” said Stephanie Lashley, co-founder of Southpaw Gym.

The Lashleys explained that there is no set schedule for each location; the franchise owner gets to decide the hours of their business, and, with a split schedule, franchisees gain access to multiple revenue streams.

During the break in the middle of the day, franchisees can hold private training sessions in the gym or in the community, allow certified and insured trainers to train in their facility, provide key membership access to members or take some time for self-care.

“The more you are open to the public, the more people you can get in your doors,” Lashley said. “It’s up to you, how you want to build your schedule and the opportunities that arise whether you have a split schedule or a full-day schedule, like during the summer for summer camps.”
