A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FRANCHISEE
When considering franchise opportunities, it’s always helpful to understand how a franchisee spends their typical workday. PAINT CORPS™ is a home-based, veteran-run residential and commercial painting franchise. A PAINT CORPS franchise typically starts out with the owner managing the day-to-day business, with plans to hire a project manager or salesperson as the business develops.
CEO Burgess Perry described the following hypothetical day in the life of a franchisee as “a good representation of what we share to set expectations for prospects interested in PAINT CORPS.”
Here’s a glimpse of a day in the life of a PAINT CORPS owner-operator franchisee:
- 7 a.m. The franchisee reviews the day’s calendar, job schedules and team assignments. They also check emails and messages from clients or staff to address any urgent matters.
- 8 a.m. They call the team for morning ETAs, discuss the day’s projects, set expectations and review safety protocols. They also motivate the team by sharing any relevant updates or recognitions from the week. 8:30 a.m. The franchisee heads to the first job site of the day and inspects progress, quality and safety measures. They engage with customers to ensure satisfaction and address concerns. Additionally, they take photos of completed work or current progress for social media or marketing.
- 10 a.m. The owner meets with potential commercial clients or networks with local businesses. They visit property managers, HOA offices or general contractors to drop off marketing materials and build relationships. They also follow up on leads from the previous day via phone or email.
- 11:30 a.m. Back at the office, the franchisee reviews finances, approves invoices, manages payroll and completes other administrative tasks. They also review job estimates and proposals, sending them to clients, and they enter project updates into the CRM.
- 1 p.m. While visiting prospective clients’ properties for estimates, they take measurements, discuss color options and explain the benefits of working with PAINT CORPS.
- 3:30 p.m. The owner engages with the team for end-of-day updates and progress pictures, and they highlight recent projects, community involvement or troubleshooting needs.
- 4 p.m. The franchisee recaps the day’s achievements and challenges and reviews jobs for the next day.
