“The biggest challenge I saw, and still see in addiction treatment, is housing,” said Eggers “It’s a critical piece of the puzzle, and often, it’s missing. I saw firsthand how inadequate the options were. Places weren’t up to the standards I felt were necessary for recovery, and often, they were simply unaffordable. I remember one woman, in particular. I couldn’t find proper housing for her, and she ended up overdosing. That was a turning point. It shook me to my core. I searched deep down and knew I had to do something. I didn’t know how, I didn’t have the money, but I knew I wanted to do it myself. I had to figure it out.”
Unlike many treatment programs that simply discharge clients after a short stay, Simple Solutions provides housing for up to a year, keeping individuals close to the support they need to succeed. This extended care model, along with a thriving alumni network, builds a strong sense of community and ensures ongoing support.
“We’re like a family,” Eggers says. “Our alumni often send people back to us because they know we provide the best care.”
