For over six years, Dr. Zahra Kadivar managed outpatient rehabilitation services for one of the largest rehabilitation hospitals in Houston. After having her son, she decided to channel that same energy into owning her own business.
Today, Kadivar is the owner and director of One You Love® Homecare Houston, which she describes as “the most skilled, nonmedical service you can find.”
“I have over 30 caregivers and clients in various settings (home, memory care unit and assisted-living). I visit all my clients regularly to ensure they are receiving the best care,” she said.
With her background as a physical therapist, she brings extensive hands-on clinical leadership experience in assisting individuals with neurological impairments and other conditions, making her an excellent fit for One You Love Homecare. Kadivar has been impressed by the comprehensive training and support provided by top franchise leaders, who are dedicated to delivering specialized, customized care – ranging from part time to 24/7 – for clients.
“They are always ready to offer a helping hand. It’s like having a business coach,” explained Kadivar. “I can run the most trivial problems by them, and they are always available to share their experience or brainstorm.”
When asked about her challenges as a female franchise owner, she revealed she doesn’t really focus on them.
“I’m not just a woman owning a business, but I’m also an immigrant. One advantage of being a woman is that most healthcare workers are females, which makes it easier to connect with my employees and other healthcare providers as they care for patients,” Kadivar explained. “Most healthcare leaders are male, however. To be quite frank, I don’t focus on the obstacles as much because this is what women do best: multitasking while moving forward!”
Kadivar is focused on growing her client base gradually while remaining dedicated to hiring talented team members. Her commitment to One You Love Homecare’s mission is unwavering, and she is passionate about providing quality senior care so that clients can remain safe at home.
