Runningboards Marketing® (RBM) provides businesses with a unique way to drive messages to where the consumers are. When businesses use the brand’s digital advertising vehicle (DAV®), they can reach more customers and get ahead of the competition. The advertisements are mobile, customizable and trackable.

Larry Adamson opened his RBM franchise in Katy, Texas in March 2021, becoming the eighth franchisee in the network. After 30 years in the oil and gas industry, Adamson wanted to do something entrepreneurial. “I was looking for something that was scalable, had low overhead and I could get up to speed on quickly,” shared Adamson. “Runningboards Marketing checked all three of those boxes.”

Adamson certainly got up to speed quickly! After only eight months in business, he took delivery of his second DAV and expanded into an additional territory – the Galleria area of West Houston. But just how was he able to grow so quickly?

“I knew, based on the economics of the business, that I would need more than one vehicle (DAV) to generate the revenues I was looking for, which fit right within my plans of wanting a scalable business. I really saw my first vehicle as proof of concept, and when I was profitable every month after month one, I knew it was time to grow. In addition, I started recognizing that there were more ways to utilize the vehicle (DAV) than I initially thought. I was focused on the subscription-based revenues, but I’m getting requests for special events that can generate extra revenue,” he explained. Adamson has been getting more individual requests than he imagined. Most recently, a parent requested to rent the mobile billboard space to celebrate a milestone in their daughters’ life.

Equally as important to revenues and scalability for most owners is the support they receive from the franchisor. “The training and support I receive from the Runningboards corporate team are great,” Adamson shared. “If I have any issues, they get on them right away.”
