GAME CHANGERS
Renew Medic™ is a new specialty cabinet transformation and restoration company in the popular TCB Franchising family. The brand evolved from Furniture Medic®, one of the world’s largest furniture repair and restoration companies for more than 30 years. Father-and-son team Joseph and Daniel Steffens started their Furniture Medic franchise in 2018 in Denver. They quickly recognized the endless opportunities in specialty cabinet services.
“We started doing jobs for mitigation companies. Then, one turned into another and another into another. Insurance adjusters began seeing what we could do, and they started calling us directly. Before we knew it, 90% of our revenue was cabinets,” said Joseph.
Recognizing the opportunity, the TCB Franchising corporate team decided that this could grow into a completely separate cabinet transformation and restoration franchise – one that has unique service offerings in an underserved market. Enter Renew Medic.
Joseph characterizes Renew Medic as an attractive business for forward-thinking entrepreneurs interested in growing a successful, scalable business rather than simply working in one.
“Renew Medic is for go-getters who have the desire to be in the fast-paced transformation and restoration sector, responding quickly to needs and helping people get back into their homes after damage occurs from a fire or water loss,” he said. “It’s a bigger business, so someone has to want to invest in the proper equipment to do the work and have enough staff to be able to respond quickly to multiple losses.”
The Steffenses have ambitious plans to continue growing their Renew Medic business, and they’ve already secured five licenses in the Colorado area.
“We’ve invested in state-of-the-art equipment and a 24,000-square-foot shop. We employ 40 full-time people, so with the size of the shop, we can cover the whole front range of Colorado,” said Joseph.
The father-and-son team is grateful to the TCB Franchising team for launching and growing the Renew Medic brand. As a leading home and commercial services franchisor in the U.S. and Canada, TCB Franchising offers many benefits, including key business development resources, an impressive marketing department and an extensive network of franchise owners to leverage for further support.
